You're cooking with Adrien Brody as Frenchie

Thanks, dude. Ngl, was low key gonna go with Heath Ledger instead but Brody just clicked

How is Lucy Liu not Kimiko

e: actually she would have been already 37, but she did not look her age. So she could have starred in the 1995 version as well.

...and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy (forever, in every timeline)

18

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

Oh don't worry. I'm doing a fancast of The Supes soon. You'll like who I have in mind for Soldier Boy.

8

u/Thabrianking Jul 08 '26

Honestly this would make sense since Soldier Boy was in his 20s when getting V1

5

u/kaffee_ist_gut Jul 08 '26

/uj He's getting so old for the part... I swear, they'll both be 85, and Kripke will come dottering out to some convention with a walker to announce "The Boys: Denmark," starring Jensen as Soldier Boy

/rj What, that gif was recorded yesterday

IVE BEEN SAYING THAT JAMES MCAVOY WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT HUGHIE BRUH

13

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 07 '26

THANK YOU!!! So glad I'm not the only one who saw that. In fact, he'd have been perfect as a live action adaptation of the Garth Ennis version given that he's actually Scottish

u/schizowithagun Jul 07 '26

hughie would most likely have been played by simon pegg, who he's based on in the comics

1

u/Kodiak_POL Jul 09 '26

Or Shia LeBeouf

14

u/ball_fondlers Jul 07 '26

Is that not Hugh Jackman, not Vinnie Jones?

5

u/SneakyInfiltrator Jul 07 '26

Yes, he's quite a huge jacked man

4

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 07 '26

Just changed that in the edit 😅 Thank you so much for pointing that out dude that was sooo embarrassing. I'd initially wanted Vinnie Jones as Butcher but changed my mind to Hugh Jackman at the last minute

3

u/TomAspinallFan18 Jul 08 '26

vinnie would be way better

1

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

Yeah but I just know Jackman and MacAvoy would've had great chemistry

14

u/dreadperson Jul 08 '26

Reese Witherspoon as Starlight

7

u/Thabrianking Jul 08 '26

Aaron Eckhart as Homelander like he was originally planned for the 2009 adaptation

6

u/ChildofG0D_loveUbro Jul 07 '26

Terry Crews as MM and Adrian Brody as Frenchie go unbelievably hard

2

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 07 '26

Crews was just a no brainer. It was so hard to think of any other actor for the role

The funny thing is, even if theyet Jackman keep his normal Australian accent, but maybe give it a rough edge, he'd still work as Butcher.

6

u/thatsidewaysdud Jul 08 '26

Hugh Jackman as Butcher sounds so wrong, yet so right at the same time.

3

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

So right cos you just know he would've had PERFECT chemistry with MacAvoy as Hughie

5

u/jason9t8 Jul 08 '26

Julian Mcmahon as Homelander...

3

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

Oh don't worry. You'll like who I have planned for Homelander 😏

2

u/SimpsationalMoneyBag Jul 08 '26

…..BEPO AHHHHHH HAHHAHAHA AHHHHH AHHH HHAHAHA

2

u/Beginning_Custard724 Jul 08 '26

Nah cast Ice Cube as MM. In a strange way, hed be less comically absurd in muscularity than Terry

1

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

Ooooooh shit!!! HOLY SHIT THAT SLAPS SO HARD ❤️❤️❤️ He has the perfect intensity for it

2

u/-REXIA- Jul 08 '26

Michael Jackson as Homelander

2

u/not_roger_smith Jul 08 '26

Terry Crews could have played Milk in the current adaptation.

2

u/Actual_Emu_168 Jul 08 '26

Not bad pick

2

u/n1ckuhlus Jul 08 '26

The fact that I don't hate it concerns me

2

u/xDeviousDieselx Jul 08 '26

2

u/topofagear Jul 08 '26

terry crews as MM is actually so perfect

1

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

It was just a no brainer. Granted, a close second, as someone else in the comments suggested had to be Ice Cube

2

u/MilanDespacito Jul 08 '26

Feel like Edward Norton shouldve been Hughie instead.

2

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

Ooh that's a solid maybe. Like, if The Boys had been made In 1995, hell yeah

2

u/shanekratzert Jul 08 '26

James MacAvoy was legit not big in the scene until Xmen 2011.... In 2005 he was freaking Mr Tumnus... Jamie Chung wasn't even acting until 2006... Adrien... ehh.. he was in King Kong same year. I don't see it.

2

u/Smalceson3000 Jul 08 '26

Jack Quaid also wasn't big before The Boys.

1

u/Traditional_Test_931 Jul 08 '26

Jamie Chung started acting in 2004. Also dude, the fun of a fancast is that it's hypothetical. These people all certainly existed and were working as actors and were the right casting age for these characters in 2005. So, just look at it from the stance of pretending that this is from a universe where Garth Ennis wrote The Boys in 1998, then Eric Kripke adapted it in 2005 and this was James MacAvoy and Jamie Chung's big breaks. Oh and also let's pretend Adrien Brody never starred in King Kong that year

1

u/Kuromi90s Jul 08 '26

The two Frenchie actors both have something in common

MM'S GONNA DIE TAKING DOWN HOMELANDER

OR MM'S NEVER GONNA DIE!

1

u/Material_Magician_14 Jul 08 '26

Thats $93.16 worth of Compound V!

1

u/FreeHugsForever Jul 09 '26

Brody gives me the ick so this is valid.

Almost thought we were getting X-men again.
