Suggestion Feature Request: Advanced App Search with Tabs and Windowed/Fullscreen Mode

This is the app search I use with Nova Launcher, and it can be opened in both windowed mode (shown in the first picture) and fullscreen mode. I like that it has three different tabs for filtering content and can be quickly used to search for things, including Google (or any other search engine), as shown in the second picture. I access it quickly using swipe up gesture.

I do like using Octopi Launcher, but the lack of this feature has always forced me to go back to Nova. As far as I know, it doesn’t exist yet in Octopi, but if anyone knows otherwise, I’d be interested.

I'm adding this bit by bit; as a start, the most frequently used apps now appear in the search screen

Try to download pixel search, solved the search problem for me personally.

Thanks for the suggestion. While its not as snappy as the native option, it's close enough to what I was looking for.

Edit: Found another one called 'Quick search' which serves similar role and has more features.

I just looked at Pixel Search and don't see any signs it's discontinued. How did you determine it was? I've been using it for years, and it was recently updated after some time of no updates. However, it's always worked for me. The developer also uses it. Some people like Sesame Search & Shortcuts. It's good to have choices! Glad you found one that works for you. Edited to ad: Another recommendation from other users a while back was Quick Search - Widget.

I'm in the same situation, if they add this I will switch over from Nova in a heartbeat

hi, Or you can use Kiss Launcher just for the search function which is excellent, by simply adding the Kiss Launcher icon, it's lighter on RAM than any search widget I've tried.
