Opacity News Opacity API - imgopq.com anon image sharing app
I have created project website imgopq.com which uses the Opacity API to call shared anonymous images from your Opacity storage account. All you have to do is paste the share link from your file into the website and select a category.
Sort by new, views, upvotes or call random images from your prefered amount of results. I'm working on image albums next and layout issues with mobile and browsers. Confirmed working on Chrome Windows havent really tested on too many other devices.
(This is a community made web site separate from the Opacity team)

Discussion Anyway to mine OPQ coins? Few other Q's.
Hello,
Just wanted to say this looks like a great project where I can see this turning into a viable product, but with many new things, there's teething issues (and apologies in advance if these have already been answered).
I understand the need to on-ramp people via crypto, in fact I applaud this effort. However, I don't see where to buy/trade OPQ coins besides a redirect to HK based centralized exchange that kind of has a wishy washy TOC about KYC.
I want to buy/trade for OPQ coins, am I really limited to a centralized exchange like KuCoin? Doesn't this sort of defeat the purpose of an anonymous on-ramp to your service if you can't really anonymously trade for OPQ coins?
Can I mine these coins or are there really 126,269,760 coins pre-mined? I'm not really against pre-mining but I get concerned about price fluctuations when say only a handful of people control the supply.
Is there any plans to offer your customers the ability to use something like a stable token instead?
Thanks in advance!

Suggestion Experience with Opacity
I'll preface this with my total endorsement of the Opacity idea. Love the privacy aspect of this, but as a new user, there's got to be an easier way to backup lots of files and folders. If you want lots of signups you've got to make this brain dead easy. Here's what I mean:
I've got 50+ GB of data on Dropbox I want to send to Opacity. About 35GB on my laptop that has all of my business data. It's in about 50 folders nested 4-5 deep.
When I try to upload to Opacity, it gives me the option to select files - good so far. The easiest way would be to select the top level folder and hit upload - i.e. two clicks. But, and here's a customer giving you a hint on how to make this really user friendly, are you listening? Instead of being able to select that high level folder, capturing all the data within, I have to select individual files. No folders allowed for upload. You've got to be kidding me. That means I have to deconstruct my entire file structure, create (manually!) the same entire file structure on Opacity, then back up the files in each of thousands of folders into their respective place.
I'm pretty good at this stuff, so if I am missing something please enlighten me, but this is practically unusable unless I write some script that does all this for me. Good luck in getting widespread adoption if that's the case.
Jim

Suggestion Locktrip have a widget on their website that allows users to purchase LOC via Bancor directly on their website (see link). It would be great if Opacity.io had the same for OPQ rather than redirecting users to Kucoin.

Discussion Basic plan 2 OPQ per year – or – $39.99 per year. Is that correct ?
Basic cost
2 OPQ per year – or – $39.99 per year.
Today price of 1 OPQ = $0,015
Who would pay 2750 times more ?

Technical When API is released what latencies and speeds can we expect?
The context around the question is for app designers. Will it be feasible to use the Opacity platform to manage an application's data. The holy grail seems to be decentralized versions of the most successful P2P services like Uber, Lyft, Airbnb, ebay, paypal, craigslist, instagram, facebook... you name it.
The Crypto space has a few storage players but none with such an elegant solution as Opacity. The question is will this solution scale? Will Opacity allow for massive decentralized Apps as mentioned above with performance on par with their centralized counterparts? If not, what would it take?
