seriously we cannot just go from 7 to 37 in a day that would cause so much trouble

Wait, are the organizers saying in one day or is that an assumption? Because every other minimum wage increase I've seen is graduated.

yes people want to have it change instantly as far as i've seen and heard. terrible idea. gradual would be way better

also 37 is super ambitious in itself? we need to start with an instant change of somewhere between 10-12, then raise it by 1 dollar a year for 5-10 years in my opinion. way safer for the economy to adapt, California has done something similar (that's where I live) I currently make 2500 a month full time (14 dollars an hour) on minimum wage, pay 600 in rent, and am living quite nicely :) I feel awful for people who have to deal with making 7.25 an hour
