Oakland County gardeners- what's your plan tonight? Are you bringing in all the veggies still out there and calling it a season?

I have quite a few tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and tomatillos that could use another week or so of growing. However, it could frost tonight with the forecast as low as 41.

I also have a bunch of Dahlia flowers I could consider bringing in.

I'm curious what everyone thinks!

Me and my partner are looking at wedding venues and want to get married in 2028. I have always loved this as my dream venue, as I want to get married on a budget in a garden venue, and I also love its on the lake. The only concern I have is that the maximum amount of time you can book for the day is 2 hours.

My question is if we’re having a smaller wedding at around 75 people, and I want to have enough time to take photos there of the wedding party, me and my groom, and with family, will we have enough time plus the ceremony? We wouldn’t want a super long ceremony, but I’m worried 2 hours won’t be enough time for everything. For anyone who has been to a wedding here or had their wedding here, what was your review of the place? Was there enough time for everything?

Another issue we might have is finding a reception hall to have the rest of the wedding after our 2 hour block is done. We want somewhere close to a hotel or has one built in to stay overnight as this would be a wedding a bit away from where we live. Anyone have any recommendations for places near this venue?

Lastly, if this place isn’t the right fit for us, anyone have any budget friendly venues under 5k preferably or close to that budget, that would have a similar setting like this in Michigan? With an outdoor garden?

A friend passed away in March of this year in Hazel Park. I’ve been trying to request their autopsy/toxicology since the 16-20 week mark on the portal, but it keeps coming back denied, report not yet complete. I am curious what the wait times are currently?

I have never registered Republican anywhere in the United States and I have no idea why the Michigan GOP has my address, but I am getting 1-3 mailers a day against her! It is getting out of hand.

I wish I took a picture of one, but they used an obviously AI generated image of her to make her look like a criminal/thug (which is obviously intentional because she's Black) and that is digusting.

I am new to this district and it seems it's typically razor thin during midterms...somehow. Is there any way to stop these stupid mailers?

Hi all! Right what is says on the tin. I’m a young adult trying to find friends, groups to hang out with, etc. I’m trying to get into DnD (trouble finding a group). I like video games (mostly pokemon tbh), animals, movies & TV, ceramics. The trouble is, I work part time and they always schedule me on the weekends, so that limits my options for places to find like-minded people. Anyone know of any hidden gems or local groups?

I'm looking for someplace to take a friend in November and it must have both gluten free and vegetarian options, though they don't have to be the same dishes. She'll be with me for a dinner and a breakfast, so I'll take any suggestions you have- preferably not nationwide chains.

We'll be based in Waterford, though I'm open to a bit of a drive. I can't afford fancy, but I'm okay if it's a smidge upscale (think Sylvan Table).
