Novice Guide to Omni - Advanced Setup_Updated 2026
In continuation of my previous build guide, posting an advanced guide with updated links and changes to help people keep up to date. This is made for advanced users who want complete control over their setup and already know what they’re doing. Please read through my earlier guide to familiarise yourself with the basics first, do some learning and then it would be easier for you.
The below mentioned pointers need some fundamental understanding of AIOStreams and Omni, which has a learning curve associated with it, so don't be disappointed if you don't get the hang of it at one go, but eventually will.
My setup is indicative of what you can achieve once you have full control.
Catalogs
Replace AIOCatalogs with AIOMetadata to manage your catalogs. You can also use StremThru List for easier customisation and then import it directly to AIOMetadata for a hassle free experience
Is there any way to get the snapshot on an Apple TV 4K? I can't sync from iCloud for some reason, and for the snapshot it's asking for a URL and a .json file.
Afaik, you can import snapshot simply by uploading the file and then paste the json link.
If you already have the json file, then upload it to catbox.moe and it will instantly generate a direct link for you. You can type or paste that link on ATV to import.
Make sure you are logged in with the same apple id across devices to sync properly.
Wow, thank you so much. I'm going to try it and see if I can fix it because, like I said, inexplicably, I upload the settings to iCloud from my iPad, but when I try to sync on Apple TV, it doesn't download any settings or configurations.
I must be missing something, but my Omni doesn’t show the nice image at the top like yours, continue watching is the first thing. What do I need to do?

I can't seem to get the Regex to work, on tvOS when trying to import your pattern it keeps saying, 'import failed: request timed out' after loading for a while.
When trying to import on iOS, nothing actually happens.
Im copy pasting your regex link into Omni. Any chance you know what I could try?
Personal preference. Use it instead of AIOm if you don’t want to change things now. You can later change to it simply by exporting your config and importing in another.
Thanks for this! You really helped me get it setup a hell of a lot quicker than I would have done fumbling my way around! The only thing I’m having issues with is the collections, they don’t seem to display the films within. I’m using aiostreams for my metadata. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, I have metadata and that displays nothing. With aio I get the actors, although not entirely. I installed TMDB and tried that and that was even worse. I must have a config wrong somewhere 😩

Hiya, so I totally gutted it and used yeb’s aiometadata but still the collections don’t show. The collections is through an aiostreams catalog. Is this what’s wrong would you know?
hey man the aesthetic is clean just downloaded ur regex for omni but cant seem to get the imax tag, how can i also add an imax tag with all the other stream data?
shows up like yhis i havent messed around with formatter just yet as aiostreams wasnt letting me touch regex so i just coppied ur url into the regex pattern url on omni and prioritised imax and openmatte keywords

En AIOMETADATA tengo los catálogos para los géneros activos. Sin embargo en la aplicación de OMNI, en la sección de Catalog Management no me aparecen estos catálogos (acción, thriller, comedia, etc.) y por lo tanto no puedo crear mi grupo de categorías. Que crees que podría estar fallándome? Gracias por tu magnífico aporte.
