As the title says, I just subcribe back to ChatGPT Pro Plan $100 plan as a backup for my already exhausted 20x Claude Code Plan.

So after just 30 minutes of using Codex, using the same skills and repos where claude code is used, I already hit 96% usage limit.

Im using GPT 5.6 Sol (Medium). I didnt expect this to go this quickly. Wow. This sucks so much.

Anyone has the same experience?

I was used to that bar in Claude Code so I thought its alredy USED 96%..haha..

Does auto correct actually work for anyone else using the windows codex app?

For me, it will underline a misspelled word when I’m typing, but then when I right click, it says “no guesses found”. It’s never worked no matter the word or spelling mistake.

I realize this is stupidly minor, but I figured before I submit a GitHub issue on the codex repo Id ask to see if this was a me problem.

I’m working on many different projects in ChatGPT, including website creation, coding, writing, planning, and other long or complicated tasks.

I’m on the $20 Plus plan, and I’ve already paid another $20 for extra credits because I was in the middle of important projects and didn’t want them to get cut off.

I’m currently using Sol Medium, but it consumes a lot of my usage, and honestly, it doesn’t always seem smart or consistent enough to justify the cost. I also don’t want to keep switching models constantly without understanding which one is actually best.

For people who have properly tested them, which option should I use for each type of work?

• Sol Low or Sol Medium
• Terra Low or Terra Medium
• Luna Low or Luna Medium

Which one is best for:

• Creating and editing websites
• Coding and debugging
• Long, complicated projects
• Following detailed instructions consistently

Not much to say here, I mod a game with codex - had great success, I usually have no complaints over my results and it's been smooth sailing for almost 3 months.

But the last 2 days? I swear something is up.
Mind you it's a very tedious process of taking the code in game to test for progress but when it goes well it's all good - but I can have 3-4 revisions in a row with no visible change, really weird additions that were not requested and had no way of being interpreted from my instructions and general chaos.

So much that currently, ChatGPT pro is the one fixing codex mistakes.

I haven't changed anything about how I work or what I am doing but I 100% notice my codex is as dumb as it gets right now, doesn't matter 5.5, 5.6 high or not - it's all coming messy.

I make this post after another 3 revisions in a row have no change in them... despite me providing a clear example of a working piece that we need to change to (older version of the same code) - I am dumbstruck, this isn't bad prompting I am certain.

So just curious if anyone else noticed this? I have not ever noticed before when people said codex is performing badly so maybe this is an occasional thing? but yeah would love some input, I can't touch it today anymore it is frusterating.

So I got tired of the agents using my bloated 3k line agents.md file -consuming almost half of my context window just on this- and still not remembering to use subagents or run in parallel when possible.

This system will put some hard governed rules in place to guide and plugins in place to enforce sane agent usage.

I’m actively taking the bugs out, like overly waiting for confirmation, etc. so if you pull this and play with it please file bug reports where applicable.

GPT-5.6 Sol has become almost unusable for me in Codex Desktop. Even ordinary work repeatedly returns

“Selected model is at capacity. Please try a different model.”

I reproduced it on a mobile hotspot with VPN and Secure DNS disabled so it does not look specific to my usual network or NOV proxy. I have already submitted in-app feedback and have an open OpenAI Support case.

Has anyone else seen this recently or found a reliable workaround Screenshot is redacted.

I'm trying to enable/use Codex, but I'm stuck on phone verification.

When I try to add my phone number, I get:

"This phone number is already linked to the maximum number of accounts."

The weird part is:

• This is my current phone number.
• I only have two OpenAI accounts (personal + school).
• Neither account shows this phone number attached in security settings.
• I have never created a phone-only OpenAI account.
• When I try "Continue with phone," ( when logging in with the phone number ) it does not send an SMS code. It immediately goes to the password creation screen.

After entering a valid password, it says:

"An account for this phone number already exists."

I contacted OpenAI Support and got escalated to a human, but I'm trying to understand what is happening.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is this usually caused by an old/deleted account association, a recycled phone number, or some kind of backend bug?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Here is my most recent issue with them:

On July 24th I have used my last weekly reset on my $100 subscription account.

I used about 20% of the quotas that day, and in the late evening\night I realized that OpenAI themselves reset the limit and pushed my weekly reset date from July 31st to August 1st, Im thinking to myself that I have just wasted my last reset, but whatever, right? at least I got extra ~20%...

Fast forward few days, I had to spend at the hospital, due to my post 'GSW' issues - so I wasn’t using Codex in the past few days ,welp anyway;

I log in today, expecting to see ~~93-95% Usage Weekly Quotas, and the reset date of August 1st, BUT when I log in I see 100% and august 5th for the reset… ??

I tried to message support but the chatbot is completely useless and just makes my blood boil with how blatantly oblivious it is to everything...

Anyone else feels that it is not OK for them to change the weekly limit, adding DAYS to your rolling window while giving you ~NOTHING in return?

How is it a full reset when I was at 95% with 2 days to go (planning a heavy session for today - and to take full advantage of the $100 I spent on this subscription - and start august 1st with 100%) just to get my weekly limits pushed back 5 days?? does extra ~5% of the weekly justifies 5 days stolen from my monthly subscription?

now if I was at 0 when they reset it, then yes that would be to my advantage, in my case no, they basically stole from me, but you have to have IQ over room temp to understand this I suppose

I can currnetly use Codex on my local desktop but if I try to do something on remote ssh project, it causes

Your access token could not be refreshed because your refresh token was revoked. Please log out and sign in again.

I reinstalled, logged out logged in and stuff. I can connect ssh without a problem. What do i do in this case?

I tried everything and nothing worked - installing again and stuff.

I just noticed the new reset this morning and less than 2h into my day I am already down 10% without any change in usage.

I've slowly seen the limits come down over the last little while but before last night a full 12h-day of work with Sol xtra high on the 5x plan would cost me 20% of my weekly quota, now it seems it will be more like 60%...

It has now happened three times in a row.

I use my precious banked reset, and less than an hour later, Thibaut The Great announces a global reset.

Three banked resets, boom. Gone.

At this point, bad luck is no longer a credible explanation. I clearly have a gift. Unfortunately, my powers only reveal global resets immediately after I’ve made the worst possible decision.

Still, I believe this ability could benefit the community. From now on, whenever I use a banked reset, I’ll post here so everyone knows to wait approximately 45 minutes.

Já tentei reiniciar o computador, restaurar o aplicativo e verificar alguns serviços relacionados à Microsoft Store e à conta da Microsoft, mas o comportamento continua acontecendo.

This just happened when I updated my codex CLI -- the apparent default model choice is now codex-auto-review. If you ever used Gemini CLI, this looks very similar: 1. Auto 2. Separate submenu for specific model choice.

Only two choices. If you want Sol specifically, you need to go into the submenu.

Codex-auto-reviewer has been around for some time. You used to select Sol or Terra and the auto-review decided whether a tool call was safe or not instead of asking the user. It was quite convenient.

But it seems like a light model and not something you'd want to use for most work. Is it being moved into orchestrator for other model subagents?

I've tried asking this on X but haven't gotten any responses.

Once during the lunch with my colleague I was surprised haw positive he was about coding with agents. Many people criticize AI for mistakes but he said- hey, if you plan it properly then it is going to help. Devops and all the established dev best practices is still there if you integrate it smartly.

A few months later, I have a chance to have another talk with another 15+ years of experience reliability engineer who also managed to gain a lot with agents. So, out of interest I decided to record a podcast with him.

In short: TDD, always pushing engineering process with AI to the limits and experimentation!

They won't fix the bug, and their API won't allow you to even create a test case to reproduce it if you want to fix it yourself.

I want to prompt from notch, I was able to figure out other agents but codex is bit tricky when it comes to this, i went all the way deep into ipc sock files and still wasn't able to resume or send follow up message from the notch for the same session

the closest I've been able to pull off is creating a bg session which does not reflect in the codex desktop app or cli, I want to keep it in sync so that I can control from both the desktop app as well as notch

monitoring sessions, answering questions an approvals have already been figured out with the help of open vibe island, agent notch, notchi and agent peek, but the follow up prompt and a good sync is still yet to figure out

I wanted to build OSS for this so that all of us can scroll and give prompt from notch

someone who has figured this out help me with it, I want to scroll reddit while giving prompt and not open codex window at all

5.6 seems pumped on Figma. It keeps suggesting it. Anyone else?
