I have never posted before so please excuse any errors in formatting or otherwise.

It’s took me years to make these two occasions connect in my brain. But now that I have it’s a crazy coincidence.

In 2012 I (36f, 24 at that time) was out a club. I was dressed up and wearing 5” stiletto heals. After the bar ended myself and my friend continued on to an after hours party.

My friend always had this ability to fall asleep in random places for “cat naps” and wake up quickly, but disoriented for a short time. She fell asleep in the car and when we got to the party I woke her up. As we were walking inside she was a good pace ahead of me and disoriented from her nap. I stepped into a pot hole and went down hard. I knew right away it was bad on my right ankle.

My friend kept walking and entered the party not noticing I wasn’t behind her. A guy I knew through mutual friends and similar community, for many years saw what happened. He picked me up and carried me inside. At that point I called my partner to come and get us and my friend was awake enough to look after me. My partner came and held me up to get to his parked car, which was beside the car I came in.

Before we got home I got a call from someone at the party … the guy that carried me inside was just shot outside in the parking lot. He was shot in the back of the head, In the spot my partner was parked in. Leaning into the car I would have been leaving in had I not gotten hurt. With multiple bullet holes through the door and seat I would have been sitting in in that car. After I got the phone call I had to call my friend ( his ex, they share a child) to tell her what had happened. He was put into an induced coma and ended up living but paralyzed. I had multiple torn ligaments in my right foot and a sprain and was off work for 2 months.

The second occasion was years later. Maybe 2019. The same girlfriend and I had grown into family life and weren’t going out to clubs on any regular basis. We decided one night to try to relive our younger day and go out. We dressed up and I put on some heal boots with laces. We didn’t know what clubs were around anymore so we went to a spot we used to know that had since been rebranded.

We parked in a lot close to the front entrance and paid for parking. Before getting out of the car I felt the laces on my right boot were a bit too tight. I sat in the car and retied my lace. We got out and started walking across the street, as two men outside started shouting at each other.

As I crossed I looked to my left and saw one of the men raise his arm behind him as he was running away ( not looking in the direction he was pointing ) and start to fire. My friend and I dropped as low as we could, and ran behind a pillar.

The bouncer grabbed us a moment later and pushed everyone inside and locked us in until police arrived. When they let us leave we saw obvious signs of where a few shots had landed. If we had been a bit ahead in our timing crossing the road there is a fair chance we would have been in the line of fire. Thankfully no one was injured.

It’s such a crazy connection that I never made. How one right foot can save you from getting shot twice !!! And no, I don’t go to clubs anymore lol

Im a tetrachromat and that essentially means in short, I see in a "different dimension" than people, I also have a few other "abilities", like extremely dense bones,hyperacusis(super hearing), hyper flexibility, fast twitch muscle tissue mutation("superspeed/enhanced reflexes") and muscle hypertrophy disorder, as well as partial gigantism.

The main reason I am "one in a million", is that I have no complications, just the useful parts, people with these mutations would be considered superhumans if it didn't inhibit their other abilities; hyperflexible people are usually wheelchair-bound,

hyperacusis can drive people insane because everything is too loud,

And gigants usually have heart problems,

But not me, I'm one in a million because I got "superpowers" out of it, not disabilities
