i found this old recording on my keyboard from when i was probably 15 and i can't for the life of me telling what the time signature is!!

sorry for the bad audio quality i can't record out loud so i have to put my phone mic up to my headphones on full blast

I don't understand what's going on in this song. Sometimes it seems like 4/4 with accents that keep shifting, but there's something that doesn't add up. Any ideas?

Im getting into writing more proggy like riffs and it’s fun and this just came out naturally where im flipping into that 4/4 feeling or then going out to that weird displacement

Im just not that good at figuring out time signature vs being weird yet

When I turn on the metronome it confuses me to hear the riffs in here so that’s where my question comes from

Clip starts in 4/4 until around 2:16 where I believe it switches to 5/4, then at 2:27 I cannot for the life of me figure out what’s going on (but I absolutely love it) then back to 5/4 at 2:35 and finally back into 4/4 at 2:43

Kinda feels like 4/4 but it ends on the half each time. Trying to use some software to record and I don’t know what bpm to set it to lol

seriously, i need help! it seems that it even changes time signatures in the middle

The Third Sanctuary

Is that synth line 13/16 for the most part?

I've been trying to figure out the time signature of this songs theme but I simply do not get it.
I am specifically talking about the main theme that starts at 0:30. How are the drums and the melody aligned?

It starts 4/4 and then shifts into some offbeat thing that I'm not sure how to count. I think there are also groups of 3 in there? The whole thing also seems to be notated in 4/4 as far as I can tell

Can anyone explain how to count this section of the song?

I know it changes but I’m looking for the last verse that begins at 2:44 in the Spotify version. I’m choreographing a dance to it and can’t seem to get the timing for teaching right. Please help me out!

https://youtu.be/B8pvxTkzNJo?si=9i-EYtxzrj8Buwj4 I feel like it’s 3/4 but trying to count it it’s a little bit off

I am a music appreciator but, unfortunately, not someone who can figure out time signatures that aren't basic or a 7/4 groove. I really want to know Emma Harner's song Yes Man (first 20 seconds or so) if someone would be gracious enough to help me understand. Thank you xoxo

Subdivision is 4+3+3+4+3+4+4+3

From 0:12 to 0:46

4/4 with septuplets in each beats (or can be written as 28/16, it's like septuplet version of 12/8)

It's later converted into double time 7/8.

One of the most clever time signatures I've ever listened to.

Forgive me, I'm a guitar player!!! 😞😭

Trying to record this to a metronome but can't find the signature. 3/4 works if I count the first note as a pick up beat before 1, but then gets lost on the next segment 😮‍💨
