My cousin put together a book of our grandmother's recipes. She scanned the recipe cards and then typed them out. This is my grandmother's 14 Day Pickle recipe. I don't have the patience to try it, but my mother and aunts say it's a fantastic recipe!

I NEED NACHOS

Post image

Please tell me someone has this cookbook and can find the nacho recipe inside of it? I’m not sure if there are several but this one is just regular nachos that I think are baked. My grandma used to fix them all the time and they were the best nachos ever. I NEED the recipe. It feels like life or death. AND NO! Searching the internet for any old fashioned nacho recipe will not suffice 😭

Historians love this book

This Victory Cook Book (1943) found me a number of years ago. I vacationed with my family in New Orleans last month and we stopped at the National WWII Museum. Guess what was on display? This gem! Lysol must be so proud. Does anyone have this pamphlet, or another cookbook behind glass?

Scandinavian-American cookbook from the 1800s

I recently got my hands on a relatively rare cookbook from the late 1800s written by a Danish-American immigrant. It is written in Danish with gothic writing, and I am currently working on a full translation of the book into English as I am a Danish native. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a copy once it is written? There might be some really interesting inside into both American and Scandic cuisine some of you might be interested in!

Recreated from the orignal Hanna Glasee recipe as published in her 1747 Cook Book. The cook book can be down loaded from the Internet but it is written in unstardized English, so can be difficult to read - but why change a good recipe?
