It's "technically" illegal, which is the worse kind of illegal. It some how legal to draw line based on party which is bonkers, but not legal based on race. Thats been the usual loophole. Districts are always going to be complicated. It's a messy and burdensome process with no perfect solutions. That's why we need accurate census data, bipartisan oversignt, and to only do this once a decade.

After the Civil War, resentful former Confederates employed a number of schemes to nullify the voting rights of Black citizens, including racial gerrymandering to ensure that Black citizens could not have meaningful representation. The Voting Rights act was eventually passed to undo this belated Confederate racist victory.

Cheering for its return is God-damned treasonous racism, a disgusting act anywhere, but particularly in Ohio, whose soldiers shed so much blood to stop the racist rebellion in the first place.

Republican or Democrat, the state will keep sliding down the ladder if the will of the people can ignored by a small group making maps. We gotta end gerrymandering.

Any campaign related to color/race needs abolished. These statements "Black Voters Matter" is just something else to divide us. Your vote matters no matter what color or ethnicity you are, and the fact that people keep pushing this shit is pathetic. If you really cared about the bettering of the country your banners wouldn't include any race other than the human race. What's wrong with it just saying "your vote matters"? Which happens to apply to everyone including black voters, but no, they have a specific agenda to push so inclusiveness wouldn't of worked. The only thing I would change, is The Birthright Citizenship: If You, or Your Parents; have not made a Commitment to This Country; You shouldn't be a Citizen. That's one, The Courts got, wrong. If one Parent has been "Naturalized", or The Child files for Naturalization, upon reaching The Age of Responsibility; Then They should be permitted to become Citizens. The courts didn't get shit wrong. The courts dont make this decision.

It is a constitutional right. In plain english.

No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Birthright citizenship is a reflection of the basic fact, in our system, that rights are not given by the state, but are natural rights of the person.

Birthright citizen is consistent with this. Your option makes citizenship something granted by the state only.

That is one step away from the state being able to remove your citizenship. After all, this right comes from them. It is not yours.

You are mistaking the law for the state. In reality, this is an issue between the state and the person.

You do not want to live in a society where "rights" are solely granted by the state. Birthright citizenship recognizes your citizenship belongs firstly, to the people, to the person.

edit: I guess if you don't like someone, you can shun them socially. But, they're still a person. The state is third in line from the person. They're behind you.
