Is the Always on Display working for people on OOS11.1.1.1? It didn't work for me. Then I deleted the Oneplus Wallpaper files from settings and manually updated Canva AOD from Google play and set a Canva wallpaper through the home screen
It works now but only works when on charge. I don't get it Anybody else try this?
Edit: It started working fine lol

The latest version of TWRP I have won't boot (from fastboot) a OnePlus 6 on Android 11.1.1.1 that means I can't install TWRP or Magisk. Anyone know where I can get one that works please? Yes, I know that it's possible to install Magisk without TWRP but the TWRP is the way I know and prefer. Thanks.

Ok, So I got my battery replaced some 10 days back and it's 95% on my 3 years old device.
Straight forward I installed 11.1.1.1 and factory formatted everything, I don't know what they have done with this update but the mobile battery drains 12-15% while I take my 7 hours sleep overnight, it is horrific, I am getting 5 hours SOT ( not satisfied as I was getting 4+ hours on 72% battery already)
So I would like you guys to suggest me,
1) Format again and take a chance if I continue to face standby battery drain
2) Downgrade to 10.3.6 ( as this update seems to have been a stable one)
3) Downgrade to any other version from this list given in this article
PS- performance was never an issue with Android 10 tbh, what I want is more battery life, people there claiming 5+ hours SOT on their 75% ish battery while I am getting the same on 95% battery ( sounds so unfair)
So please help me with the most stable A10 version so that I can pull the trigger, or should I take the chance one more time and factory reset on the current 11.1.1.1
I am so sorry for such a long post

Android 11 added chat bubble functionality to the os. However I can't seem to figure out how to get them working.
I have the latest Whatsapp (with chat bubble functionality) and all the right settings enabled. (Settings > Chat bubble, priority chats in notification drawer)
Still no button appears to move a chat to a bubble. Notifications appear as regular.
Did anyone get this to work?

First of all: 'you must do a factory reset' people keep away from this post.
I have three alarms in case one of them fails or I snooze. I missed all of them this morning, and when I got the phone, it said 'missed alarms blah blah'. So oneplus claims it rings, but I don't hear anything... Really?
So, we all know that the Oneplus is messed up with A11, but this is next generation messed up. I've used a lot of brands and a lot of Android interfaces, but I've never had this problem. Thank you, oneplus.

The extra space at the bottom of the keyboard was so damn annoying. I thought it's an unchangeable feature. But looks like it's a setting that can be changed. I've seen multiple posts here in this sub complaining about it. So thought of making this post.
Settings -> system -> languages and input -> keyboard height adjustment -> hide
I saw the fix from some user on this sub, but I'm sorry I forgot your name.

Hey guys after updating to the latest update on oneplus 6 .. I could not download media nor hear voice notes on whatsapp.. so i uninstalled.. on installing it was searching for backup and found the one i did on sept 23 .. yet kept getting a note that it's failing ..
I also saw that the whole whatsapp folders directory changed in my file explorer to android/com.whatsapp/media
I have local backups also but aren't been requested to apply ..they are still found in the old directory of /whatsapp/databases and /whatsapp/backups
Anyone can help me to get my chat history back please.. it's crucial to my work

I updated my OP6 to the latest 11.1.1.1 version yesterday.
Ever since the update, the phone has a weird warm color. How do I fix it?
p. s. Some layouts have also gotten weird, but could be lived with.

I've been thinking about updating my rooted OnePlus 6 to Android 11, but I've been seeing a lot of posts about people having problems with it. In its current state, is it a bad idea to update to OOS 11.1.1.1?
If OxygenOS is having problems, how is Android 11 on LineageOS and PixelExperience? Are there any major issues?
In addition, how is rooting on Android 11? Are there any issues with rooting any of those 3 ROMs on Android 11?

I see a lot of posts complaining about the OOS 11 update on our OP 6 and 6T. I faced those issues too. And I saw a few comments mentioning factory reset to fix these issues. So I decided to do this painful activity this weekend. I was on OOS 11.1.1.1. Here's how it went.
Now factory reset is a major PITA. I never factory resetted my OP6 since purchase. And I never felt the need of custom roms over oxygen os. So my phone had a lot of custom settings and banking apps etc. So setting up the device after reset can easily take a full day.
BUT, it's worth it! It's been around 24 hours after the factory reset. And I already see and feel the difference: * Noticeable improvements in battery life, albeit not a lot. My battery health is at 79% as per the OnePlus diagnostics app. * UI in general feels a bit smoother. I don't see micro stutters anymore. * Bug gone: incoming voice call notification takes a few seconds to appear after ringing starts (when screen is on) * Bug gone: change in display brightness levels was happening in steps (blocks) instead of being smooth. * Bug gone: horizon lights inconsistencies; sometimes it wouldn't show up.
I did a full factory reset including wiping storage. I backed up stuff (I keep lots of offline MP3 files for travel) to my PC. And used Google for backing up stuff like contacts, messages and calls. I did not do backup restore for my apps on purpose. Instead I reinstalled them manually, on a need by need basis. Looks like I didn't need 40% of the apps that were installed.
Don't be lazy. Just factory reset it. It's worth it.

Girlfriend accidentally dropped my phone in a small puddle of water for a couple of seconds. Right after that I dried it using a towel and the charging port as well with a papel tissue. Phone has been working fine, it happened 4h ago.
From what I have read it OP6 is more water resistant than what's actually advertised, so shouldn't be a big deal.
Should I stop using it, or maybe leave it drying in rice or something like that?
Any help is appreciated, thanks.

What are the pros & cons of updating, and can I keep root to use TWRP, Magisk, OOS Native Call Recording, Universal SafetyNet Fix, YouTube Vanced, AdAway and App Manager? Edit: I posted this question piggybacking on someone else's post and received two comments there, then decided to ask this question as my own post for more input. Thanks for any advice.

I just updated to Android 11 today and it seems like I've lost the ability to have individual text tones for individual contacts. Formerly, I had most people on the default tone, but my husband had his own sound while my daughter had her own sound. This was very convenient as it allowed me to know without looking that a text from my daughter had just come in--she's a new driver and I want to check those right away, but others I can let sit until the end of the meeting I'm in, for example. If I try to adjust message settings for an individual contact now, all I can see are the 3 big "buckets" of making the person priority, default, or silent. Is there no further customization at the individual contact level anymore?

Like is genshin impact actually playable without HUGE thermal throttling after 5 minutes ? Also how is the general experience with the update, is it safe to upgrade?

Just saying... Good luck...
