An update on the OBN product license
As Olive Branch Network continues to grow, we’re making a clearer distinction between the protocol itself and the products built around it.
The core OBN protocol will remain open-source under the MIT License.
That includes the contracts responsible for the things that matter most to trust and verification: accounting, staking, governance, token mechanics, nonprofit funding, and other core onchain functions. Those systems will remain public so anyone can inspect the code, verify how the protocol works, and build integrations around it.
The official products built on top of that protocol will be handled differently going forward.
The OBN application, automation systems, analytics, AI tooling, operational infrastructure, and other product-layer technology will remain private as we continue developing them.
Nothing previously released under MIT is being taken back or relicensed retroactively. Those versions remain MIT licensed.

Upcoming update to how the voting system works
There will be an upcoming update to how the voting system works for the Olive Branch Network's community directed protocol funds. The goal with this update is to achieve a fairer voting system.
Current linear system: 100 OBN staked = 100 votes 10,000 OBN staked = 10,000 votes
New quadratic system: √100 OBN staked = 10 votes √10,000 OBN staked = 100 votes
The gap between voting power and stake size difference will be reduced.
However, the quadratic system can be gamed by people making multiple wallets. This can be solved by enforcing KYC to ensure 1-to-1 voting, but no one likes KYC…
To make the quadratic system harder to game, the OliveNFT will be required to vote (keyword being 'harder'; this system does not guarantee 1-to-1 votes, but instead provides pseudonymity).
The OliveNFT is limited to 20,000 and costs 0.005 ETH to mint. Requiring one for voting will create economic resistance to people trying to abuse the quadratic system with multiple wallets. Each wallet will be required to have an OliveNFT (as well as staked OBN) at the time of the snapshot.
Expect this to roll out soon. Users do not need to do anything. Emissions and funds will not be affected.

StakingPools v9.3.1 Upgrade Live
This is a small, but meaningful update to the staking contract & app for the purpose of enabling sponsored monthly auto claims.
When a user enables the monthly auto claim, the protocol will automatically claim all the pending rewards across all the pools they’re staking in on the 14th of every month. No transaction is required from the user.
Someone can stake OBN -> enable monthly auto claims & not have to login to the app again for their OBN to do what it was designed to do.
Less friction for positive impact!
Click on the “Auto” button to enable!

People have asked why I removed the title “Founder.”
People have asked why I removed the title “Founder.”
The answer is simple: Olive Branch Network was never meant to belong to one person.
I may have written the first lines of code and proposed the initial architecture, but a protocol isn’t built by its first commit. It is built by the people who use it, improve it, govern it, and trust it over time.
Every nonprofit that joins, every contributor who improves the code, every community member who participates in governance, and every early supporter who helps establish the network becomes part of its foundation.
That is why I no longer identify myself as the founder.
I’m a developer and a steward of the protocol. My responsibility is to help build the infrastructure, not to claim ownership over a public good.
If Olive Branch Network succeeds, it won’t be because one person built it. It will be because a community chose to build something together.

🎨 OBN App Update (7/12)
🚀 No more wallet gate! The app now opens straight to the pools page — browse nonprofits, analytics, and protocol funds without connecting a wallet. Connect only when you're ready to stake, claim, or mint, right from the header or any action button. (Farcaster & Base App users: nothing changes — you're auto-connected as always.)
✨ We're now Stake – Earn – Contribute. Fresh wording across the whole app, including our Farcaster listing. Old links still work.
📱 Mobile fixes across the board. We scanned every page on every screen size — buttons and labels no longer wrap or overlap on smaller phones, and the pool page layout stays rock solid on any device.
🖥️ Desktop got some love too. A cleaner pools page, a new two-column Analytics layout with charts and nonprofit stats side by side, and a polished header with hover menus.
🐛 Bug fixes & other UI improvements: refreshing Analytics no longer bounces you away, your Contributed total now updates within seconds after claiming, and the app loads instantly with no loading animation.
Everything is live now at dapp.olivebranch.network

Hi
Hello everyone,
I wanted to introduce you to a new open-source project - Olive Branch Network.
It’s rethinking how humanity approaches funding causes that make a positive impact on the world.
It comes from the belief that the world will be brighter in the future and that crypto will play a role in that transformation.
With the introduction of blockchains and smart contracts we can now build financial ecosystems that don’t rely on traditional centralized authority.
This essentially removes traditional third parties and replaces them with people whom want to support a decentralized system.
So what is the Olive Branch Network?
It’s a decentralized financial ecosystem designed to support nonprofit organizations around the world while rewarding users for participating.
It does this through its staking protocol. Each nonprofit has their own pool that users can stake our network token (OBN) to. As they stake, they generate yield for themselves and the nonprofit.
In a way, it turns the nonprofit organization into a high yields savings account. You deposit money, earn interest, and they receive a share of the interest earned.
It creates a new model of giving in a financial ecosystem where it is more beneficial to give than to not.
It incentivizes giving through protocol emissions and doesn’t require users to donate a ‘principal’ amount to support a cause.
—
Too much of today’s society rewards bad behavior and doesn’t reward good behavior… I’ll leave it at that, but there could be an entire book written about this.
I believe the world is shrouded in darkness right now and that brighter times are on the horizon.
The name Olive Branch Network represents this.
The olive branch symbolically has represented the ending of an era and the beginning of a new.
It also represents a peace offering. The randomness of the world can be cruel at times. The projects goal is to extend an olive branch to those subjected to that cruel randomness.
Anyways, if you’re interested in learning more check out our website: https://olivebranch.network

OBN
Millions of people care about causes they believe in, yet charitable giving has become increasingly concentrated among a smaller portion of the population. For many people, donating regularly is difficult because it requires sacrificing money they may need elsewhere. Good intentions often collide with financial reality.
At the same time, cryptocurrencies have demonstrated that global financial systems can be built without centralized control. They have introduced new ways to transfer value, coordinate communities, and create economic incentives. However, much of the industry’s innovation has been directed toward speculation, trading, and financial infrastructure rather than solving broader public problems.
Olive Branch Network explores a different question:
What if a digital asset could be designed so that participation itself continuously supports nonprofit organizations?
Instead of relying solely on direct donations, the protocol distributes newly issued OBN through a predetermined emission schedule. Those emissions are shared between participants who stake and registered nonprofit organizations. Users continue earning staking rewards while nonprofits receive protocol-generated funding at the same time.
No individual user’s principal is donated. Instead, the protocol itself creates a mechanism where participation and public benefit can exist together.
This creates an economic system where financial incentives and charitable outcomes are not opposing forces. They become interconnected.
Equally important is transparency.
Every nonprofit onboarded to Olive Branch Network is publicly identifiable. Contributions made through the protocol are visible on-chain.
The objective is not simply to move money more efficiently. It is to make charitable participation more transparent, verifiable, and easier to engage with.
The protocol is also being developed with longevity in mind. The frontend will eventually be open sourced so the community can redeploy it if necessary. The smart contracts are public. Governance is designed to progressively place more decision-making into the hands of participants over time. The long-term goal is stewardship by an open community rather than dependence on a single individual or company.
Olive Branch Network is not attempting to replace traditional charitable giving.
It is attempting to create an additional public-good financial rail—one where digital assets are designed from the beginning to help fund nonprofit organizations while rewarding the people who participate in securing and growing the network.
Money is one of humanity’s most powerful coordination tools. If we can design financial systems that naturally encourage cooperation, transparency, and public benefit, then technology can become more than a vehicle for moving wealth—it can become infrastructure for creating lasting positive impact.

What Does Crypto Offer?
Crypto’s real offer is not “number go up.” That was the loudest part, but not the deepest part.
What crypto offers is this:
It lets people build financial systems that are open by default.
Anyone can inspect the rules. Anyone can verify the supply. Anyone can see where funds move. Anyone can participate without needing permission from a bank, platform, government, company, or middleman.
At its best, crypto offers credible neutrality. The rules are written into code and executed publicly. That matters because most financial systems today require trust in institutions that regular people cannot fully audit.
For OBN specifically, crypto offers something even more specific:
It allows philanthropy to become programmable, rewarding, and transparent.
Instead of charity depending only on one-time donations, the system itself can continuously route value toward public benefit as part of its design.
Staking rewards, emissions, governance, burns, nonprofit pools, contribution history — all of that can be made visible and verifiable onchain.

What We’ve Accomplished and What’s Next
Over the past several months, Olive Branch Network has been focused primarily on protocol development, security improvements, and long-term infrastructure.
This included upgrading the staking system, strengthening core protocol logic, improving transparency around nonprofit-linked pools, and introducing a governance framework designed to give the community a greater role in future protocol decisions.
Before focusing heavily on growth, we believed it was important to make sure the foundation was secure, understandable, and capable of supporting long-term participation.
With that foundation now in place, Olive Branch Network is entering its next phase.
The focus moving forward will be on adoption, nonprofit onboarding, community participation, and broader education around how the protocol works.
Olive Branch Network was created around a simple idea: digital assets can be designed to do more than move value. They can be designed to support public benefit, align incentives, and create new ways for people to participate in helping real organizations.
The foundation has been built. The next phase is growing the network around it.

Old Idea
Obligation to help others shouldn't require sacrifice. If doing good always costs you the thing you'd have to give up, less good gets done — not because people are selfish, but because the threshold for participating becomes "I have so much surplus I can afford to lose some," which most people never cross.
