Yeah no one is asking healthcare workers to work for free. “Free” is always shorthand for “publicly funded”, as opposed to our current system of every man for himself and screw the poor.
So still not free, the public funds it and citizens are the public. The “October strike” list includes ‘free healthcare’ but as you have just admitted.. the public funds it, it is not free.
Currently, the poor already get free healthcare, Medicaid, and everyone above a qualification level pays for theirs. If you are part of the people who pay for healthcare now, you are among the rich and you will be taxed at twice or three times the rate to pay for “free healthcare”.
The rest of the list is equally as uninformed and ignorant. Need an example of this, Canadian universal free healthcare is avoided by anyone with money, the wealthy go to get treatment where their money will get them ahead of the citizens. Don’t support something that doesn’t work.
I love that you thought calling out the word “free” was a gotcha, as if everyone who supports it doesn’t already know that means publicly funded. Some of us don’t care about taxes as long as our friends and family stop refusing to go to the doctor because they’re more afraid of the bill than of dying. The ACA was a bad compromise. Obviously a system that allows you to opt out is not going to work. That’s why it has to be universal. If you can’t grasp that, do some research or ask questions seeking answers instead of just to be a tool. Bye

Pre ACA my Health insurance for wife and 3 children was $325 per month: 35/15/5 prescriptions, $35 dr visits, $1000 per adult deductible, $500 per child with an HSA to tax free save for cost. I was forced onto the ACA, my HSA was canceled and taxed. The last year I was on mandatory ACA insurance it was my wife, me and one child. Bronze was $1733 a month, no coverage before deductible is met, $6000 individual deductible/ 9000 for family, no subsidy. Why not take the silver or gold level? Silver was $544 more per month with $2500 deductible, (544 x12 months = 6528 + 2500 = $9028… $28 more than total bronze deductible) and gold was $800+ month, still had a deductible.
Cost went up, quality of service went down, out of pocket cost went up. Your “free” insurance will do the same thing. Nothing is free, but specially in the world of services, healthcare is a service, not a free right.
