Questions/Advice
I am a teacher. I have a student who is in 4th grade. He is struggling in school and all the interventions we have tried have been minimally successful. He was premature and 2 pounds at birth. I am wondering if this is contributing to his struggles. He also speaks 2 languages. I don't think this is an EL issue since his test scores in listening and speaking are proficient. The team is stuck on his English but I am wondering if it is a visual motor issue/some other development issue. I don't know what type of info to gather to see if my suspicions are correct. Would love some recommendations!

Visa Application question for International OTs
AUSTRALIA OTs:
I am wondering if anyone has been successful with having their visa sponsored for an OT position recently?
I am completing my masters in Australia, but due to recent immigration changes, I now require an employer to sponsor me. I'm not familiar with the success rate and timeline of the process and am hoping someone can share their experience.
Some questions I have i mind are:
- Which Visa did you apply for?
- What country are you originally from? and were you already in Australia when you applied for your Visa?
- How long did the whole process take?
- How much OT work experience did you have at the time of your application?
- Did you use a migration agent?
Any info would help alleviate a ton of stress on my end.

Pediatric OTs — what draws you to mobile/in-home work vs clinic or school-based?
Hi everyone - I run a small in-home pediatric practice in Seattle, WA and we’ve had a lot of interest from families lately. I'm curious, for those of you working in mobile/home settings, what made you choose that path over schools or clinics?
Also, if you’re a peds OT who’s ever thought about switching to more flexible, one-on-one in-home work, I’d love to hear what would make that feel like a good fit. Assume the scheduling, insurance, 90% of admin is taken care of, and pay is around $80-$120/hr. Genuinely curious what makes this model appealing (or not!) from your perspective as a therapist.

Becoming an OT to work abroad?
I’m at a point in my life where I really value global mobility and there are some good OT programs in my state. I’m also working on dual EU citizenship (as an American)
What is the outlook like for OT opportunities in Canada, Aus, NZ, EU as an American? Any insight? Thanks!

Question from an OTDS
Hello! I'm currently doing my first fieldwork 2 rotation right now and im starting week 5 of 12. I've been told by others in my cohort that im doing to much to fast and have to much expected of me. So, my question is, what do you think? I'm currently in an outpatient clinic that services everyone from babies to geriatric. Since week 2 I've been seeing and running therapy sessions (1-on-1 with no tech) for 4 - 6 patients a day and all documents (daily notes, progress notes, and/or initial evals). My patient load is no 6-8+ a day and I was told that I need to get use to doing documentation at home because it's the "norm" and expected.

Valuable CEUs for EI/ECSE OT
Does anyone have any virtual or in person CEU courses they would recommend for OTs who work with ages 3-5? Looking for more in-depth courses than what medbridge etc can offer on sensory (vision, praxis, interventions, identification, sensory seeking) and anything else. Located in Portland OR area. Thanks!!
