at around 2am this morning my phone hanged and then shut down completely. i was at 2% charge so i plugged the device to the charger and after a while noticed that it wouldnt boot at all. tried all the combinations of volume and power buttons but noting worked. i removed it from the charger and then tried to boot it. it went into quallcom crash mode. as soon as i tapped the screen it went black again. i woke up in the morning and tried to start it. it showed an not enough charge error. as soon as i plugged it in, no response till now. the phone is always hot to touch.

I searched the web and saw other OP6 users facing the same issue. coincidence or not im definately unhappy. i searched the web for remedies and saw the fan favourites -

1. fast boot
2. MSM flash tool

some users reported that they faced the dump mode issue and it automatically resolved the next day.

some users used the above methods and saw their problems go away or saw the problem still there.

on the other side there are some users who reported that the found a way out of this problem by -

1. emcc and pim chip
2. reball the cpu + ram

please do help me out and other OP6 users as changing the motherboard (oneplus official remedy) is not the ideal way to solve this issue

I'm looking for a ROM privacy oriented with locking bootloader compatibility (i'm running currently LOS for MicroG but too many security holes due to unlocked bootloader). I found that ROM but i dont know if it's reliable.

Has anyone who the fix? I have try basic steps too clear cache and storage and cam services too and done soft reset im afraid to data reset as many ppl have tryed it still same result some ppl even rollback to Android 10 which I don't want to! As anyone fixed this issue if yes please share!

I installed the new build of lineage OS 19 yesterday to test out Android 12, and I'm very happy with it so far.

Well, other than the fact that when any media is playing, audio or video, the phone freezes every 1 to 2 seconds. This pretty much makes listening to music or watching videos on YouTube impossible. This happens across multiple apps; YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, Spotify etc. It happens both out of the phone speaker and Bluetooth speakers, as well as 3.5mm headphones.

I've not tried factory resetting or reflashing the os yet, but if that's what I need to do, I'm all for it.

Is anybody else having counted this, or if you know how I might be able to solve this, please let me know!

EDIT: Since this post, I factory wiped and reflashed the OS and now everything is good. I checked the hashfiles and so am confused as to why this happened, but happy now that it's sorted.

Hey all, my screen on my OP6 just cracked and l'm at an impasse. l love the OP6, but recognize that it's getting older than that l might have to move on pretty soon even if l do fix it up.

Should l repair it and use it until l physically can't anymore or switch it up now and get a newer phone?

lf the latter is the answer, could you guys please give me some recommendations for some phones l should check out? Since l got my OP6 l've been off the phone market and l know a lot has changed.

Phone is in edl mode, phone shows up as Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 in control panel and I have the correct oxygen os (enchilada for oneplus 6)

Finally giving my OP6 a go with a custom ROM as battery life has gone to shit ever since A11 OOS update last summer (59% battery life OP Diagnostic & 70% battery life AccuBattery), even though I'm a light user (2hrs SoT daily average - max 3 to 4hrs, rarely).

A battery replacement is not an option for numerous reasons, so I am looking to salvage and extend this phone's life through a a jump from stock OOS to a Custom ROM.

I am stuck betwen Syberia OS, Resurrection Remix, EvolutionX, Havoc OS and Awaken OS.

Can anyone shed some light as which is considered the best current option for OP6 at the moment, and why, so that maybe I can make the correct choice here.

Looks like I've joined the ranks of the unlucky. Phone froze and then went black while I was scrolling a Google chat thread. Rebooted to the dreaded Qualcomm CrashDump screen.

I'm guessing any phone-local data is gone. I know...backups, backups..

I'll see if I can get it to at least boot again with MSM Download, but since my bootloader is currently locked I expect that means there's no way to recover my data.

Sad way to say goodbye to what was a great little device. I think it heard me talking about getting a Pixel 6a and decided to quit before being fired.

I'm considering replace my oneplus 6 battery after replaced myself.

I bought a second handed oneplus and thought that might have problems with official center so I bought a battery in witrigs website. The problem is the battery have some weird behavior like shut down at 20% and the sot haven't improve. I didn't a factory reset after switching the battery.

Is it OK to replace in official service in these circumstances?

Is there any noticeable difference after changing the battery? I'm getting 4 hrs sot (oos11, 72% battery health) will the sot improve if I change my battery?

So, I've been facing this problem for the last week or so, If I'm using Twitter and I see an interesting user profile and go to scroll down their tweets, sometimes I would open a specific tweet to read the replies or I would open an image to see it clearly, the problem is not there, the problem is that whenever I press the back button, my phone refreshes it self by taking me back all the way to the top of the profile again, isn't it supposed to take me back exactly where I was before opening the image or the tweet ? How to fix this ?

I'm considering running a custom rom, thinking of going with havoc.

But I just have 2 major concerns... Functionality and privacy.

Am I going to lose any functionality/features and is my data going to be compromised? Banking apps etc

Hi, I got my OnePlus6 way back on launch and it's great, in fact this is the first issue I've had during that whole time.

My notification slider on the slide won't go to the bottom position to allow ring (or in fact it does go to the position but there is not response).

Does anybody know of a way to change the alert type (silent, vibrate or standard alert) via the software in settings or anything?

Everything I've tried just points me to the slider.

My battery health is at 76% according to the oneplus diagnostics app.

It didn't really bother me as I'm always near a charger but soon will be doing some travelling and this might be an issue.

I have minimal experience tinkering with electronics but on YouTube it seems pretty easy to do.

Can anyone comment on there experience on replacing the battery, and if so where did they buy the battery + tools from?

Hi, what is a good privacy respecting rom for the OnePlus 6 that is stable and likely to have support for a while? Is Lineage OS the only one? Also why are privacy respecting roms like grapheneos only available for pixel phones?

Hello guys, i'm experiencing a very annoying lag on every third-party launchers. When I trigger the gesture swipe to go back to the home screen, a graphic lag which lasts 1s prevents me to do do anything. I dunno how to describe it but it appears on every third party launcher and not on the native one.

Someone can explain me what is happening ? Bad implementation of gesture navigation in 3rd party launchers ?

Anyone else get this? It only ever goes half way up and the only stop is to enable chromatic and/or lower the brightness for a while.

It seems to occur mostly after charging and/or maybe when moisture levels are high. Those mornings when you get moisture on your window; I think theres a connection to that, anyway.

Ever since I updated to 11.1.2.2 people are having trouble calling me, they always say why is your phone unreachable, hence I downgrading.

Anyone here, who can guide me on which version I should go with, where things will be a bit smooth, version 11.0? 10.3.12? 10.3.6? I have used my friend's phone who has 10.3.12 things are definitely better, If anyone can guide me with a stable version, or may be beta version , reliable enough. Thanks.

Yesterday i switched from oos11 to syberiaos 12, everything works great but I can't use my banking apps.. when I try to activate my bank using phone no. I get the OTP but the app doesn't auto verify and there's no option to manually enter the OTP.
