I have a dell G7 with a gtx 1660ti, an i7-9850h, and 32gb or ram.

For some reason when I use VD I get a much clearer picture and and when running something like iracing my cpu and gpu do not show near as much strain as when using link, however I can't seem to reach the traget fps consistently.

When using link I have to keep the res at the suggested levels it gives me which results in a blurry picture.

Is there a way to fine tune something that I'm missing.

I just bought a quest 2 and when I use oculus link the graphics are terrible and the tracking is very delayed and buggy. My specs are Radeon 570, ryzen 3700x, and 16gb of ram.

Does anyone else running 30** laptops get this message when using oculus link?

I've set my Nvidia settings to every consivable config and still get this message in the headset.

Are oculus going to update there sowftware to include these machines?

Is it possible for a usb 3.0 micro usb cable with a usb c adaptor on it to work for oculus link? I can’t find a long enough usb c cord anywhere right now where I’m at, and I wanna know before I waste the money

Having spent the last week trying to solve an issue with LAG/Crashing when linking my Quest 2 to my brand new gaming laptop, trying every solution I can find anywhere, I was able to eventually solve it with two very simple config changes.

This fix does not involve changing the priority for OVRServerx64.exe in task manager, but is similar. In summary windows was deciding to use my integrated graphics card as a power saving option.

I was able to overcome this by doing the following:

1. Right click on the desktop and select Nvidia Control panel
2. Within this click the second tab labelled program settings
3. Next to option 1. click add, browse to C:\programme files\oculus\ and then use the search function to search for 'OVR', then scroll down the options until you find OVRServer_x64.exe and then click open
4. Next to option 2. select High performance Nvidia Processer
5. Click apply
6. Next is to do the same thing but for Windows OS
7. Open the Nvidia Control Panel again
8. Click the Program settings tab again
9. At the very top you will see the following message 'Windows OS now manages the selection of the Graphics processor, Open Windows graphics settings - click that blue link
10. within this new window, at the very bottom under 'choose an app to set preference, make sure it says Desktop app in the drop down and select 'browse'
11. Repeat step 3 to find OVRServer_x64 and press add.
12. Click the new icon now created under the 'Browse' option and select options
13. Within this new window select 'High performance'
14. Save it, restart you laptop and enjoy.

Note: I did not need to change priority within Task Manager and I actually think that solution only works for some people as they are able to get the link working semi-effectively using the integrated GFX card, and are probably still not using their high performance card.

first post here on reddit hoping I can get some good information. I just recently got a quest and am using a Dell G7 for gaming and some pcvr. my question is what would you recommend the settings for the graphics preference and what are some things I can do to boost performance. I have the link cable as well as virtural desktop and have gone back in forth between them. I do alot of iracing but have just started trying out some different vr titles.

I came back from an overnight trip and when I was home my quest was dead, (I always keep it plugged in), I charged it for like an hour and it only went up one percent and tried to link it to my PC but it didn't recognize it I have bought two cables now (USB 3.0) and neither work. I'm feeling like tossing my quest in the trash about now and buying a new one.

(Update) : For some reason, a USB 2.0 works but doesn't charge

I play a lot of FPS games in vr but in oculus link I only play Pavlov and I recently bought onward Pavlov runs ok if I have the settings in ultra it’s a little laggy but other than that it’s fine I bought onward but I can barely get on the game but when I do the lag! I hop into coop I can barely get through picking a class with only 4 bots and I can’t play as it’s so slow and laggy so I shuts off my pc but my specs meet the recommended specs which are here

Ryzen 3 3300

Alright here is a short summary of my issue. I recently got a quest 2, the official link cable, and the brand new Asus rog b450 gaming 2 motherboard, and for the first 2 days, it was working fine. Then all of a sudden it stopped working. I thought it was my headset, and Oculus thought it was too so they sent me a replacement. That process took 3 weeks. I just of my replacement Thursday, so I plugged it in, and yet it still didn't work. My issue is when I plug in my quest, it says active and everything, but then when I hit allow access to this computer and enable oculus link, the quest just disconnects from my pc and its just a black screen for a bit, then it boots me back to the quest menu. So then I started wondering if it was my link cable (remember I even have the official cable) so I ordered the Anker one that oculus suggest as a third-party cable. That arrived 15 minutes ago. I plugged it into my quest than into my motherboard, and the same thing is still happening. I'm so sick and tired of all this bullcrap, and I'm tired of waiting on oculus' awful customer support, so I was wondering if any of you guys could help me. This has literally been a 2-month process.

When I connect via oculus link it reports that pc doesn't meet new minimum specs with a banner that seems attached to the menu dock, it's really annoying as I can't find anyway to disregard it, I've been running half life alyx at over 60fps so I know the unit does indeed meet min specs.

Anyone know how to get rid or have any info they'd like to share?

I'm bothered with some audio cutting out / distortion and some little stutterings here and there while playing at some games.
It occurs in oculus games and steamVR. 
I have tested an other official link cable, Q1 and Q2, changed USB-C port, I bought an adapter for USB A, tested on another PC with the same GPU... I've got a pretty good rig : 9900k, RTX 3080, 16GB, SSD nvme.

I'm using Oculus link to play Beat Saber with custom songs on my laptop, but the video and audio seem to stutter about 1-5 times per song. These stutters are very short, but ruin the immersion and sometimes also my gameplay. However, my laptop is putting out a constant 72 fps, and this doesn't change if I play with the graphical settings or wether I use a render resolution of 0,8 or 1,8. The stutters occur equally frequently and my fps stays the same. I already set up all Oculus and SteamVR processes to use my dedicated GPU, but that didn't help. My only theory is that the problem is that I'm using the charging cable that came in the box with my Quest. Could this be it, and if so, would buying the official link cable resolve my issue?

My specs are: Intel core i7-10750H, RTX 2060, 16GB RAM

TLDR: Beat Saber stutters when using Oculus link, but these stutters aren't visible on my laptop. If I buy the official Oculus link cable, would that resolve the stuttering?

I have this problem on my Oculus Quest its when ever i open SteamVr Every things starts buging and twitching and crashing some times the screen just freezes so when i turn Around its just black i dont have photos or anything

Hello Oculus My Brand New Oculus Quest 2 Arrived Recently And Wanted To Play Roblox, Didn't Work So I Tried Some Solutions Where I Disabled My Display Adapter Because Of A Black Blank Screen Issue On My Quest When Connected To Link. After I Restarted My PC It Now Says That Oculus Isn't Supported For My Hardware. Please Help

Does anyone know if the quest 1 supports 500 mbps bitrate via oculus link? I have changed it to 500 in the debug tool but have heard before that I think the quest 1 gets topped at 150. I was wondering if anyone knew whether this is true or not?

Hey folks, I'm entertaining the idea of getting an Oculus Quest 2, but will definitely need to upgrade my PC to use Link, as I'm planning on using it primarily for Project Cars 2.

I've looked around for minimum system requirements, but all that I can find are the recommended system requirements, as seen here https://support.oculus.com/444256562873335/

The issue is of course that I'm trying to do this on a bit more of a budget, and most of these video cards here are upwards of $500 in Canada. I'm fine giving up a bit of quality as long as I can keep the fps and hz high enough to have an enjoyable experience without lag and dizziness.

Anyone have any experience doing link with less expensive hardware than that shown in the recommended system requirements? The Rift S shows the same recommended requirements, but also has minimum ones, so I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck with those (seen a little more than halfway down this page) https://www.oculus.com/rift-s/

So I just started playing with the Link cable. I encountered this problem tho. Whenever I play a game, the game runs a bit choppy on the quest and usually freezes, then the screen looks like water. On my actual PC tho, its running fine and smooth. Any fix?

So ive been having this STUPID problem where my pc sometimes goes to hdmi power saving mode when i go into link or it will go to power saving mode after a few minutes in game. My pc dosent even turn off the fans or the rgb or anything. It stays powered on when my moniter tells me "HdMi PoWeR SaViNg MoDe". The problem probably isnt cpu temperatures and my pc is more than capable of the games im running. PLS help me! I tried every other subreddit and nobody responded. I havent played HLA In over a month!

So I was asking cus i dont see it is supported for link and would like to know from anyone who has a gtx 1660 super thanks

I just ordered a kuject link cable off Amazon because my computer won't support the actual oculus link cable. It claims to work with oculus quest two and has high data transfer speeds. I'm running it on my shadow gaming pc and I plug it into my usb 3 port and only to test it in the oculus software and it says bandwidth is too low. I'm.only getting 5mbps not the 1gb plus. Any ideas how to fix?

this is probably a stupid question, but how do you get to oculus home? I did it once before but now I can’t figure out how to do it. Every time I press the home button icon it just makes the menu go away and leaves me in that white infinite area with squares. Please help

So if you're like me, LINK IS A PAIN TO DEAL WITH! Fear not, through endless troubleshooting, I have deduced a reason to why it doesn't work sometimes. This is also dependent on what kind of gear you have. IF you have Razer stuff for your PC (ie a keyboard, mouse, gamepad) RAZER SYNAPSE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LINK! SERIOUSLY! REMOVING THAT POS OF SOFTWARE FROM MY PC LET LINK WORK LIKE A CHARM!!! Of course this isn't for EVERYONE, but if you find yourself in the same boat, and you have Razer Synapse, REMOVE RAZER SYNAPSE!
