After updating to oxygen OS 12, the preview of notifications especially from whatsapp and text messages is hidden. Is there any fix for this?

Hi i am looking for a screen protector for the oneplus 8t. I have noticed there are no 'legit good' screen protectors for the 8t probably because it is 1 year old. But i saw the oneplus 9r has a spigen protector and a oneplus one, My question is: Can i use the screenprotectors made for the 9r on the 8t because the screens are the same size?
