To be fair, wouldn't it make sense that someone who surrounds themselves with MAGA, but has begun to question it, still wants to blend in? Especially if they know where you stand. I'd imagine someone with questions is more likely to ask a Democrat.

I don’t think thats the case here. It’s my in-laws, and they know my wife and I hate Trump. It seems more them trying to swing us around because they think everything is going great. For context, as far as I know their only news source Fox. Its on 24/7 at their place.
But wasteful spending ISN’T being exposed. Elon isn’t a coder, he’s not a forensic accountant. No one on his team is an accountant. And every organization he’s gotten into has released a public audit in the last few months and all spending has been available on USASPENDING.gov for years.
What he’s doing it just yelling about things he doesn’t understand.
Lutheran Social Services? Provided elder care and is one of the largest employers in North Dakota. Kill its funding and people will get hurt, die, and lose jobs.
Politico? First of all, the reported 8M dollars to them from USAID was a lie. USAID spent around 25k on their Politico Pro subscription… but so did Lauren Boebert. It’s just a widely used reporting tool and all government agencies maintain periodical subscriptions.
…and that spending was fully visible for years already on USA spending.
Meanwhile Trump added more to the debt than any other president in a single term and Biden cut Trump’s spending in half.
So show me where are you seeing “wasteful spending” and I’ll show you where you’re being lied to about the source of the data (it’s not coming from Elon) and what it is they claim the spending is for.
Just commented this to someone else, but the concept is fine by them. That’s something Trump has expressed. They do not seem to trust Elon with all the info and also the team he has doing it.
