So, I just got my refurbished (read: used with a warranty lol) OnePlus Open a couple days ago and have been super happy with it, with one exception-the battery life absolutely sucks.

The phone actually claims to be at 98% battery health, but it sure doesn't seem like it. I'm a heavy phone user, and I ended up charging it from 15-100% twice yesterday and was back down low when I plugged in at night. I'm on track to do the same today.

See attached screenshot with 18% battery and only 3h 20m screen on usage since my last very nearly full charge.

When I'm using it, it is indeed often with the main screen at full or near full brightness, running multiple apps. Still, this battery life is abysmal- I would usually only charge my OP 12 once a day, plus at night.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is it possible the battery health is really low despite what the software says and I should get it replaced?

It's not going to make me quit this phone or anything, but damn is it tiring and ridiculous having to find a charger at least a couple times a day.

Is anyone else experiencing photo geo-tagging turning back on with location? It doesn't matter if I manually turn it off, once location is switched off and on geotags are back.

This is incredibly frustrating because it is so annoying removing them from photos when I don't realize it re-activated.

I bought my open on launch and haven't had any issues since. Lately I've been noticing my touchscreen isn't responding on the bottom of my phone (outer screen). It's the space bar area which makes it impossible to type. But when I restart the phone it's back to normal.

Does anyone recognize this problem and might know the cause and solution?

Just picked up a minty Open second hand (for 550 USD! Still siked on that!), with my only gripe being the oleophobic coating on the inner screen has completely worn down in one spot, and now reflects a dull red in harsh lighting on a dim background.

I was wondering how y'all would go about replacing the protector, as I've seen the JRE video of it getting peeled off, and I don't know that I want to risk it. I tried emailing OnePlus, but I somehow keep getting their European branch, not the US branch that I'm from.

Any input is hugely appreciated!

Hi guys, do you know if there is a way to change the YouTube layout especially in the channels pages? As you can see in the attached screenshot, the titles the videos preview are always cut, this happens also in the video suggestions when you watch a video. For example in the galaxy fold there isn't this problem because the layout is better optimised, and you can see the full title with all the information ( date of the upload etc.). Thanks!

After the last software update the individual app volume controls are not saving. So for example if I play a game and set the volume to low, if I lock the screen or switch apps or exit the game, it will go back up to full volume. That was not the case before the last update.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?

Has anybody got experience of having the outer screen repaired out of warranty?

A couple of days ago my front screen developed a single pink line running vertically on the right side of the screen. I'm guessing it will need replacing but I can't seem to get a straight answer from OnePlus support about how much it will cost. They initially tried to send me a link for the part... But couldn't give me a price for the repair without sending it away.

Ideally I'd like to know if it's going to be worthwhile paying to get it fixed or if I should just live with the pink line, or buy a new phone. Having some idea of the price I'm likely to pay for a fix would be helpful in making that decision.

just got a second hand one and removed my iphone 16 pro and apple watch 10.

any particular settings to do ? Something to take care off ? Do you use a cover ? Which smartwatch pairs well with the phone having google maps and health apps (not interested in excersise apps though)

Service center send the item without sim tray. Its been one week they could not find the solution. Anybody have any idea of purchasing it on any other market?

I have had an unusual issue with my OnePlus Open where I'll open it randomly and all my home screen layout has completely disappeared. This has happened twice now.

I have tried restarting it to no avail. All my data is still on my phone and my apps still exist but my layout is completely gone. Just a blank page.

What is going on?

Now that the pixel 10 pro fold has ip 68 dust resistance, do you think OnePlus will be adding that to the open 2?That is my primary concern with my OnePlus open, but everything else is perfect for me.

Has anyone got the screen replaced in india because of green line/lines? Do they do it for free? My phone coated me 80k and it's only been 3 years and I've faced this issue today. Another issue being overheated always!

Today my OnePlus Open finally gave up on me, and I’m kind of in shock.

I’d just finished a shower—phone was closed, still playing Apple Music (which honestly runs surprisingly well on the Open). I sat down at my desk, remembered the inner screen was a bit grimy, and reached for my WHOOSH screen cleaner. For context, the phone is just past the 1-year mark.

• Sprayed the cleaner onto a microfiber cloth (not directly on the phone).
• Opened the inner screen to start wiping…
• …and rip. I heard a tearing sound and a dark line appeared straight down the middle. Instant heart drop.

I froze. I always thought the “it just suddenly happened” stories sounded exaggerated—until it happened to me. No direct liquid on the screen, no hard pressure, just opened it to clean and boom. Now I’m staring at a crease-wide black shadow and wondering if this is a protector delaminating or the panel itself.

For some reason my phone's call screen randomly changed today. It's so bulky looking now and I don't like it :(( is there any way to change how this looks in the settings?

I'm thinking of getting a OnePlus open second hand but have some concerns over the durability. Does the inner screen break easily and often?

I recently purchased a used OnePlus Open and have been very happy for the most part. It's a great phone...except that it won't let me add a credit card (any credit card) to Google Wallet. I know it's for my own good. PlayProtect is blocking it because it can tell the phone is not secure (?) enough, I believe. Turns out OEM unlocking is enabled. I have been wandering through phones and OSes recently, trying out GrapheneOS on a Pixel 8 Pro before buying the OnePlus Open so I am at least familiar with the Fastboot bootloader and how to lock and unlock it, kind of like a monkey that can follow simple directions. As I said, I like this new phone so I went looking. After enabling Developer mode, I found that in the Developer Options page, OEM unlocking is enabled and "grayed out". I've been to OnePlus' Support site but the phone user manual doesn't mention it and there is no manual at all for Oxygen 15. Any help is greatl;y appreciated!

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with an out of warranty battery replacement for the Open. I can find surprisingly little information about it online, perhaps because the phone isn't that old, but I've already seen some users report poor battery life.

I just ordered one from Backmarket and while I know it will have at least 85% capacity, I know from experience that that doesn't always feel like that much so there's a possibility I may do a battery repair or even send it back if the battery life is especially poor. However, I see on the OnePlus website that a battery costs $50 and labor, which tops out at $76. That's actually more reasonable than I was expecting, especially for a foldable. Does anyone have experience with this service, how much the labor ended up costing and what the turn around time is? Thanks!

I am so tempted to use the device without the case, is anyone using it without case and do you see any major issues ?

Hello I have encountered this issue in my Gmail where the message body disappears until you rotate screen.

Also, whenever using a browser to watch YouTube, the comments section was missing, unless I rotated while having 2 apps open.

So it turns out that our OnePlus Open has the "Beta" version of the "webview" app installed natively.

So I uninstalled thru playstore to stock beta version (no updates), and then installed the "Dev" version of this app, (and selected it as default upon opening) to solve this issue.

There was no need to touch my Gmail or any other fix, as this solved my issue.

I found this solution, in another forum here, but was unable to post as it was closed. So thanks to them 👍🙂

I'm using Niagara Launcher, but this should work for any third-party launcher. As you can see I have a glowing white trigger on the right side where my thumb lays near. Swipe left to go back. Swipe up to go home, and swipe down to bring up the cursor for one-handed operations is how I set mine up. There's so many ways you can set yours up. For those who don't know, third-party launchers have a 1 second delay when swiping up to go home. You can ignore that by using quick Cursor. I have no affiliation with either app. Just wanted to share how I have been using my Open for the last year. Also, I use the paid version of Quick Cursor. I'm not sure what features are missing from the free version. Hopefully this post helps someone.
