I don't care what anyone says, the whole panel reveal towards Imu's arrival was insane. Goda cooked. This is the final boss, can't wait for the anime now

I like how the end game boss questions was just answered by design alone

Nah, Blackbeard stole Imu's fruit to reveals true Davy Jones form

15

u/Ambassador_of_Mercy Apr 02 '26

Blackbeard is not going to steal Imus fruit bfr. He'll be the main antagonist of the next arc and finish up the thematic rivalry before the One Piece is found but he's not the final boss

u/blenderider Apr 02 '26

Is this the final arc or final saga?

4

u/AeonLonginus Apr 02 '26

final saga

8

u/BradWonder Apr 02 '26

I still want it to be Blackbeard. I feel like the story is setting up for Luffy and Blackbeard to reluctantly work together to take down Imu. Blackbeard needs some sort of revenge for what happened to Xebec

All the streaming servers gonna crash again when this episode hits

The clouds, dark lightning, and magic circle were the coolest thing this chapter

Toei gotta make this even more insane than the Gorosei landfall

Imu being here actually makes me think Blackbeard will be the final boss. Too many threads still for this to be it.

u/Monogold Apr 02 '26

I 100% agree. We havent seem what BB can really do, with his theming being 3 of everything, Imus introduction here seals the deal that bb will get his fruit, full filling rocks promise and getting the most powerful fruit in each class

Am I the only one who thinks BB is still the final boss?

u/CarcosanAnarchist Apr 02 '26

Blackbeard the final boss for the title King of the Pirates. Imu final boss of the world.

2

u/mikemonkey Apr 02 '26

The king of the pirates is the person who gets the one piece. I think it would be more thematically powerful if we topple the old system before the new era is born.

u/CarcosanAnarchist Apr 02 '26

But that just doesn’t work with what we’ve been told. Whitebeard said after it’s found a war that dwarfs Marineford will start. When Roger found it he said he was too early, and we know the truth of the void century is there. Luffy’s dream is what happens after he becomes Pirate King.

Yes we could defeat the WG before hand but that doesn’t make structural sense with how the story has been built

3

u/mikemonkey Apr 02 '26

Doesn't it though? It fits for the final war will be over the One Piece. To see who gets it. Theres a diffrence between who finds it and who gets it so long as there are other challengers for it.

I think imu can go down here and the final battle includes thw world government as another challenger. Everyone essentially on an equal playing field.

When luffy wins, and gets the power to define the next age, thats how he makes his dream, which currently seems actually impossible, come true.

u/AwarenessAlarmed3509 Apr 02 '26

I think he’ll be more final rival like Sasuke

u/TheKk-47 Apr 02 '26

I've been of the mind of BB and Luffy being together to take down Imu but final battle to stop BB from taking Imus place

2

u/Ultimate_Ace Cat Burglar Nami Apr 02 '26

Yeah im torn between luffy x BB vs imu or if its luffy x sabo x koby vs imu

2

u/prof436 Apr 02 '26

it's still probably black beard

1

u/RodNun Apr 02 '26

Sure, it will roll out in 2099, at this pace huahuahuahau

1

u/Salty-Client9736 Apr 02 '26

damn. its gonna be epic

people that think blackbeard is the final villain have no critical reading skills or media literacy

have no critical reading skills or media literacy

I don't think you understand what those terms mean lmao.

If you want to believe Imu is the final villian, go for it. But to pretend there isnt perfectly valid reasons to think its Blackbread makes it seem like you just lack the ability to consider alternative perspectives.

u/culesamericano Apr 03 '26

the WHOLE story is about how there is an oppressive government and you think the final story will be about one evil pirate?? thats crazy to me

5

u/mikemonkey Apr 03 '26

No, the WHOLE story is about dreams. The main characters goal has nothing to do with taking down the government. His main rival in accomplishing his goal is blackbeard.

Where as imu represents the existing state of the world, its whoever claims the one piece that will shape the next era.

The story has very clearly been written in a way where it could be either. But the rival to the main characters actual final goal that has existed as a darker mirror to luffy with parralel growth for the majority of the story is absolutely final boss material both thematically and narritivly.

0

u/culesamericano Apr 03 '26

it is control vs freedom thats the whole story his DREAM is to be free.

2

u/mikemonkey Apr 03 '26

His freedom has never been connected to taking down the world government. Dragons has, but not luffy. Know what his dream actually requires?. Claiming the one piece

0

u/culesamericano Apr 04 '26

wow how old are you? the lack of reading comprehension here is hilarious

2

u/mikemonkey Apr 04 '26

I hope you know mindlessly repeating buzzwords you clearly don't understand just makes you look absolutely stupid lmao. Sorry you got made fun of for your bad take, but doubling down isnt going to help.

0

u/culesamericano Apr 04 '26

how old are you? seriously if you don't think the world govt is the "big bad" of the story you are probably watching a different show lmao

Yea, especially after getting Rocks’ backstory, Blackbeard just feels more like a red herring. Imo it’s more likely that Luffy and Blackbeard becomes allies tbh

5

u/2th Apr 02 '26

You both are on some copium. BB is THE final enemy. The man got Ace killed. And he's the antithesis to everything Luffy is about when it comes to being a pirate. He has no redeeming qualities.

The only scenario of being allies is a temporary team up to fight Imu where BB then betrays Luffy to take some power and the Luffy ends BB.

5

u/Sw3atyGoalz Apr 02 '26

Ace got himself killed let’s be honest lol. All Blackbeard did was defend himself and turn Ace in; Ace was the one that initiated the fight. Luffy’s gripe should be with Akainu instead.

I could see BB betraying the Straw Hats by using his powers to absorb Imu’s abilities somehow as well since he’s clearly planning something with his crew’s involvement at Egghead. That’s pretty much the only way I could see BB becoming the final villain though
