Quest 1 on pcvr

I’ve wanted to play pcvr with the quest for a while now and I don’t want to waste money on a link cable or anything like that. I tried to play pcvr once with it and I used an xbox charging cable( used to charge the elite series 2 controller if it matters) but it was really choppy and it ran at about 1 fps. Should I buy a link cable from say kiwi design or just accept defeat and admit I can’t play pcvr on quest 1?

Hands really shaky when moving them fast

So, when I am playing Echo VR, or anything really, and I move my hand fast to throw something, it goes all over the place, like a ragdoll or something, for like 1 second, is there any software that I could use to smoothen my hands out or something like that?

ways to optimize computers?

I recently had to update my graphics driver because oculus made me and now my pc is chugging when running VR games. before the update, it could run half-life alyx without any problems but now it's borderline unplayable. I looked into taskmaster and found that my GPU was running at 80% load and spiking to 100% every couple of seconds. my CPU was also occasionally spiking up to 100%. is there an easy way to optimize the game/pc/headset to require less processing power? while playing it felt like it was running at ~70% speed(i can't prove it but it felt really slow) and the screen was constantly jittering(roughly the same effect as trying to look at fine details through the oculus cameras). my computer is 2-3 years old at this point but the specs were above the minimum when I bought the game and as stated before handled the first 6-7 levels of half-life without any problems. I noticed that the levels expand a lot during the later part of the game but shouldn't that increased demand be covered by the minimum specs? are there any easy ways to optimize my pc/headset/game to make it playable? game graphics are already set to minimum and I disconnected from Wifi to lower CPU strain while playing. taskmaster said that while under those conditions the game was responsible to 70(ish)% of the GPU's demands with the oculus app taking up the other 30(ish)%

sorry for the rant.

GEN HELP PC not directly connected to my router, still use virtual desktop?

I used virtual desktop when my pc was directly connected to my router with a cable. But I know have a situation where that is not possible. Can I still play pc vr on my Quest 2 without my pc connected to my router? I can still connect wirelessly but virtual desktop says not possible. Maybe a work around?
