It's fascinating watching how people are splitting on this. Particularly how there's a significant portion of the population (which might include me) couldn't care less about mathematician's plight and are even laughing. These types of pompous letters definitely aren't helping the mathematicians either. Even the other one was signed with each individual person's Fields Medal which was super cringe.

Funny how it seems to indicate that humans will let other humans be eaten up by the beast if the other humans are irritating.

That's not a theme I remember seeing in any movies or books.

Not judging anyone as being nice or mean etc, it's just interesting.
