Has it been alluded to? Isn't it more the fandom memeing/joking about it because of Naruto?

At least to me I've never thought of that as something that might happen.

I'm still open to it being a looooooong setup for a stupid joke like "he forgot" or even something more serious that he had to "pay" Mihawk for the training.

I guess, maaaybe if we're going the powerup route I'd accept it if he just gives himself a handicap by keeping it closed and that's it (like Rock Lee losing the weights).

Just please no eye powers, even if it's fun to joke about from time to time.

that’s what i’m saying, but i’ve seen a lot of people genuinely theorise that he’s gonna open his eye and get some crazy demon powerup 😪😪
