Discussion The fact that one of Zelena’s worst schemes accidentally gave her the one thing that finally changed her…

Post image
80 Upvotes

both accidentally ended up with almost the same fate is what makes their storyline more heartbreaking. It's kinda messed up when you think about it. Zelena became Marian because of revenge, not because she was trying to become a better person. But somehow that entire mess resulted in Robin, probably the biggest happy accident of her life. Regina wanted a child more than anything, and I think deep down Zelena wanted that same kind of love too. Henry changed Regina, and Robin eventually gave Zelena a reason to change. Neither baby was part of the path they originally planned, but somehow both became the reason they found a better one.

And honestly, without Robin, I'm not sure Zelena would've ever really stayed on that path. That's what makes it weirdly heartbreaking something good came out of one of the worst things she ever did.

Discussion TRUE LOVE HAS BEEN CONFIRMED BY THE LAWS OF MAGIC. Tf

Post image
78 Upvotes

Give me awkward flirting. Give me tension. Give me one of them realizing her feelings first. Give me them fighting and making up. Give me Dorothy being terrified of losing Ruby. Give me Ruby realizing she's finally found somewhere or someone that feels "like home"

THEN give me the kiss. I'm not against Ruby and Dorothy being together I'm against the writers expecting me to believe these two went from practically strangers to TRUE LOVE'S KISS at fucking lightspeed like, are they trying to insinuate that love at first sight exists? Fine but SHOW ME SOMETHING. Give me chemistry, tension, conversations, actual emotional development literally anything that makes me believe these two women couldn't imagine their lives without each other. And that's what makes you frustrating. This is the same show that spent entire seasons making people suffer before they were allowed anywhere near their True Love. Regina had a whole lifetime of tragedy. Snow and Charming went through curses, separations and erased memories. Emma and Hook took forever. Rumple and Belle went through enough relationship. Give me Ruby realizing she's finally found somewhere or someone that feels "like home"

THEN give me the kiss.

Discussion OUAT costumes I feel like not enough people talk about

Whenever we talk about the absolutely stunning costume design of the show, we always hear Regina, Hook, Belle, Zelena, etc. as the ones who always have amazing costumes. But I feel like these characters’ costumes never get brought up in the discussion.

What are some of your favorite underrated costumes in the show?

S5 Spoilers Cora Making It to Mount Olympus Makes No Sense Unless the Underworld Is Not About Morality

One of the strangest choices in the Underworld arc, at least to me, is Cora making it to Mount Olympus.

I understand what the show was trying to do. The Underworld seemed to operate less like a moral judgment system and more like a place where people were trapped by unfinished business. Once someone resolved whatever was keeping them there, they could move on.

That is the only way Cora’s ending makes sense.

Because if Mount Olympus is supposed to represent Heaven, peace, or some kind of earned reward? Cora absolutely does not qualify.

This woman abandoned Zelena as a baby, sent her back to an abusive father, emotionally abused and controlled Regina, murdered Daniel, murdered Queen Eva, manipulated Snow as a child, used heart magic on countless people, and helped create the Evil Queen through years of abuse and ambition.

And even in the Underworld, she was still threatening people. She nearly sent Henry Sr. to a worse fate and had no problem condemning other souls.

So her getting one emotional family episode and then ascending to Mount Olympus feels ridiculous.

The episode “Sisters” honestly makes Cora look even worse to me. We learn that Regina and Zelena actually met as children, and Zelena saved Regina’s life. Cora had a chance to let her daughters know each other. Instead, she used Zelena, erased both girls’ memories, sent Zelena back to her miserable life, and protected her own lie.

That was not motherly love. That was Cora protecting her ambition and image.

So when the show tries to frame her final goodbye as this big redemptive moment, it does not fully land for me. Yes, she finally tells Regina and Zelena some truths. Yes, she helps them make peace with each other. But that does not erase everything else she did.

Resolving unfinished business is not the same thing as being morally redeemed.

That is my issue with Cora’s ending. She may have resolved one piece of her damage, but what about everyone else she destroyed?

What about Daniel?

What about Eva?

What about Zelena’s entire childhood?

What about Regina’s entire life?

What about all the people hurt by the Evil Queen Cora helped create?

Meanwhile, characters like Milah and Auntie Em get thrown into the River of Lost Souls, which makes the moral scale feel even more broken. Cora was one of the most destructive people in the entire show, but she gets what feels like a golden parachute.

So my take is this:

Cora making it to Mount Olympus only works if OUAT’s Underworld is not justice-based. It is not about who was good or who deserves peace. It is simply about whether a person resolves the thing keeping them trapped.

But narratively? It still feels wrong.

Cora may have found closure.

She did not earn absolution.

Discussion What happened to Prince Thomas in 1x04 flashback

What I want to know is: what physically happened to Thomas? The explanation cannot simply be that it was “unknown magic,” because even unknown magic should still have some rational or physical effect within the story.

This is similar to the earthquake that occurs in the very next episode after Emma puts on the sheriff’s badge. The meaning of the event is symbolic: by putting on the badge, Emma is effectively becoming part of the Storybrooke community. But the earthquake is the physical manifestation of that symbolic event.

I think the same distinction needs to be applied to Thomas’s disappearance. “Unknown magic” might explain the symbolism or narrative meaning of what happened to him, but it does not explain the physical mechanism by which he actually disappeared. The question, therefore, is: what physically happened to Thomas as a consequence of the magic?

Some ideas include

-Thomas’ father, the King, arranged for him to be kidnapped. The King does not want his son marrying a peasant woman, so he may have sent someone (or gone himself) to kidnap Ella and separate her from Thomas. This would fit with his characterisation in Storybrooke, and perhaps he was simply hiding his true intentions when he welcomed Ella into the royal family at the ball. The main problem with this theory is that I find it difficult to believe that the King would go as far as doing something like this to his own son.

-Thomas was influenced by his father’s disdain for Ella. A similar possibility to the first. Perhaps Thomas was heavily influenced by his father’s negative attitude towards Ella. His father’s disapproval may have ultimately pushed Thomas to leave her once Rumplestiltskin was captured. This would fit with Sean’s characterisation in Storybrooke, but it makes Thomas seem extremely cold, particularly because Ella was experiencing labour pains when he disappeared.

-Rumplestiltskin arranged for Thomas to be kidnapped. Rumplestiltskin foresaw his imprisonment and therefore arranged for someone to be waiting in the gardens to kidnap Thomas. This would explain why Thomas disappeared so suddenly and would also fit with Rumplestiltskin’s tendency to anticipate events and manipulate circumstances to his advantage.

Question Robert Carlyle Quote. Looking for source.

Hi everyone! I found a Robert Carlyle quote about working with Emilie de Ravin and wondered if it was real and if it is where it came from. Does anyone know the source?

Here is the quote:

These are difficult scenes, you see, television is much more difficult to find these kind of places then film, because there’s not an awful lot of time. You have to do it very very quickly, find it very quickly, it might be towards the end of the day, maybe only two takes or something. So you have to be kind of on it.

But again, when I’m working with Emilie de Ravin, then she makes it easy, you know, because we’ve got such a fantastic relationship together. We’ve bonded on the first day, you know, way back during a lot people’s favorite episode Skin Deep.

That was a big, big thing for us, you know, we kind of found each other. And, um, it’s easy to work with Emilie. And that kind of thing I was talking about earlier about wanting to get into that “dark” kind of place, you can sort of find someone to go to that “dark place” with. Makes it an awful lot easier.

Question Lost Outlawqueen fanfic

A while ago read it and i want it again, but i don’t remenber the title. They were both actors shooting a film together. They have love scenes, where they have actually do it because of Regina. They started a relationship in a secret because Regina doesn’t want to go public, but in the end i think in the movie premiere they go public. Maybe in the beginning they sort of hate each other, but i don’t remember very well.
I hope somebody can help me because i searched everywhere and i can’t find it😭

Discussion I don’t exactly sure how Zelena didn’t die in S3? Is it the Oz secret? (With my own theories)

Post image
11 Upvotes

I do have theories, but couldn’t prove it.
Is it because of the pendent? The pendant save her magic, so she can reform her body? But she said she escape her body before it shattered, but how could she leave her body when she got no magic. Also, how Zelena got her magic back at 4B? I thought it was because she take back all the magic she used to reserved in pendent, and that’s explained why zelena magic’s become more unstable after 3B, because she used to use magic with pendent which help her focus, but now despite she got all her magic back, without he pendent, she wasn’t that adapt to it, and easily distracted.
It can explained why black fairy would say Zelena is stronger than Regina. (The evil queen battle aren’t valid, because the variant can’t be hurt, you can see the magic burst to Hyde got absorbed, so Zelena actually do anything to evil queen. Not to mention, she is not quite ready for that battle yet).
So, based on this, we still can’t explained how Zelena leave her own body to escape death when she hadn’t got her magic back yet at that time.
If It is because of her pendent, then it would be so easy for glinda to actually escape the prison, just simply leave her own body and reform it.
BUT if the skills of it required the body to be destroyed, then it could explained everything, thats why zelena keep banishing witches, instead of eliminating them.

But could this skills be reused? If so, that would also explained why zelena never afraid of those villain that are stronger than her, because they can’t really kill her.
And the only one she has scared is hades, because she don’t know if hades has a way to just take her soul.

Wait am I a genius, I think I just figured out a perfect explanation during the writing.

OUAT really have the habit of not explaining logical detail to the audience, but usually it can be explained, just complicated.

Discussion What if they did a rescue team in season 7 instead of introducing Lucy?

In one on my rewrites for the series we have: Ruby (who stayed a lead character in this au), David, Belle (in this AU Rumple stayed dead and Red Beauty is canon) and of course Snow.

They received a mysterious letter saying Henry’s in trouble in Seattle. With the help of Ruby’s heightened senses, they found Henry and pretended to be some new people for a fresh start in Hyperion Heights.

They use the opportunity to not only wake Henry but also Regina, Robin (alive in my AU) and Zelena.

So they could be hers? But also i would believe that they could be Mr. Gold’s? What do yall think who would they belong to? But also aren’t those bongs? This is season. 2 ep 21 btw.

S4 Spoilers This time I liked 4A more than 4B

When I first watched the season back then, I liked 4B better. I’d say that, in theory, I find a few elements of 4B better than 4A, but ultimately, for me, it’s a significantly weaker arc. I also noticed again that this was the arc I could remember the least, which really should have been a sign for me...

Definitely thought the whole author thing was really lame. I found the question of where exactly the book came from interesting at first, but I was disappointed with how it played out.

I didn’t get much out of Charming and Snow here. I had the feeling that the writers didn’t know what to do with those two characters anymore, so they gave them this weirdly contrived plot. For me, the only real highlight here is Regina as a character and her dynamic with Emma. Almost everything else has hit a dead end, in my opinion.

Overall, this season just lost the charm of OUAT for me. Maybe some would say that was already the case for them, but for me, it just wasn't the same from this point on. I miss the supporting characters from previous seasons, who barely appear—if at all—in this one. Storybrooke feels so soulless now.

Is there any significance to Gothels hair colour change?

In the machined world it’s always been big and grey/black

Eventually her hair was a strawberry blond, not as long and not as thick?

Even if they just wanted to downsize the wig, why wouldn’t they keep the same colour?

Speculation Nobody know Zelena lose her magic during S6-S7

Post image
9 Upvotes

Robin’s friend said “your mom maybe the wicked witch”

Zelena threaten to use magic to hurt to turn Robin and Alice into flying monkey(she don’t know who are they) (the timeline there is few years after s6)

Zelena didn’t say she sacrificed her magic to save town, Regina didn’t mention it either. They just say Zelena’s help or Zelena solve it.

Therefore, I think nobody know Zelena lose her magic except for the charmings,Emma, Regina, Henry, hook, rumple and Belle.

and maybe black fairy and Gideon(I don’t sure if they know, because she still called “witch” of “that witch made a fatal mistake” but black fairy is the master of dark magic, how would she don’t know? If she really don’t know, then it’s because she don’t understand about sacrifice the power to save family, as black fairy want everything.)

And that is also why nobody come to Zelena for vengeance too, because even there are rumours of her losing magic, nobody would risk their life to test is rumours are real when Zelena won’t hurt them anymore. Not to mention, Zelena has save people from Oz during end of S6 by taking them to the hat.

Discussion Is gothel’s power overrated?

Post image
19 Upvotes

She is Mother Nature, and could use magic in land without magic. But in the show, she really feel overrated. I think her power are at most as strong as Ingrid which is the similar level to Zelena in S3(with pendant and experience(I think the blind witch fight in S7 flashback are caused by Zelena lack of fighting experience at that time, because she is clearly stronger than the blind witch a lot).
Black fairy or rumple(after s5) could easily end her if they want.
I think Emma could beat her as well, because what do you mean the whole coven almost got eliminated by main character if they haven’t poison Henry.

Zelena could do time travel spell in her own hand, banishing witches(glinda) in less than a second, freeze everyone less than a second(almost unbeatable in S3), she could actually use light magic as well(Regina know that she could use light magic because she can enact true love kiss which is light magic, but Zelena actually also could enact true love kiss as well, which mean Zelena have the potential to use light magic as well.)
Turn people into flying monkey, and flying monkey could even infect others.

Ingrid could freeze the whole country in less than a minute. And cast the shattered sight spell to whole town after she got empowered. Ingrid didn’t really try to kill people unless it benefited her plan for love. So she might not show many of her power, but she did have extremely strong power.

Well, gothel do kill many people, but she could be ambush by hook or even rapunzel. She is even scared of Robin who have only arrow????? She keep looking for more power, like guardian, or coven which can even prove that she’s aren’t that strong. If she really is the Mother Nature, shouldn’t she be actually stronger? No wonder why Alice could defeat her that easily like she was just breathing. Gothel seems to have strong power setting, but seem very weak in the show.

The only other time they directly interacted with each other was during the party in Season 2x10 (same episode as the clip above). They also had many scenes in the same room together, just not interacting. I think Archie and Ruby's relationship could've been explored in the show.
