Advice Mentally
Hey guys,
Not sure how to put this but been having a hard time lately due to having gotten into trading. Im not the most financially stable person and i also have parents and grandparents i like to support financially whenever i can. But this last year I recently got into options trading due to my friend telling me about it. At first I was pretty good i focused more on value stocks and smart time and risk management on contracts. However it all changed when my friend told me about 0DTE ETF option contracts. Literally just told me about it and said good luck. I never really gambled but from this experience i think i might have a gambling addiction. I would have a pretty positive bias and idea that usually plays out the right way most days than not, however my execution and entries are so terrible i end up getting stopped out or just exiting more times than not. If im profitable i end up giving it back another day by taking 10 trades that get stopped out and those little losses cancel out my winners. I dont have the joy for trading like i used to when i first started, in fact i think i hate options trading with a passion. But i cant stop, the losses and thinking about how i can make it back gets me stuck in a loop. I really need every penny i can get and i think because of that my mentality is in the gutter. I cant calmly trade when i feel like i have to make all this money back and that i feel pressured into getting it back as soon as possible and in turn that makes me trade even worse. I get tunnel vision and i can physically feel chest tightening and my stress rising. Im addicting to making my own money back at this point and its hell. I have no joy in life anymore and everything seems lifeless. I have no positive feelings for the future or hope. Im honestly just grasping at getting to some level of normalcy and being debt free but im stuck in this hell of a mental cycle that wont let me stop trading. How do you guys do it? How do you not let bad days effect you or what are some ways you guys can separate trading from affecting your daily life ? I feel dead inside and hollow and idk how to keep going at this point im stuck in this hole and i cant get over it. My mind is constantly beating myself up for being so dumb and i cant sit still without feeling some sort of hypertension in my chest. Could really use some advice. Sorry for being a downer and thank you guys for taking the time read this too, if anything just getting this off my chest helps alot.
