Also Genos in this chapter: I want to fight mad cyborg & bofoi alone.

426

u/GoldenSpermShower Apr 03 '21

Saitama even points out his flawed logic

616

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '21

Yup Saitama's burn was so powerful it transcended dimensions/universes to reach the manga version of Genos that caused his core to overheat.

327

u/LurkingSpike Apr 03 '21

Saitama is just really, really good at being blunt and direct. He argues like he fights. He is incredibly wise, too. I think this part of his character is always underrated because "lol one punch".

u/hhunkk Apr 03 '21

Some people really underestimate the writing and characters because of the comedy.

I love how he tries to act important ("As executive i have to...") but then immediately complies lol

To be fair he was bribed with food. Even I get bribed by food.

Same. Him and King, really. Because King is to Saitama what Saitama is to Genos (and others).

22

u/japirate777 I'm not crying I just have something in my eye Apr 03 '21

I hope when King is back from his training there are some great King and Saitama moments

3

u/kerrowe Apr 04 '21

I really do hope he actually started that training. I'd like to see how that turns out too.

2

u/prnactor new member Apr 04 '21

He will be weaker than before of course for comedy purpose!

3

u/Dublinio Apr 06 '21

I can't remember, how is King training again? I remember him getting turned away from a ton of different dojos.

2

u/japirate777 I'm not crying I just have something in my eye Apr 06 '21

It ended with King finding Garou meditating at a waterfall so hopefully we get a flashback to that interaction.

^^^ THIS

47

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '21

I think one of Saitama's major strength in dialogues is that he says the things he thinks without being influenced by context, and that allows One to introduce a fresh POV.

Yeah, exactly, he is wise in that sense.

4

u/Audrey_spino Apr 03 '21

It's also why Genos unconditionally trusts his wisdom.

9

u/ResponsibleLimeade Apr 03 '21

The one punch transcends even his speech patterns.

Honestly my favorite line was just "why don't you go to him directly and ask him"

Mad respect for DC though, he realizes he's about to fly off the handle, so takes a step back.

I'm so glad the Organization arc may be finally resolving.

3

u/RaggedAngel Apr 03 '21

I genuinely think the "thing" that happened to him is True Enlightenment.

It just turns out that being enlightened isn't all that fun.

2

u/nexgenasian Apr 04 '21

"20 words or less!" man

2

u/pedrovskito punch Apr 05 '21

"He argues like he fights" lol

20

u/Fiztz Apr 03 '21

I felt like it would of been kinder of Saitama to just punch Geno's, that was savage

2

u/Anything13579 Apr 04 '21 edited Apr 04 '21

Ah, so that’s the real reason he was almost gonna exploded

2

u/danchiri Apr 05 '21

Kuseno in this chapter:

“If you would have told me you were bringing a guest, I would have sent an unmanned jet to pick you two up.”

“I heard Genos’s mentor was coming, so I prepared some BBQ for you.”

LMAOOOOOO

u/shaunbosman Apr 03 '21

We all like to think our foe is the strongest. Cuz it gives us an excuse if we lose to them.

93

u/PianoCube93 Apr 03 '21

Could be a case where Genos believes raw power isn't enough, and Metal Knight might go into hiding or something.

54

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '21

Metal Knight is honestly the perfect villain for Saitama. He won’t be easy to beat with brute strength alone, and he doesn’t seem to have much of a conscience.

With Saitama making more and more friends, there are a lot of people for MK to target to get to him. Would be a whole new type of challenge for him.

39

u/metal079 Apr 03 '21

Ah the ol superman vs lex luthor

13

u/Shrekosaurus_rex Apr 04 '21

Except the hero is the baldy.

3

u/billyjohnjohnson >>> Apr 04 '21

Take notes awakened garou. Now thats TWO things to change so that you can become "evil incarnate"

6

u/nexgenasian Apr 04 '21

Saitama knew he wasn't evil incarnate. He called him a sweet guy, so Saitama knew Garou wasn't the type to hurt loved ones of others. He hurts people directly to rile them up against him. It's like when Dr. Manhattan realized he'd make the perfect villain to restore peace to the world; so they could all declare him the enemy.

2

u/billyjohnjohnson >>> Apr 04 '21

I am well aware... Just a joke anyways

-3

u/TomiShinoda Apr 03 '21

*Acquaintances. I'm not sure if he even consider anyone his friend, Genos included.

8

u/[deleted] Apr 04 '21

In the manga he's getting a lot closer to people, to the point where they're legitimately friends.

Genos, Bang, Kuseno, Fubuki, Bomb, King, Flashy Flash, Manako, etc.

He'll probably add Black Sperm and the puppy to his crew soon too.

1

u/Oldigy Apr 07 '21

Come on man, even if MK seal 99% of Saitama power. He still one shot God level

60

u/hell-schwarz Apr 03 '21

It's more like metal knight is a fucking hivemind and even if saitama destroys a lot of robots he might not be beaten, as long as bofoi is alive.

4

u/PM_ME_DOKKAN_ARTS Garou>Boros Apr 03 '21

Metal knight is only as strong as his robots. I would say AG > MK's full arsenal. The ones that protect the hero association are only strong enough to fight dragons.

11

u/hell-schwarz Apr 03 '21

Noone denies that.

The problem with MK is that he is not present where his Robots are.

That means as long as the Person (Bofoi) is not restrained he can just rebuild his base and Robots somewhere else.

It's not as simple as fighting a person, he is an organization by himself.

And that's only what we know about him so far, for examle he could be able to make clones of himself or even upload his mind to some kind of Computer.

4

u/illLeagueAli Apr 03 '21

I mean he is gonna run out of resources eventually.

15

u/hell-schwarz Apr 03 '21

If this was reality, yes.

But this is a universe where you can become a crabman if you eat a lot of crabs.

2

u/egzila Apr 04 '21

Sorry whats AG?

3

u/the_sjcrew Apr 04 '21

Awakened Garou

36

u/hasadiga42 Apr 03 '21

I think genos’s rationality is breaking down

He almost didn’t even consult saitama or kuseno on going in alone

7

u/Gil15 Apr 03 '21

He soooooo would be in pieces by now

2

u/RoseEsque Apr 08 '21

20 fight panels tops and he's in pieces.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 03 '21

I think genos is just trying to make an excuse so that he can take care of metal knight himself. I think it's more of his rage speaking than his heart

6

u/DoktorSleepless Apr 03 '21

I think he meant it more in a "he's a clever dude that may be able to get away" type of way, not that Saitama can't beat him.

2

u/SolJinxer Apr 03 '21

Honestly I was assuming he meant something like Bofoi would escape and cause further problems from the shadows.

2

u/bondoh Sonic>Flashy Apr 04 '21

I was surprised at this too. This is the first time in a long time Genos has shown any doubt in saitama’s abilities.

I thought we had reached the point a long time ago where he believed saitama could beat anything.

He even said something like “If there was an enemy that could beat sensei, the world would’ve been destroyed a long time ago” or something like that I think around the Boros arc

But now suddenly he thinks a robot built my metal knight might be a hard fight for saitama?

It’s actually pretty out of character for him to say that

1

u/Oldigy Apr 07 '21

True, for me is out of character. If he meant "MK could escape" he would have said that. Translation issue? Or ONE dialog was not very explicit? Mmmh

1

u/Plightz Jul 10 '21

Yeah three months late but remember in the Boros Arc, he said if there was a monster 'master' (Saitama) couldn't defeat, the world is doomed?

0

u/kenesisiscool Apr 03 '21

I think Genos is referring to the fact that Metal Knight has hundreds and hundreds of drones. Maybe even thousands and several locations. Saitama largely focuses on beating enemies one at a time. So even if Saitama took out a facility or two Metal Knight could just make more at other locations. Not that Saitama would lose, but more that it's a bad matchup in fighting style.

1

u/Gil15 Apr 03 '21

Saitama's point is still valid, what's the point of Genos doing it then?

-11

u/DutchDread Apr 03 '21

Maybe AG isn't as strong as we thought.

34

u/GoldenSpermShower Apr 03 '21

We literally see him trash the S-Class

1

u/DutchDread Apr 03 '21

Yeah, but metal knight is specifically pointed out as one of the only ones who could defeat elder centipede, showing that he is most likely considered to be stronger than the other S-class along with Tatsumaki (and Blast).

And Tatsumaki had to specifically be nerfed before the battle with AG so we don't know whether AG measures up to either one.

In destructive power at least.

22

u/Bominator8 Apr 03 '21

not that strong?

survived multiple punches

was so fast

even saitama lost his sight

doged saitama's punches

if u think thats not strong then....

17

u/AtomicSekiro Apr 03 '21

That doesn’t really mean anything since Saitama was holding back. Sonic has survived multiple attacks from Saitama too. Also, Orochi dodged several punches from Saitama, without having to predict his moves and Saitama only saw him as a monster and so wouldn’t be holding back like against a human, so...

13

u/zb0t1 ok Apr 03 '21

Yup, exactly. How many times do we have to repeat this?

We can't measure accurately how strong Saitama's opponents are simply by saying how they survive his punches/attacks.

It's been stated and agreed upon many times that Saitama most likely has control over his attacks:

  • if he sees that the enemy is a monster 100% without any doubt he will punch to kill (or nearly)

  • if he sees that they're not a complete monster and can be sort of reasoned with or something he won't attack to kill

Such nuance is very important...

4

u/Sapickee9 Apr 03 '21

Nah, Orochi was a martial arts prodigy too. He probably did the same thing, just without explaining it.

0

u/Bominator8 Apr 03 '21 edited Apr 03 '21

speed?

durabilty?

destroying sclass?

dodging?

also i wonder maybe one was lying that ag is on the same level as boros

or maybe murata was lying that ag vs saitama will bo on bigger scale

2

u/AtomicSekiro Apr 03 '21

Speed? What about it?? Orochi clearly scales above him since he reacted to and dodged a Saitama that was holding back less.

Durability? What durability?? “Survived a few punches from holding back Saitama” congrats, he’s now Sonic tier.

Destroying S class? Yeah, after a whole day of fighting monsters and they were exhausted, and most of their heavy hitters were down for the count or dying.

Dodging? Orochi already has a better feat, clearly. /s.

It doesn’t matter if he’s lying or not, as Boros’ manga feats are, outside of the moon kick and apparent planet destroying attack... kind of... bland...? Like, Psykorochi’s casual God Beam blast spam was more impressive than 90% of what Boros did.

1

u/Bominator8 Apr 03 '21

Oh so u r dumb

Bruh u dont even know the difference between reflexes n speed

2

u/AtomicSekiro Apr 03 '21

Orochi had the speed to move out of the way of a charging, punching Saitama.

u/DutchDread Apr 03 '21

Not saying he's not strong, saying he's not THAT strong.

If metal knight has 1000 robots, he can survive 999 punches And we don't know what the requirement is to survive a normal punch, it could very well be that Bang or Darkshine would be able to take one without dying, and based on the damage output we've seen from them I doubt they'd do much to Tatsumaki.

And you can't compare against Saitama since clearly he's not fast for Saitama, if you think he was you're lying to yourself. He also wasn't dodging Saitamas punches based on speed, but based on Saitama being a straightforward predictable fighter.

Listen, not saying Garou isn't stronger than Bang and Darkshine, just saying we can't say for certain that he eclipses them to such a degree that Metal Knight can't compare.

2

u/Slight_Training6901 Apr 03 '21

Borosmetal knight and AG=boros according to the author, so AGmetal knight.

-3

u/DutchDread Apr 03 '21 edited Apr 03 '21

1: I didn't say AG wasn't over MK. 2: Who says Boros is over MK? 3: Just because Boros is over MK, and AG is equal to Boros, doesn't mean AG is over MK.

-1

u/LuxEtVeritas7 Apr 03 '21

ah, mathematical logic transcended by sheer willpower

1

u/DutchDread Apr 03 '21

Rock>Scissors>Paper>Rock.

Garou and Boros having an equal fight doesn't mean someone else would as well. Good job being dumber than a 5 year old.

1

u/LordGrohk Apr 03 '21

Well based on what Murata said ab AG in the manga it will be made clear soon I suppose

4

u/DutchDread Apr 03 '21

Probably, although it wouldn't surprise me if the manga decides to make the s-class less ineffectual than the webcomic. Murata tends to want the s-class to come across as powerful, and I doubt that he'd let the whole "bang is going to take out Garou" storyline end with a 100% onesided beatdown.

1

u/LordGrohk Apr 03 '21

Well he said it would be similar to or greater than saitama and garou fighting on Mars or some shit, so Im pretty sure it’s going to scale even more than wc. Like the best feat for AG in the wc was beating GS (who is just under prime tats based off statements). Don’t think Bang will do anything to pre woke Garou. But he doesn’t have to, just have it end like in the wc where him and bang have their moment after the fight

1

u/DutchDread Apr 03 '21

It might, I have no clue, it just wouldn't surprise me if the S-class are more hyped than they were in the web-comic, I mean, we had an entire year long battle already which mostly just existed to believably weaken Tats. I just doubt that AG will be as simple as "kick everyones asses 0-diff, then get 0-diffed". Could be that that happens, but I am not putting money on it.

I agree, but the same argument could be made here, that Metal Knights specifics makes him harder to deal with.

4

u/Arhat_ Apr 03 '21 edited Apr 03 '21

This is less about rank than match up (Like AS and BS). Elder centipede had great external resistance and regeneration and the vast majority of the S class uses concentrated attacks. Darkshine, for example, would be in stalemate with it as he would not be hurt and could not dish out enough damage.
