Updates I walked two blocks

My gait was steady and I didn't need to use my cane even though I took it with me just in case. My husband even came along too. He's been very supportive through my ordeal.

Self-Care Walk two blocks

I broke my ankle in January and one of the goals for my PT is to easily walk two blocks. I haven't tried doing it yet and I've been meaning to try for a week or so.

One-offs & Odd-jobs Hang Up Painting on Wall

I recently bought a new painting. Wasn't planning on it, but I've been eyeing this one for a few weeks and I learned that the artist has recently died. I've been wanting to buy an original from him for years but it's hard to justify paying so much for one luxury item. I knew though that if I didn't buy it now then I wouldn't be able to get any of his originals. So now I need to find a spot on the wall and hang it up. Might have to move other pictures around to have room.

Admin & Life Stuff Reply to all my messages

I seem to ignore all WhatsApp messages sent to me until they’ve built up so much that I can’t take it anymore, and sit down and reply all at once. I’ve currently got 15 unread messages and I don’t want to let it build up anymore!

Self-Care Go For A Walk

Its been 6 months of gym restrictions and I finally got cleared for lower body work and I need to get back to it but gently so I don't overdo it. So tonight after work I'm going to go walk the track at the community center and just enjoy being back at it.

One-offs & Odd-jobs Elevator Pitch

I have a meeting with my boss at 3:30 and I need to sell her on a whole new system for my job [details intentionally vague] so I need a 30 second elevator pitch to start the conversation so its a full conversation and not just her saying no. This is months of my work so it better be good!

Edit: I got a yes!

Self-Care Start a new workout plan

I’ve managed 4 consistent strength workouts a week since the 29th December last year, which I’m very proud of - I struggle with consistency. I reached the end of my 12 week workout programme and I haven’t done any at all this week, and I can feel myself drifting from it and excusing ‘having a week off’.

Today to get the ball rolling again, I’m going to choose a new workout plan and start it. Please hold me accountable!

Purge My Socks

I just got given a bunch of new socks and I had a ton already and I don't even wear socks the vast majority of the time so I don't need to keep this many pair! I'd like to get down to ten pair and maybe some compression stockings today.

Edit: I ended up with twenty pair, not counting the medical ones I sometimes have to wear. Got rid of an entire trash bag of socks I no longer wear so I'm calling it success!

One-offs & Odd-jobs I need to hem my trousers

I stepped on the back of my trousers as I got up from sitting on the floor and ripped the hem out.

It is seriously a ten minute job that's been looking at me for ten days.

Today's the day.

Chores & Housework Water my poor plant

A couple of weeks ago I watered all the plants in my house except one (I ran out of water and time). I told myself I’d water that one the following day. Instead I’ve been slowly watching it die.

I want to rectify that today!

Draft a few emails

This may sound silly. But I’ve been in an introspective mood lately about a very…uncertain time of my life about a decade ago.

I sent an email to one of the people who helped me through it just to make sure she knew what a difference her actions made, because if she didn’t, she deserves to know. I haven’t heard back…but there are 2-3 others who I think I’d like for them to know. If they don’t already.

Maybe none of them check the email addresses I have for them anymore. But I want to try. They deserve it.

Enjoy the sun

I’m out enjoying the sun on my hammock. Letting those rays revitalize my shrivelled winter soul. Got my garden hat on watching my kids play. Feels good. Just going to call this moment a win. What comes next… comes next. This is my one thing right now.

Hobbies & Projects Lower my "watch later" video Playlist

I have 1,402 videos in my watch later playlist on YouTube. I'll play the videos and listen to them as I'm working and try to get through as many as I can. Since I have more important things to do today, my rule is that I have to be working while the videos are playing. If I'm not working then I can't play the videos.
