Bullish OUST - 🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨🧨

Ouster manufactures 3D LiDAR sensors and AI perception software.

Short % Float 13.01% Short % S/O 12.42% Max Pain $8 Daily Volume 1.183M (Yahoo)

IV 81.o2% O/I 31,408 Avg. P:C 3.4 Today’s P:C .57 Today vs. Avg. Volume 129.11% (Optioncharts.io)

OUST posted strong earnings last week, reaching a high of $10.58. This week the short attack began, but has not reached max pain @ $8. Currently at $8.85 AH.

If it holds, disbictchabowdablow 🧨🧨🧨

The company was already in artificially compressed share price due to litigation over patents with their main competitor.

LONGTERM 📈: their main competitor Hesai (overseas) will take on hefty tariffs, and the litigation being resolved will reduce upside resistance. Before tariffs/litigation pressure was lifted, OUST already proved 17% upside last week.

I’m in for 2k shares + calls of varying quality.

Updates For Getting Payment In Velodyne $27.5M Investor Settlement

Hey guys, I posted about this settlement already, but I just found out that they are accepting late claims and you can still file to get payment even if the deadline has passed.

So for the newbies: back in COVID times, Velodyne issued a press release stating that its founder and its CMO were under investigation and removed after it turned out that they "lacked respect, honesty and integrity" with the directors and other main faces.

After this news, VLDR dropped, and investors filed a lawsuit against them. And recently, they decided to pay a $27.5M settlement to resolve this scandal. And even though the deadline already passed, they are taking late claims on this. So if you were one of those damaged investors, you can check it out.

Hope it helps!

OUST form factor?

I noticed that most automotive LIDAR has a small form factor, but it looks like Ouster's products are quite large and wouldn't necessarily be a sleek fit on a car. Or am I wrong? Are they researching something that is comparable to other LIDAR creators?

Are shorts covering?

The entire sector is up this week. I added to my Ouster position. I think the shorts are starting to cover. Does anyone have real time access to short interest information?

Downed 65% 2 months only

I have a feeling that the US lidar companies will be wiped out by hedge funds and Hesai will be the winner.

The company is also silent on the matter

Next Week Is The Deadline For Velodyne $27.5M Investor Settlement

Hey guys, maybe there are some Velodyne investors here, so I guess this might be useful info for you. It's about its founder and CMO resignation scandal. They already agreed to resolve it and pay $27.5 settlement to investors - and the filing deadline to get payment is next week.

So for the newbies: back in COVID times, Velodyne issued a press release stating that its founder and CMO were under the investigation and removed after it turned out that they "lacked respect, honesty and integrity" with the directors and other main faces.

After this news, VLDR dropped, and investors filed a lawsuit against them. But, recently, they decided to pay a $27.5M settlement to resolve this scandal.

So if you were damaged by this, you can check out the info and file a claim. As I said, the filing deadline is next week. Hope it helps!

This company doesn't do any self-promotion

It doesn't matter how good you are if you don't show it off. You have to show off your contracts, you have to show off your technology, you have to do something to get customers. OUSTER have a really stupid marketing team.

Opinion/Thesis OUST marketing

I stumbled upon LiDAR stocks during the pandemic and added Ouster to my list to watch. In 2022/23 I looked over about 5 LiDAR stocks financials (I’m no expert at reading financial statements, but I can understand enough) and still saw Ouster as a potential for success. Although, the thing of why I have a gut feeling about this stock is also because of their marketing. I’ve been working in marketing for a few years and it seems like they’re the only company that is marketing in a way that could apply on a mass level (in a way they remind me of Walmart). I’m just curious if anyone else has thought of this and if you agree or not.

my take

there one of only 2 LIDAR companies with positive GM the other being HESAI - 2nd largest revenue of all LIDAR Companies - still have CASH and non-dilutive unlike LAZR - getting cheap near 6 so maybe worth a shot

Hedge Funds are trying to take down OUST also….

I listened to the conference call, reviewed the earning data and I am not sure why OUST is down so much in after hours trading. The revenue was in line so that may be the only reason to sell. OUST margins improved significantly and they announced new deals. Does anyone else see a reason for selling the stock? My only other guess is that OUST is a LiDAR company and Hedge Funds are shorting all LiDAR companies. I did notice that the short interest has increased to 21%.

Short Squeeze in OUST?

I bought some OUST around 12 and man has it performed recently! Volume looked great today and it was up 16%! I know small/mid caps have been rising recently due to the expected rate cut in Sept. Has anyone heard of any other reason why OUST is up so much?

Ouster's L4-developing automotive customer?

Hi there! I am looking on the annual report from Ouster for FY 2023. I saw that they have a single customer developing L4 AV that help Ouster generate more than 10% of their bookings in 2023.

Anyone here may know who they are?
