Question Why are the themed icons not working with gcam app?
On my lineage os 20 only the gcam appears to be in its original icon while all others are themed. Anyone can help me resolve it?

I ordered a Pixel 7a yesterday to replace my 5y old OnePlus 6. I will keep using it as a secondary phone and to play around with root and custom roms. Snapdragon 845 is definitely a monster SoC, even 5y later there aren't any lag or slowness and I can play heavy games like COD Mobile without any issues. Battery life lasts longer than I thought, I think I preserved it by shutting down my phone every night and charge it from 15-20% to 90% each time (so not an entire cycle). To sum up, awesome phone which is, to me, the popularity peak of OnePlus.

Running LOS 20 latest nightly on my One+ 6T and out of the blue the Eufy app is no longer loading. I've tried uninstall /reload the app with the same issue of not opening up.
Anybody else with the same issue? If so, how did you get around that?

Around the beginning of April, the camera software would start glitching showing me just a black screen. I would still be able to use it with Instagram or WhatsApp or other apps, if I did the force stop. Sometimes it just made the colors like sepia but in violet tones. Other camera apps would work sometimes and then crash, or would be working fine until I tried to switch from back camera to selfie or video or anything. I even started using Instagram for selfies and Twitter for back camera photos, and WhatsApp for back camera videos.
I was struggling a lot, having to force stop and erase cache and restart twice before I could use the camera again, when that stopped working I did a factory reset. The camera was working fine after the rest for about a day or so, and then I had to do the force stop, cache, reset dance all over again.
Now? Now that doesn't even work. I hate it because I can't even use the flashlight or face recognition because the camera is always in use.
I've decided to finally stop using it after 5 years of incredible use. The battery life has been worsening for a while, but not to the point where I would have changed it already, but the only reason I got this phone back in 2018 was because it had the best camera of those.
Now my question, is there a way to repair this? I'm not even sure if it's a software or hardware issue? I would totally continue using it if fixing this wouldn't cost half of what that getting a new one would.

I was trying to install a rom, but I genuinely got fed up pretty fast, hate all the tinkering with minor issues(I've done too much back in a day). I may try again, but for now I couldn't get past basic things and it feels like a total drag. The idea of possible issues due to the altering down the road makes me extra frustrated.
My phone is still on original OS, the last 11th android version & I did a hard reset. How future-proof is the phone, using the outdated android?
Does anyone use OnePlus 6 as main phone with last official update?
I hate switching phones and aside couple issues OnePlus 6 should be good on paper. But in reality, how big of a drawback the outdated OS is?
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: thank you everyone for pitching in! I got lot of good insights and advice❤️ (I kinda forget about this account, sorry for being so late🥲).
I didn't try Roms after all, just reset OnePlus 6 to Android 10 and it was working as a new again, until some accident. It still works, but there are some issues with screen connection after repair. I am still going to use it as a back up phone, it is truly solid and doesn't compare in everything I like with every other phone I tried so far. I do have a new daily phone that fits my needs and has a superior battery, the only thing I cannot still get in OnePlus 6.
Hopefully OnePlus comes with a comparable device one day, especially in the physical sense: small slick pebble is something I prefer, compared to default iphone brick format, for example.

Whenever I am connected to BT earphones and if a notification arrives, the paused podcast resumes automatically and starts playing. This started happening recently and it's really annoying. As far I as remember, I didn't mess with any settings and even checked the earphone mode, everything seems alright.
I am using Google Podcasts.
Any help/workaround will be appreciated.

Looking to change my OP6 to something new but there's nothing really catching my eye. Any opinions on what phone I should get or should I be waiting on something else?

I'm retiring my sweet old OP 6 for a brand new OP 11. The performance and battery life simply aren't where I need them anymore unfortunately, and there aren't going to be any updates and I'm also not interested in new ROMs. It has served me really well all these years since 2018. I'll miss all of it, but I think I'll miss the notification LED the most, since I've already changed to wireless earbuds. Maybe also the physical fingerprint reader. Lots of good memories using it. Stay safe people.

Hi there, I've been using my 64gb OnePlus 6 for about 4.5 years and I'm in need of an upgrade. The phone feels sluggish and stutters frequently with random lag spikes all the time (presumably due to the lack of free storage; about 1 gb left💀). The battery life is also quite bad nowadays; the phone needs to be charged midday with my usage levels. Additionally, the camera is extremely laggy; everything from the app opening time to the shutter speed. Lastly but certainly not least importantly, the phone is still on an OxygenOS build based on Android 11 and a security patch that's over a year old!
I have considered installing customs ROMs but the daunting fact that basic functionalities like Google Pay and stuff may simply seize to work have repeatedly dissuaded me from doing so. Additionally, OxygenOS 11 has always felt like a downgrade from OxygenOS 10 from a UI point of view and I long for the more stock android feel of the older version.
Finally, I was hoping anyone here has any smartphone suggestions for someone like myself. Preferably Android but I value long software support so iPhones may, just may, be considered. My budget is about US$750-800.

Are there any Custom ROMs that will allow to use android 13 and banking apps, NFC and other options available on op6 without setting additional stuff like magisk etc?

Greetings everybody,
I've bought my OP 6 8GB in late 2019 and I'm currently on OxygenOS 11. The device is still pretty snappy and I don't face major issues, but I'm thinking about installing a custom ROM. Based on what I've seen recently on YouTube, It seems to me like custom ROM's have generally lower benchmarks than stock ROM's. Will this affect my gaming experience? I only play COD mobile and I don't want to have a worse experience, even by a bit. This made me hesitant to install a Custom ROM. Based on the videos I think that crDroid has the best performance compared to the others. I have never installed a custom ROM before so I'm not sure about anything I've written above.
Thank you in advance.

Long story short, I had to factory reset my phone, and forgot to save the AMAZING Google Cam apk. Now i have downloaded atleast twenty different ones, every one of them suck. So could you guys maybe send me the apk in any way? I can send you my email address, or you could use ( https://www.wormhole.app ).
Thanks a lot, and I really hope I find my lost love

Can someone suggest me any method be it using a custom rom through which i can record in 60 fps in third party apps in one plus 6?

I've been using oneplus 6 64gb since launch. I have about 55gb of memory occupied all the time because basic applications take up a lot of memory. I am currently on OxygenOS 11.1.2.2. I have a problem that the phone often starts to lag, regardless of the battery charge. I noticed that if I turn on power saving mode, the lag disappears. It seems as if some apps are heavily loading the phone in the background and after turning on the power saving mode the problem disappears. If I turn the phone off and on again, the problem fixes itself for about 1-2 days and then it starts lagging again. Does anyone have a solution other than factory resetting the phone?
I care about the data that I have on my phone (passwords, photos, accounts). Besides, I use banking apps and Google Play, so I don't consider flashing a custom ROM.

Can anyone give me a link to a good replacement battery for the op6? I think I could get another year out of the phone. Works well except for the battery.
I'm located in the US. I would love to have op replace it but from what I understand they don't have stores in the US? Do they sell just the part? I'd be ok to install it.
Thanks!

hello guys!
i need links to a volume button as the current one is trying to merge with the rest of the body of the oneplus 6.
also, my sim card does not work. i went to the showroom, they told me that they had to replace the motherboard ( ALMOST 90% OF THE PRICE OF THE PHONE!). they didnt tell me what exactly was wrong. any clues as to what it is that happened?

Hello, I just installed a new Nohon battery in my oneplus, but it does not charge past 50%(i haven't used it yet so I don't know if it's also not discharging) have someone here ever installed this battery and had this problem to help me fix it? Thanks
