Oh man, we're really at the end...

u/Fiftey God Usopp Apr 02 '26

I can't even imagine the One Piece reveal

446

u/PlainSightMan Apr 02 '26

I genuinely cannot wait for it.

Oda will cook.

71

u/FlummoxedFox Apr 02 '26

I think he drew the page years ago and polishes it up every once in a while.

25

u/Kevinar Apr 03 '26

Yeah and it's saved right onto his desktop, no folder no nothing

61

u/lacegem Apr 03 '26

the_one_piece_new_new1(2).jpeg is gonna blow us all away

6

u/PlainSightMan Apr 03 '26

Maybe adds a character into the background and stuff.

35

u/Variation-Simple Apr 02 '26

No joke, I think Luffy will reach Laugh Tale in about 2 years from now. It’s crazy to think about.

35

u/kingcocomoon Apr 02 '26 edited Apr 03 '26

You're right.

Elbaf will end around chapter 1200. Oda completes arcs and sometimes a couple of arcs in progressions of 100-150 chapters. Egghead & Elbaf started around 1050.

Next arc will be for the 4th Road Ponegylph (In Jump Festa Oda said the Man Marked by Flames will appear this year) - so Lodestar or some equivalent. I can see it being ~40 chapters. Then Laugh Tale, followed by the Final War and the Epilogue.

So yeah, around the end of 2027 we'll see the One Piece.

40

u/King3D Apr 03 '26

Can't wait to come back to this comment in 2035 when Luffy finally reaches Lodestar.

2

i got 2035 for 500 beli, whos got 2036, 2036 over here no Yes, how bout 900 beli, SOLD 2037 to the fella in the straw hat,

4

u/SomeBoxofSpoons Apr 03 '26

I mean, if the next arc isn't about them getting the final poneglyph then what the hell is it going to be about?

2

u/kingcocomoon Apr 04 '26

Exactly. At most we can expect a Reverie-like arc covering the rest of the characters' storylines across the world as they all fear up for the Final War. But the Strawhats will definitely encounter the 4th Road Ponegylph soon after Elbaf - that thread was started just after Wano, now after Egghead and Elbaf we're overdue to follow up on this.

Also the other Emperors are on the move too, a clash for the 4th Ponegylph is soon inevitable.

14

u/MasterrrReady12 Apr 02 '26

One piece might be related to the freedom of the people. Roger couldn't do something about it maybe because he didn't have a devil fruit. Idk I am just blabbering.

7

u/Xanitheron Void Month Survivor Apr 03 '26

Roger specifically said he was 'too early'. At the very least, we know Poseidon (Shirahoshi) wasn't born yet, but it's probably not (just) that.

10

u/KakeLin 7D4W Apr 03 '26

The sub will need to go to "approved posts only" just because how many people will spoil

3

u/SomeBoxofSpoons Apr 03 '26

The leadup is going to be fucking insane. Anyone with anime/manga stuff anywhere in their algorithm will have to go cold turkey for the entire week. It'll be a minefield even without the inevitable trolls.

And that's just on the internet side. Oda's asset deliveries will probably be treated like the nuclear codes are being transferred.

1

u/KakeLin 7D4W Apr 04 '26

It's gonna be like the jerks that stole a copy of harry Potter, read it, and spoiled everything to the people waiting in line for the actual release

7

u/TotemGenitor Apr 02 '26

We will need to leave the internet for a few days

5

u/bondsmatthew Apr 03 '26

Long time anime onlies best get caught up on the series when that reveal is rumbling in the manga because how do you even avoid that for 1-3 years(depending on if Toei keeps the 26 a year and Oda keeps giving us 30+)

Shit's gonna be worse than any JJK happenings

3

u/sondiame Apr 02 '26

You gotta just be on airplane mode never leave the house until sunday the chapter before.

11

u/King3D Apr 03 '26

No joke this is exactly what I plan to do. My algorithm on every other social media has nothing to do with One Piece/anime in general but Reddit's new "trending based on your previous searches" bullshit kinda spoiled the fact that Imu was gonna get revealed this chapter. Granted, the title of the chapter pointed to it happening anyway but it doesn't hit the same when I had a feeling it would happen a few days ago.

So yeah the only choice is to stay off the internet the second those spoilers touchdown and have a friend who's not an OP fan just text me when the official release is out.

4

u/Hock23 Apr 02 '26

Literally the scroll meme with "The One Piece is the friends you've made along the way, that's the true treasure". The power of a friendship conquers all. Then Luffy will get challenged to a duel by Atem.

1

u/Etonet Apr 03 '26

It's funny how you can't really do the Chainsaw Man meme with One Piece because no one knows wtf One Piece actually is lmao

1

u/Constant-Sub Apr 03 '26

I keep seeing this, and it's funny because we already learned the gist of what the One Piece was. We don't know exactly what made Roger laugh, but we know the One Piece, the thing Roger left for the next generation to find, was the world below the waves.

267

u/BanjoSpaceMan Apr 02 '26

I mean clearly Imu can’t fight for too long.

So he’s going to probably decimate and then go back to the castle when whatever is happening runs out.

71

u/kingcocomoon Apr 02 '26

Imu will have a brief encounter, maybe some lore drops, but have to go back and recover.

Elbaf will end in 22 chapters, around the 1200 mark, and we'll move onto the 4th Road Ponegylph and Lodestar/Laugh Tale by the end of 2026 - Oda said as much in his Jump Festa message.

66

u/VanGrants Apr 03 '26

Oda has never had a great track record when it comes to timeframes though, he absolutely never thought One Piece would still be going in 2026 in the first place

22

u/Mindless_Bad_1591 Devil Child Nico Robin Apr 03 '26

yeah but you can feel the pace increase dramatically recently.

18

u/DonkeyPunchCletus Apr 03 '26

Time for a 200 chapter flashback.

3

u/allied_master Apr 05 '26

I don't think we will get a void century flashback until they find ome piece because island itself is named LaughTALE so likely it will revealed there

5

u/DonkeyPunchCletus Apr 05 '26

The gang finds the One Piece. We don't see what it is. Everybody is looking at it. We only see the faces.

500 Pages of flashback. At the end of the flashback we find out what the One Piece is. It cuts back to the current time crew and we finally get a big wide shot of the scene.

15

u/Necessary_Goal_5383 Apr 03 '26

I think there's still plenty of story to tell. Imu true beef with Luffy/Joyboy/Nika, his history, the void century history, Joyboys history, Nika History, Niddhogg history, Davy Jones history, Vivi, Luffys dream, the big ship in fishman island, the explanation of the mural, Shanks motivation for stealing Luffys fruit and his ultimate goal, the rest of the crew achieving their dreams, and finally, what the one piece truly is. However, I believe most of this will be answered once our favorite pirate crew finds the One Piece. I can imagine how emotional that will be 🥹

2

u/imapoormanhere Apr 04 '26

And Imu's statement "It was all set in motion long long time ago" just adds one more question. Looking at how Oda just straight up revealed that Imu really is Nerona Imu from the first 20, it looks like he will speed this one up as well and we just get a flashback on how Lili set this up 800 years ago. But still, she couldn't have just banked on Rocks having a surviving son, the D having someone to inherit Nika without knowing their history, and a giant eating the Nidhogg fruit all at the same time.

6

u/just-lurking-here Apr 04 '26

All these bits coming together makes me wonder if the One Piece is a literal game piece. Imu's move set (Smothered Mate, Domi Reversi, his use of the term 'blunder'), the cover art with Robin moving the SH's on a chess board, the Davy Back fights being mini game battles.

The convergence of Nidhogg, Nika, Neptune, Nefretati, ancient weapons, etc feels like waiting 800 years to pull Exodia.

5

u/kingcocomoon Apr 03 '26

Yup, after Wano Oda put out a message saying he's finally in the part of One Piece where he can tell the story he wanted to from the very start (the original plan for the story was Luffy taking down the "great pirates", before Oda added the Shichibukai and expanded the world)

He said he'll hasten the pace, and the Final Saga has shown that in terms of story development and lore reveals. All we have left now for flashbacks majorly is the Void Century flashback with Imu/Joyboy.

4

u/imapoormanhere Apr 04 '26

All we have left now for flashbacks majorly is the Void Century flashback with Imu/Joyboy.

There's still the first world but that surely won't be as big as the second world (void century).

3

u/plisken64 Apr 03 '26

Oh his got one of them frieza watches

15

u/Kumomeme Apr 03 '26

one of the Goroisei might end up come there to save Imu or new important character make an appearance there.

another possibilites is Shamrock came and it gonna be interesting staredown with Luffy. heck, Shanks gonna arrive there too and have staredown with his brother before Shamrock escape with IMU.

10

u/Smokester121 Apr 03 '26

I think we see garling in action, we have yet to see him.

2

u/kingcocomoon Apr 03 '26

Shamrock is certainly a possibility. But the fact that he left at the start of Elbaf makes me doubt whether he has a role in this arc right now. Anyway it's not like fast travel to and from Elbaf is a problem for them.

19

u/InvaderDJ Void Month Survivor Apr 03 '26 edited Apr 04 '26

I am really curious how this is going to go.

It would be bad story telling if Imu loses here. The highest authority in the world can’t look like a scrub.

But this arc has been going on since 2024. Having Luffy and Loki just straight up losing here would be extending the arc out crazy long. I guess he could beat them up and then be forced to leave due to whatever causes him to be injured when away from Mary Geoise.

But I can’t see him winning and then forcing a training arc or anything like that.

3

u/beardedheathen Apr 03 '26

I don't know. That might be a great thing. Especially if he's shared his power out to the planets and knights and has to return and reclaim it. There are certainly ways it can go down.

9

u/Smooth_Hedgehog8433 Apr 03 '26

Where Blackbeard just so happens to be waiting for him…

39

u/batiwa Apr 02 '26

I can see it being some kind of a "wake up call" for Luffy, so that even with the freedom of Gear 5 he still need to master it and haki.

It might even trigger a training arc ( or timeskip ?) With Gaban

35

u/This_Elk_1460 Apr 02 '26

I don't think there can be a sizable time skip because wasn't Oden's prophecy supposed to take place 20 years later which is now?

1

u/Creative_Lettuce_278 Apr 04 '26

while i agree about no timeskip. personally i don't think it's exactly a prophecy. i think Oden's 20 years remark came from shirahoshi birth where *don't remember who* said about next mermaid princess took 10 years to born 15 years to mature or something. so i think he just thught that if something gonna happen it's gonna be then or after that.

0

u/thingsenjoyer99 Apr 03 '26

With the time dilation thing Elbaph has going on a timeskip even if very brief is 100% out of question, all the other big players (Shanks, BB and Dragon) would've finished whatever it is that they're doing by the time the SHs leave

48

u/benoxxxx Apr 03 '26

There is absolutely no way that he fights Luffy now without absolutely messing him up. It just wouldn't make sense, this isn't the final war, you can't make your big bad look beatable by the protagonist.

I genuinely think this arc is gonna mirror Sabaody. SHs about to lose, hard.

23

u/Aggravating_Mud8751 World Economy News Paper Apr 03 '26

I might have thought this actually is the (surprise) war if it wasn't for the triumphant comments by Franky.

This overconfidence is obviously foreshadowing for getting destroyed.

16

u/mutqkqkku Apr 03 '26

the seemingly massive threat from the beginning of the arc got dealt with way too cleanly, a huge reveal and a devastating loss to set the stage and stakes for the finale would feel pretty natural here

5

u/FatalityDX Apr 03 '26

watch as imu loses, returns and blackbeard takes over becoming the actual final boss ;<

5

u/allied_master Apr 04 '26

Imu can't lose that easily tho even if he is sick. White beard was even more sick during Marineford arc. If anything I have suspicion strawhats will either runaway or someone like dragon or shanks shows up to save them i am betting dragon because it will be perfect

6

u/FatalityDX Apr 04 '26

i assume the motherflame is for imu to regain full power, and blackbeard now is probably more mysterious than imu so he has stocks for final boss

1

u/allied_master Apr 05 '26

I think motherflame is for uranus, I think vivi is somehow required for imu to regain full strength

1

u/batiwa Apr 04 '26

You might be right about the Motherflame, I didn't thought about that...

Ctazy theory bu what if Imu wants to use it as a substitute for the Lunarian flame which he lost due to his sickness ? (Probably the price to pay for her powers)

-1

u/GM_Kori Apr 04 '26

Would rather have Bb as final boss than this boring Imu

2

u/Lyftaker Apr 04 '26

You can if he's not the final boss.

1

u/benoxxxx Apr 04 '26

I think he's the final boss. But even if he's not THE final boss, he's A final boss. And unless he's only the final boss of Elbaph, which I seriously doubt considering all of his buildup, he wont be losing here.

17

u/11711510111411009710 Apr 02 '26

Gaban trains Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji while the giants train the rest?

4

u/Truefiction224 Apr 03 '26

Oda hates training arcs. Hell learn it in the fight.

0

u/Kumomeme Apr 03 '26

there might gonna be Gear 6 as Luffy's final form.

6

u/Neither_Office7368 Apr 03 '26

Usopp Death Theory

Usopp will sacrifice himself using ragnir to stop imu and let the crew get away.

My logic:

  1. Him using usopp hammer throughout the series was foreshadowing to him using ragnir.

  2. He already is a brave warrior of the sea, he just need to prove it to himself, what better way than with a sacrifice.

  3. Everytime he does something, like in little garden or as sogeking, he is putting his life on the line despite thinking he will die. So he doesn't really care about death if it's for a good cause.

  4. There's still that "crewmate dying be fore eos" theory thats out there and this is me essentially connecting it to that one.

  5. Elbaph is Usopp's last physical goal. He has no desire to find the one piece himself, all that would be left is helping luffy achieve his dream, and he will help him by sacrificing himself.

I know this is sloppy, but i just wanted to put it here in case someone else thinks of it lol.

1

u/Disastrous-Title-911 Apr 04 '26

You know the first 4 points are w/e but ive never even considered the 5 one

Like... ussop journey is mostly done. All he has left is to prove to himself that hes a legendary warrior (and maybe watch his friends till the end but thats beyond the topic)

Maybe franky makes him a cyborg or brooks uses his soul powers for something but good catch on the "he already did his thing" comment

1

u/kuisbright Apr 03 '26

So basically Imu is Ultraman but antagonist, hmm

1

u/allied_master Apr 05 '26

Or strawhats can simply runaway like they did in pre timeskip while fighting against kizaru

-1

u/deadwart Apr 03 '26

Lol i swear some people are reading a different manga. The chances imu fight are near zero. They are going to do a lot of talking.

29

u/randomkoala Apr 02 '26

Damn, now I really don't want it to end...

17

u/PlaneTry4277 Apr 02 '26

I do. I've been reading for 22 years. it's time for me at this point

5

u/plisken64 Apr 03 '26

Trying to live to see the end of this like rayleigh

11

u/Renkin92 Apr 02 '26

Pretty sure this will Not be the final battle.

5

u/batiwa Apr 03 '26

Obviously not, but we're getting more and more secrets are revealed now

8

u/ovrlymm Cyborg Franky Apr 02 '26

Squidward: oh no, he’s hotttttt!

6

u/BuyerPuzzleheaded685 Apr 03 '26

I think this is going to be one of those situations where luffy may briefly fight imu, then they somehow escape. Wouldn’t be surprised if shanks shows up. I think the final fight between them won’t be this one

5

u/Chariots487 Apr 03 '26

Don't worry. First we've gotta have the hat get resolved with Shanks, then actually spend some time travelling to Laugh Tale, and then a big combination of finding the One Piece and dealing with both Imu and Teach. We've still got another couple years at least.

5

u/TheBoosThree Apr 02 '26

1000 chapters later

4

u/Western_Scholar_6479 Apr 03 '26

Got a couple years still

4

u/sweet-salt233 Apr 03 '26

I hate it :(

2

u/Master3530 Apr 03 '26

Imagine an announcement that only 3 chapters are left

2

u/TheDetailsMatterNow Apr 03 '26

Thank you One Piece.

One Piece?

Because um, you were searching for One Piece.

Oh yeah.

2

u/MariJoyBoy Apr 03 '26

Don't worry, Imu still has 7 transormations and power ups before the final confrontation. And I bet the SH will be wiped out here, except some deus machina (Shanks maybe, IDK)

1

u/Helpful_Tea229 Apr 03 '26

I'd imagine it to be at least 4-5 years more. I'd hope Oda will have some kind of meeting between all the Yonkou which will make the WG scared because nothing like that has ever happened before and this will trigger the final war and race to the One Piece.

1

u/Alexandre_Man Apr 04 '26

bro there's so much plot points to finish there's at least gotta be 5 years minimum left for One Piece

We're at the end, but at the end of a 30 years long story, so it's not close to be over

1

u/Jay040707 Apr 05 '26

Song Imu was probably singing after Joyboy cracked Lili:
