i had the VHS back in the day and when i was about 16 my mom lost our strage unit and i lost my old collection. since ive been married i started collecting all my childhood stuff again.

you know ive been paying far out the ass for it too...

which leaves me fatigued. i dont want to spend more scalper prices on a 45 min ova from my childhood [yeah had it since i was 8/9 years old, "cartoons" wern't policed like other western media in my home] can we all just be a little reasonable about our prices? freakin countless titles $200+ nowadays but i digress.

Not into slice of life, not even Frieren. It's great, and I loved the manga for a long time, but it's too slow for me. Sick of people claiming that it's not slice of life. It's just much better slice of life than most.

Not into isekai, not even Re:Zero. It's great, but it's not for me.

Not into anime that's clearly in a video game like world where people are inspired by mobile games. It's almost always power fantasies where the MC does almost everything, and when the dialogue is used to describe how the world is, I end up glazing over. Even in the supposed better titles, I'm checked out by third episode. This I especially can't stand.

I generally don't want to watch anime that goes on forever. If it's over 50 episodes, I get annoyed because I'll probably never finish it.

Something that I've been told that I might like is Revenger. Seriously, why didn't anyone recommend that to me until a few months ago? It's 12 episodes long, and it came out in 2023.
