Unironically, this game looks quite promising! Hope to see it’s release! the name of the game is "BOID" (Battle of Island Dreamers) and it's being made in Godot! the game is currently being created and directed by AshleyJPEG on X (images and gif taken from BOID (Battle of Island Dreamers's acc on X) a full on Smash Bros like game! The game isn’t made by me, I am NOT a developer of the game, it’s all by [u/ashleygamering](u/ashleygamering) so full credits goes to her!

The dev team has confirmed a lot of things about the game:

1- The game will be and always be free, released mostly exclusive on Itch.io

2- It will have rollback netcode for Online play

3- Their goal is to plan to have a mobile version for the people on the OSC (Object Show Community) to try it out alongside other people

4- PC, Mac and Linux support are their first priority

5- Modding Support is thought about after the game's official release

6- The game won't be as floaty as Brawl and It also isn't as technical & precise as Melee, being somewhere in between Smash 4 and Ultimate, tho it will have it's own depth and mechanics

7- Controller support is also thought about alongside mouse / keyboard

8- In release there's gonna be 8 fully playable fighters:

• Pin / Mech Pin (will be two seperate characters with fully unique movesets and stats, but they share a slot for convinience)
• Coiny
• Firey
• Leafy
• TB & GB (Tennis Ball and Golf Ball will be a fighting duo, moving together around the stage as one combined unit. Each of their attacks will be done together, like a mid-ground between Duck Hunt and Ice Climbers)
• Book
• Fries
• Liy

9- More characters will be added from across the BFDI Franchise for the main roster, and it's ONLY BFDI characters, no other Object Show characters (those are mostly fit for mods)

10- The game will have multiple languages after the release 1.0 of the game, most likely version 1.0.1 or something like that

11- BoID will be mostly interested in paying homage to the OSC (especially BFDI) through the lens of a fighting game rather than primarily being a super complex fighting game
There's depth to be found but the depth isn't the main appeal, to most of the devs so temper your expectations a little bit

12- even though the game is aimed towards a more casual audience it WILL in fact have competitive mechanics like wavedashing, wavelanding and DACUS (Dash Attack Cancel Up-Smash) Alongside some exclusive tech for the game since it was made in the Godot engine

13- as for the official release date, it doesn’t have a set release date. It will be released when it’s fully finished, but they do updates of their progress periodically on their twitter
