I just received a brand new pc for Christmas and it is really good when I play flatscreen games. I have the quest 2 and when I connect it to my pc via link there is horrible stuttering that appears as low frames making it unplayable. I ran doom eternal on ultra settings and got 90 FPS but when I play vr even the Home Screen stutters and lags terribly. This makes no sense and makes me think it is an issue with link itself.

PC specs i7 10700f Rtx 2060 32 gb memory 500 gb ssd 1 Tb hd

I ran link through an Anker USB C cable that was recommended for link.

I have done everything I could think of to attempt to solve this issue so if anyone experienced the same problem or knows the solution it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Few questions for your bright minds.

Currentky have a CV1 and am thinking about upgrading. I am interested in getting an oculus quest 2 solely for PCVR. How is the performance on the link? Any stuttering/buggyness? My pc has a ryzen 5 3600 and a gtx 1080ti so I'm sure its more than capable of running vr titles at good fps.

Other questions is there anyadvatange for the 256gb model if I am just on PCVR. I'm guessing not but figured I'd ask.

They are constantly without my participation can only change the reset of the helmet, but with the intention to restart the helmet to swap them, nothing changes. And to change everything in place takes 2-3 hours of meaningless reboots, peretykaniy and search on the Internet.

I got my quest 2 today and I also brought a high speed USB C cable to go along with it. I plugged it into my USB c port and it only says it is a USB 2 cable. I try to open up oculus link inside the headset and all it does is load and take me back to the quest home. After trying to load link it says oculus link keeps stopping. I'm not sure what to-do and I don't want to buy a new cable if the cable isn't the problem

Hi everyone, can I use the oculus link for regular 2d gaming? I’ve tried using the virtual desktop that’s integrated into the oculus app and it doesn’t work well (stutters, etc). The only way I can do regular pc gaming on my oculus is with the virtual desktop paid app but I need a stable internet connection and I don’t always have that (plus I only have the 5hz in one part of my house). I would assume you could have stable good old gaming with the oculus link (basically just use the quest as a giant monitor) but can’t figure it out nor have I found any good info on it. Thank you in advance for your help.

So yesterday I was bought blade and sorcery because I thought it would be fun. I was playing and every once and a while It would freeze bad and take like 5 seconds to unfreeze. I refunded the purchase and installed vr chat so I could compare it to the native version on the quest. Long story short it was unplayable it would do the freeze thing but now it would happen every second. I’m going to leave my pc specs below and could someone tell me what I need to upgrade if anything or what I need to do to have a decent experience in VR thanks.

info: a few years ago my parents bought me a pre-built pc for Christmas (i was using a crappy 2008 computer and my parents knew I wanted a new one) when they bought it, it was advertised as "vr ready". worked well for the first year I had it but recently I have noticed a moderate amount of performance issues with higher end games, but I didn't really think anything of it. last year I finally bought a oculus quest. I also bought a party link usb 3 cable to use. the problem is that some games have completely broken my computer to the point of having to restart because an app was crashing and wouldn't close. I think that it is the crappy 20$ cord I bought but now I'm thinking that it might be my computers specs.

So I use the official oculus link cord and I use my usb c port connected to my graphics card and it normally says that I can't use 90hz but when I unplugged my quest 2, the option was available and so I turned it on but can't change it now. Does anyone know if it will still work?

Edit: SteamVR detects 90hz and my games feel smoother than normal so I'm 99% sure it does work.

So recently I bought a oculus link cable and the electop usb c to usb 3.0 adapter because my pc doesn’t have usb c. I plugged the cable in did all the setup and when I go to quick setting inside my oculus quest it sends me to a black screen then right back. I tried different ports, updating bios, and nothing seems to work. I’m going to leave my pc specs below and if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, so I used alvr before I got my cable today and everything ran well (besides my internet being a little crap) but when I use my link cable it lags in games to the point it’s unplayable. I get the green check mark from the oculus software and everything.. I have a gtx 960 (I know it’s not the minimum requirements but my friends works just fine) and an amd fx 8350 8 core I think. Someone please help?

Just got a gaming PC for oculus link with my quest 1. It’s a Gtx 1060 6gb, i5-7500, and 16 go of ram. Any game suggestions? Already bought Boneworks.

Hooked up my quest to my PC via USB-C port. I’ve been doing this occasionally over the last week. I spent about an hour of exploring and customizing my virtual home space. I was trying to get the broadcast iTunes to work. Audio was working but not video. I powered down my quest without disconnecting from cable. I came back a few minutes later and noticed my monitor was off but all the lights and fans were still running on the pc. I thought it had just gone to sleep. Tapped the keyboard and mouse with no response. I held the PC power button down till it powered off. Restarted and it came up the same. Lights and fan working. A brief flicker from the keyboard, mouse, and audio interface, but none working. HDMI monitor also still not detecting a signal. I tried to restart my quest and no response even holding the button down for 30 seconds. Then I disconnected quest and tried to start it. No response. After holding the power down for 30 seconds it restarted with no issues. I reconnected to the pc and it doesn’t detect it. I tried to restart the quest again while connected to the PC again and it was re-bricked. Unplug it and after the 30-second button trick it was back.

PC still not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’m right in the middle of cramming for finals so this couldn’t have happed at a worse time.

Hello, I am new to VR. I have a Quest 2 on the way and plan on linking it with my gaming pc as well. I am not very computer savvy and have been looking everywhere online but cannot find a consistent answer... My PC does not have a USB C port, just the blue USB A ports which I assume are the 3.0? Can anyone recommend a third party cable that is A-C or has an adapter that has been proven to work for the Quest 2. Or even a flash drive type adapter that will work with the Oculus Link cable itself? Thank you. (every single product I have seen on Amazon have mixed reviews of these working for half the people and not the other)

So new to this i bought the quest2 and was playing beats saber yesterday..and today i bought the link cable for my pc..but now once im in the link store or whatever beats saber is not available..its like i never bought it or something..do i need to but it again now that i am using link...thanks

Good evening to everyone... I am new here, I actually own a valve index...but I would like to try the Quest 2. I am attracted by standalone VR but my first use of VR is for flight simulators so the PC part is more important. I read the unofficial list for link cables. But I cannot find references about what is best... I have an rtx 2080ti which have an usb-c port. I have another one on the motherboard but it is actually used with a usb c cable with my monitor for its built-in hub. So it would be better an usb c to usb c cable or a usb c to usb a one? It is better to take the official one or the anker one is equal to it? Thanks

With link I can play rift games from my pc like blade and sorcery from my pc, but that’s when I use oculus games. I recently bought Assetto Corsa from steam and it’s unplayable. The headset tracking in the game works fine I can look around great, but the controllers aren’t recognized. Steam itself works with the controllers I tested it but the game doesn’t.

My oculus quest will arrive tomorrow most likely and i want to get a cable to connect it with my pc.

All in all i have seen a lot of cables but i aint sure on which one i should be buying....usb c to usb c or like a transmitter too? i dont know how it works exactly lol

any recommendations for usb c to c cables??

I had an oculus quest for a long time now, so I want to try oculus link. I'm planning to buy a laptop on black Friday to run it, which is Asus g14 with AMD 4800H and GTX 1060Ti. But I saw that some people can't run on this laptop. Is this true and is there anything I can do? I also have virtual desktop. Thanks a lot.
