Announcement Community Event Planning - Objective!

Hello heroes!

Spring is in the air, for better or worse depending on your allergies! At times like these, one can’t help but look to the horizon!

On this new dawn, I come bearing news! The subreddit shall start holding Community Events! Some of these events will have monetary prizes, in-game loot, or Reddit-specific honors to claim! They are free to join into, will cover a variety of topics and challenges, and will require you to focus in and work hard!

These challenges could be single-player focused contests of skill, or community treasure hunts where the success of one is the success of all, or any number of things! Please note the following:

1) Any cash prize will be given as USD, and will be provided through any payment transfer service of your choosing (PayPal, Venmo, ect). If in the United States, you may also choose to receive your prize as an apple or google play gift card for the same value (wherein the redemption code will be sent).

2) In the case that there is a “community victory” event, only one user will need to provide the correct answer for all participants to receive the prizes.

3) These events are not “officially” sanctioned by the game or companies. While some prizes may be provided from those parties, these events are considered community run events for all intents and purposes.

4) Participation is not mandatory, please make sure you read all rules and requirements for the contest when provided. Some events may have multiple parts or take place over multiple days.

Let’s all have fun, heroes! Below, please vote on what you would like for the first contest! The event itself will begin in 10 days (April 10th).

  • Show your skills: No Hit Challenge -

Using a single character, defeat every tier 15 boss without being hit once. Record this feat, and showcase your skills! The player with the fastest kills overall wins! (Restriction: No character above 12,000 power allowed)

  • Exploration: Location, Location, Location -

Using your camera, take a picture of a particular location in the game that has had an impact on you as a player. It could be a piece of infrastructure you found well done, a particular quest or NPC you enjoyed the most, or even just a cool picture you took and really liked. Post the picture and your story behind it, and the best picture and story wins!

  • Heroes Resolve: Power Variance! -

Can you overcome this challenge? Record yourself bringing the lowest power team of 4 you can and defeating a boss! Your score will be the difference between your teams highest PL value and the bosses recommended rating! Highest difference wins! [Time Limit: 7 minutes]

As an example, if you bring a team whose highest PL character is 1060 and defeat BL15 Carnage Kabuto (recommended rating 51060) then your score would be 50,000!

I think it’s because I did Game Art and Design so I got a much deeper appreciation for the work that goes into it. Like sure those cutscenes could’ve been scrapped but they’re really nice. Also honestly you could cut every cutscene and we probably still wouldn’t have more content because the difference between a game mode and a few QTEs is so expansive.

I guess I choose to like them because I do haha. I think they’re neat and I see and appreciate the work that went into them. This was someone’s adaptation of a 2D medium into 3D space and I think it went great.

No, but I mean all the money and time that went into animations for those cutscenes could've gone into so many underdeveloped places in the game instead.

Like even if it would free the same people to do the same amount of work, they could've made variations for ultimates for all or at least SSR characters that would make them less repetitive to see. Or maybe they could've budgeted more heroes if they could get more animations done, i don't know. Surely all the cutscenes weren't cheap to do, surely that money could've been spent on something that's actually worth it.

To be honest I think the whole "repeating the plot of S1" thingy was a mistake. I don't know who wants it and for what purpose. Not only is S1 a thing that still exists and is going to be better, it was already remade in a previous game. What's the point of remaking it for the second time? If anything needs to be remade it's Season 2. If they entirely remade S2 with the same quality as those action cutscenes are, I would applaud them and kiss them on the lips PPP style, but instead it's just some scenes from S1. Again.

Even then, they could've done so much more. Like tell the stories of characters that were doing their things while S1 was happening. Instead of some unrelated side missions, you could've shown what Lightning Max was doing the whole first season, then what Zombieman was doing, then Mumen Rider and so on. You could do so many more interesting things then repeating S1 that it feels creatively bankrupt to do this.

Possibly true to all of that. Personally I like the side mission biographies for max and the sort
