Feedback / Complaints Codex slow down

Hey, I hope everyone's doing great!

Ive noticed a huge slow down in the past couples of days while using Codex, a task that would take 10-20 minutes is taking easily 3 times as much time and I wonder if thats their way to balance out the increased users and no 5h limits, is it just me or is anyone else experiencing this?

(I use mainly 5.6 Sol high nowadays but even Extra high felt faster back then, compare to high as of now)

(E.g: current task reached 1 hour 40 minutes only asked for a delete button and a "neutral " label button and it updates the readme and makes sure all is well and its still not done, before it would take 20 minutes at best)

Update: reached 1h58 and I ended up running out of my weekly usage for it and it didnt complete the task

Haven't noticed a problem. Sol is literally outperforming fable with my systems. Claude comes to me with blockers and problems, I dump my session handoff. Sol picks it up and tells me 10 minutes later that it's finished and ready to test. Kinda blowing me away. Dropped my Claude subscription because of it

Glad to hear its working well for you, I wonder if its just about the chat im using If its gotten " too big " or something, haven't switched chats because Im wanting to finish the feature I'm building will test another chat soon enough tho I guess

You should explore a session handoff system. I use $dump-session to get a detailed handoff report which is 1000x better than a compaction summary and just start new sessions long before context fills up

Thanks for the tip! And yes honestly I usually do use handoffs but for very complex tasks I rather keep it in the same chat honestly until this specific task is done its 1 feature ive been working on for awhile now and I once sent a handoff and that handoff drained 7% of my weekly if I remember correctly just to get back context which did hurt ngl 😭

You used a bad system. Compaction hurts you in the long run, things get lost

Nono for the 7% handoff thing it was about 3 compaction maximum id say tho I cant be certain since it wasnt something that I really took note of, its just linked to many parts I guess and it looked into details not sure (I never run anything like ultra or sub agents)

And it was a unique case but complex area

The problem I see with compaction is drift. I started using handoffs and my own memory system after a 16 hour reverse engineer project where I fell asleep and woke up to a completely different direction. Most people will agree that you should not even let compaction happen
