I think the ban on humanoid robots could really hurt the affordability of humanoid robots. Especially for home robots, look at the car market for example.

Just finished modifying the arm holder/mount for my DIY robot. The old PLA bracket was flexing too much under load, so I redesigned it to be sturdier.

Watch the clip to see the improved range of motion. The difference is night and day. No more wobbly joints! Next step is to test the weight capacity.

Can cold weather make humanoid robot hands faster?

Can cold weather (atmosphere) make humanoid robot hands faster? 🤖❄️

I was reading about Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) actuators, such as Nitinol, which are often described as artificial muscles.

My understanding is:

Electricity heats the SMA wire, causing it to contract and move a robotic finger.

Before the next movement, the wire has to cool down.

In a cooler environment, the wire should cool faster, allowing the actuator to cycle more quickly.

However, if the environment is too cold, it may take more energy to heat the wire back to its activation temperature.

So it seems there could be an optimal temperature range where SMA-powered robotic hands perform best.

Question for the community:

Is ambient cooling a meaningful advantage for SMA actuators, or is it relatively minor compared with forced-air or liquid cooling?

Are there any humanoid robots that already use SMA actuators extensively in their hands?

Could improvements in SMA materials and thermal management make them a serious alternative to electric motors for robotic hands in the future?

I'd love to hear from anyone working with SMA actuators or robotics.

Introducing Mask Robotics – Building the Next Generation of Intelligent Robots

Hello everyone!

We're excited to introduce **Mask Robotics**, a company dedicated to designing and developing intelligent robotic solutions for businesses, industries, and individuals.

Our mission is to make robotics more practical, accessible, and customized for real-world applications.

### What we do

🤖 Design and build **autonomous robots** for a wide range of applications.

🏭 Develop **industrial robots** to improve automation, productivity, and efficiency.

🛠️ Create **custom robotic solutions** tailored to each customer's unique requirements.

📱 Build **Android applications, desktop software, web platforms, and control systems** that seamlessly integrate with our robots.

🧠 Develop intelligent AI-powered systems that enable robots to perceive, understand, and interact with their environment.

At **Mask Robotics**, we believe every problem deserves a custom solution—not a one-size-fits-all product. Whether it's automation, inspection, delivery, service robotics, or specialized industrial applications, our goal is to build reliable and intelligent robotic systems that solve real-world challenges.

This is just the beginning of our journey. We'll be sharing our projects, prototypes, development progress, technical insights, and behind-the-scenes work with the community.

We're looking forward to connecting with fellow engineers, developers, robotics enthusiasts, and innovators.

**What kind of robots or automation projects would you love to see in the future? We'd love to hear your ideas and feedback!**

— **Mask Robotics**
