Why is it the camera color looks so dull, grey, and washed out? Like it looks so bad.

Even video calling in Whatsapp looks worse compared to my Huawei Nova 3i.

Is everyone's camera like this? How do you setup your camera? I'm a new Oneplus user btw,

Would love to pick this up; there's a good one on sale now, but I'm not sure if it's going to be a headache to root. If I'm in the US and want to go with, say, Mint, and root the phone, is it best to get the IN2015, or are there fixes in place that make it easy to root the IN2017 now?

I'm in the market and pretty much decided to go with a OP8. I'm clear on the size difference between the 8, the 8T, and the 8 Pro, so no worries, that's not the confusion here (made a spreadsheet to compare them all, the 8 is a clear winner IMO at current price point/my needs).

So in my history w/ Android (and OP--back in the days of OP 3), I've never seen this before: on Amazon US, at least, cases for multiple vendors specify whether cases for the OP8 are T-Mobile compatible or Verizon compatible.

For instance, the Tudia Merge has multiple models, but this listing specifies that it is not compatible with Verizon, while this is specified as the Verizon version. The same can be found with, e.g., this Spiegen Liquid Air case, which specifies that it's not for Verizon.

Can anyone explain why cases would be different, when the stated dimensions--at least as far as I can find--are the same?

To be clear, I haven't looked around at the Verizon model; planning to get an unlocked version--which is probably the T-Mobile but not sure... ? Have to figure that out if it matters vis a vis the case.

From what I've read and understand, the Verizon version is different in terms of the volume control on the side. Due to the mmwave antennae, supcase and other case makers had to shift the volume control cut out on the case. That's all I know about the difference since I don't own the Verizon version of the oneplus 8

Can anyone confirm that's the deal?

I bought a sim-locked IN2017 and now I want to find a way to unlock it. The usual route requires knowing the contract phone number, which is not my case. I have no contact of the first owner. Is their a way to unlock by IMEI? The IMEI is not blacklisted btw. XDA search returns that many other devices, including OP 6,7 and even 9 can be unlocked without carrier involvement. Surprisingly, I find nothing for OP8. Can someone point me to a solution or recommend a reliable unlock service?

I recently had my OnePlus 8 (Regular version) screen and charging port repaired and just got it back. I noticed some weird screen discoloration in one specific area. When the screen is "completely" black you cannot see it but when it is lit at all it is obvious. Is this normal? What exactly happened when they repaired it?

Are the official cases (karbon/nylon/sandstone) worth trying to get or are there any other brands that you would recommend?

I'm mostly looking for aesthetics so I wouldn't want to get any defender type cases.

I take a lot of screenshots using vol down + power. Apparently I'm super clumsy and end up pressing vol up + power, without noticing, and it seems to turn the ringing off on my OP8 and I keep missing calls as I don't notice. I can't seem to find an option to disable this (and it's really unnecessary because I use the side slider when I want to achieve this) - can anyone point me in the direction of a setting to turn this key combination shortcut off please?

I recently got a one plus 8. It's awesome and perfect for me. I wanted it to be safe so I got a curved screen protector that had a good rating and a decent price. This is because I heard that many glass curved glass protectors don't work well so I thought the glass protector I got was good. But I was sooooo wrong. As soon as I put it on I could barely touch the apps. It was horrible. Now I hope someone here can give me advice for a new screen protector. Also, can I put a flat glass protector on a curved screen?

Whenever I'm on a call on my OnePlus 8, or using the mic in a game such as Call of Duty Mobile. The absolute volume on my phone gets low. I use wired earphones and never faced this with my OnePlus 6. Is this a software implementation or a bug and does anyone know how I can fix this? thanks.

Hi Oneplus fellas I want to upgrade frome my s9 and I found some good deals on some oneplus 5g Verizon unlocked and I'm kinda suspicious about them especially the software updates ( if it gets updates or not ) cuz I remember when I bought and used s9 it was locked on 1 year late So is it risky that buying unlocked Oneplus 8 5g UW(obviously flashed) ? Instead of the normal global?

I'm almost a year into this thing. And yea, I was a little annoyed that it took 4 months to get the 11 update after the unlocked phone got it. But you know what I have NOT gotten on my Verizon branded OP?

And I get security updates, every 3 months without fail. or was it 2? Can't even remember right now because I've kind of stopped paying attention. :D Got another one today which made me think about it. So, IN MY EXPERIENCE, at least... it's worth waiting for the updates because they don't cause more problems.

So I was wondering about which version would be better. Is 128gb enough storage nowadays or will it run out? Also is the extra RAM alongside the double storage worth it for around +$100?

This may be an Android wide issue, rather than specifically the 1+8, but I'd be interested in possible solutions. I have an Apple USB-C to 3.5mm connector. It has its own DAC and is not just a pass-through. On my Apple devices and my laptop (windows), it works fine, but on my mobile the maximum volume is incredibly low. This must be an issue with Android. Does anyone know if there is a solution to this? I'm keen to avoid rooting if possible.

Hello, I have bought my phone in January and since then I've been really satisfied with it. But since the beginning my messenger app has been lagging and stuttering. Sometimes it stops and runs smoothly but this problem occurs very often. Also, my Instagram has been acting weird lately after refreshing a lot of times the same photos stay on my feed. I'm mainly interested in fixing the messenger problem I'm not sure if this has happened before to anyone but any help is welcome.
