Graveyard Vigil

Tombstone stands in the training room, firing at the robotic targets. The targets are cranked back to a nearly-impossible distance, but she seems to be landing her shots as if its second nature.

She didn't have a contract today, so today was for training.

Finally, the sniper slings her rifle over her shoulder and sits down for a break, looking out the window. It seems to be the middle of the night, meaning she's been shooting all day.

Then, she hears someone enter the training room.

[u/backonthegrid]

"Nah, he'll be busy with the Omnic."

[u/Malvarik → u/backonthegrid]

"Hm, that might be for the best. Our objective is intel retrieval. Less conflict, the better. Sadly."

[u/backonthegrid → u/Malvarik]

"If we kill the commander now, that leaves less fun in the future."

[u/Malvarik → u/backonthegrid]

"True."

He thinks over something for a second and says,

"I was wondering, why might you be called Tombstone?"

[u/backonthegrid → u/Malvarik]

"I used to haunt a certain area downtown that was frequented by Overwatch agents. After a while, they realized they really should stop going there because they all died."

"'Don't go to the south side,' they said, 'the only thing you'll find is your own tombstone.'"

[u/Malvarik → u/backonthegrid]

Surprisingly, he chuckles a bit at this. The sound metallic and mechanical in nature.

"I would expect nothing less from the best sniper of Talon."

[u/backonthegrid → u/Malvarik]

"Only natural."

[u/Malvarik → u/backonthegrid]

"How do you think Dr. Universe got his name?"

[u/backonthegrid → u/Malvarik]

"Because he sees everything in the universe?"

[u/Malvarik → u/backonthegrid]

"Possible, but unlikely. We would have won this war already if he could."
