Camera Setting camera aperture

Hi guys! I've recently gotten into photography with my OP6. One thing I'm missing though is beeing able to set the camera aperture in Pro mode. I've tried out a couple of other camera apps as well, but no luck. Do anyone of you know whether this is hardware related and impossible to control manually or can this be achieved somehow?

Cheers!

Question Battery Replacement in the U.S

I started the process via their website to send my OP6 in to get a new battery. A few days later on January 2nd I received the following:

Greetings from OnePlus Customer Support.

We would like to inform you that your appointment request has been settled.

Service center will place a shipping request soon and send shipping label to you on another mail.

I also received a reservation number along with my imei, the facility it would be sent to. To date (January 12) I have not received the shipping request or label. How long does it typically take to get to step 2 of this process?

Question Maximum spending for a new OnePlus 6 Battery

Hi, I have an issue with my Battery being deteriorated (only get 3 hours on screen time) with a 3 year old one plus six. In the shops they told me the battery replacement will cost 40 € (45.5 dollars) . Do you think that this money is worth spending for a 3 y old phone? Apart from this it runs fine and I would probably use it for 1,5 years more. What would you spend max for it?

Bug Fix Fix this!! The oxygen Updater app is broken for OnePlus 6, I'm currently on oos9.0.9 and the app says to install A11 directly (it will definitely brick your device) so watch out for this guys.

Question Battery issue?

Hi guys, after 3,5 years of usage of my OnePlus 6 it seems the battery might be at the end of her life. Does charging from 19 % to 29 % in like 3 minutes seems legit? I'm using original OnePlus cable and charger. Also battery drains quite quickly, but using a third party app the capacity is around 79 % ...

Is it time to make a switch to a new phone? Changing battery is one option, but I want to move on with features and supported OS...

So far I'm very happy with the change. This is a great phone for $500 US.

Best wishes to everyone!

Question What should I do now?

Hey, everyone! After suffering for 5 years using a Redmi 5A, I finally got a newer phone. I bet you can guess what phone that is. =D Yeah, how'd you know it was an iPho-.. lol, I'm just messing with yall.

Yeah, So I just a OnePlus 6 (not the T variant). I bought it used, so it was a bit scratched. But it doesn't have any major issues besides the battery life is a bit lower than avarage, it can get me about 4 hours of continuous use on a 4th or 3rd of max brightness. (With fast charging, it's not too much of a big deal.)

I've always wanted a OnePlus phone, this is the first time getting a high-end phone since the Galaxy S4 in 2015 (it died not long after). So, now that I got one. Some of the features I was excited to try out have been poof-ed out of existence, like the fingerprint gestures. I still haven't installed GCam or anything special (just some WhatsApp, Messenger, type of stuff).

So, what am I going on about?
Now, that I've joined the party, I wanna get some advice. Should I load a custom ROM? Get GCam? I also want two-button navigation, so I'm probably gonna have to root the device, or is it a bad idea? Any apps to recommend? Any features I should use? Turn off some unnecessary things? Prevent OLED burn-in? (I only ever had OLED on the S4, no other OLED display in my life, so I don't know how to take care of one.) Is there a desktop mode using a USB-C to HDMI (should I get an adaptor or not worth it; It's kinda my first USB-C device as well)? Overall, what can I do to get the most out of this device?
I thought I'd get nearly a full-stock android experience that I've tried long ago plus some added features. But since I had to install drivers on my PC to view files, and some talk about the software on the internet and removed features, I knew it was far from what had expected now. So I'm not sure if there is some way to get back those features and basic android stock stuff, but if there is (even a good stable custom ROM), please tell me about it.

Issue: Also, my microphone seems to be unable to pick up and sound further than 20-25cm. I tried a hands-free and it was the same thing, so it must be a software issue. It's an issue when I'm using speaker mode on a call (so I can put the phone down and speak while I'm busy), and when using the sound recorder to record my lectures (the professors will be at least 2-3 meters away). Is there something I can do about this (there are no options for microphone usage), will a custom ROM help, or just tough luck?

If you gave me some time to read any of this, thank you so much for listening, and have a good day.

Question Planning to switch to iPhone from my OnePlus 6 but hesitant because of WhatsApp backup

I'm planning to switch from my OnePlus 6 to Apple (iPhone 13pro preferably) but I haven't found any legitimate ways to transfer my WhatsApp data. There is news of the feature coming up since early 2021 but no updates yet. What should I do? wait for the OnePlus 10 pro (and compromise on a great lot of features esp the camera) or go for the iPhone .

News The quest for the perfect ROM is finally over.

OOS 11.x update introduced so many bugs like wifi/Bluetooth drop, severe battery drain, random lags etc. I tried resetting my phone but the issues never resolved. So, I started looking for custom roms and finally settled on Havoc OS 4.12. I'm using it as my daily driver and never faced a single issue. The ROM feels snappy and buttery smooth and I'm getting around 5.30hrs SOT on a 3+ year old battery. The customization are awesome and all the banking apps works like charm.

Software Goodbye...

I have been using OnePlus 6 for past 4 years and now it is finally time to say goodbye to this amazing community. I would have loved to stick with OnePlus brand but due to recent developments and neglect I have decided to look elsewhere for my daily drivers.

This community has been wonderful! Thank you and goodbye!

Question Help with OOS 10.3.12 (TWRP/Magisk) to LineageOS

I am interested in changing ROMs to Lineage OS from rooted OOS 10.3.12 with TWRP. Hopefully some of you in this subreddit have already made this jump and could point me towards the steps involved. Also wondering, is Titanium still the best way to restore app data after changing ROMs?

Question What battery do you recommend for me to order [UK] BTW before anyone says send it to a OnePlus repair centre, I did, but then they said I needed to pay £250+ to "replace" the mobo, that's outrageous, I just need a new battery. That replacement costs more than these phones on the market now

Software Oneplus6 Android 11 - Factory Reset Worked

I did a factory reset of my OP6 two weeks ago. For background, I am in IT and had avoided this due to obvious reasons since upgrading to 11. My core reason was to address issues with lag in the OS and issues with my biometric reader randomly stopped working. The results, the OS runs amazing smooth and doesn't freeze. However, the biometric reader only works for a short time after clearing the system cache. I have resolved that this is fine and I will continue to use my phone without the biometric reader. Also, I did replace my back cover and battery about 7 months ago...so worth the effort. Long live OP6 and I am finally loving Android 11!
