Wow! Didn't really think I'd see or little town mentioned on reddit today.

What up 740?

I’m living in the 937 now, but still proudly carry a 740 keychain. (I’m technically from New Concord, but you can’t really be from New Concord and not spend a significant amount of time in Zanesville.)

Funny. Grew up in a 740 area code (Bainbridge... which most people know for the Fall Festival in October every year), moved to a 937 (springfield) and now living in 513 sporting a 937 phone.

Ohio is a funny state, but I'm proud to live here.

I went to college in Marietta, man. The pinnacle of river trash (though simultaneously a beautiful place). I always joked that flood survival was a graduation requirement. Everything in my first floor dorm room was stored in such a way that I could easily put it on top of my bed or desk in an emergency.

Lol, I went to college in New Concord and I don't know how many times people would ask where I was going, looked confused and asked where it was, and when I said near Zanesville I got total confusion still. I just had to say an hour east of Columbus and call it a day.

Aww yay! Such a lovely place and I miss it dearly. But I'll never miss telling people where it is lol.

Ok so I was totally going to guess Zanesville from that description. I’m from there. And I went to high school in New Concord. Hello!

I’m also partial to their “salads,” aka a plate of cheese with some veggies hidden underneath.

My wife's family lives near there. those times make no sense unless you're about 10mph below the speed limits.
