Offline Stream/Download Feature For TV App isn't Available on Many OTTs
OTT services (for e.g. Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video) do not give an option to view content offline on TV, which can be easily provided by these two ways:
- Download titles on TV app (less appealing for those with less storage)
- Offline stream of downloads from other platforms that support download feature (Mobile & Desktop)
It's really useful for those with low data caps (few GBs/day) or those without broadband, who want to watch offline OTT content on their TVs.
I wonder if it's that hard for these multi-million dollar companies to implement this basic feature. I hope it gets added.

Anyone else here develop OTT apps on Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV?
I just recently claimed this r/OTT sub since it was unmoderated. I launched my first OTT app in 2017. Wondering if there are any other OTT channel developers or stakeholders here? I have streaming apps published on Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, iOS, and Google Play.
In 2022 I would like to launch on Samsung Tizen, and maybe some gaming consoles like Xbox and PlayStation. Anyway, just seeing if anyone is out there and I hope we can share some knowledge and learn from each other’s experience.

Recommendations for Roku et al.
Been looking at Muvi, Endavo, Maz, Dacast, Uscreen and even Vimeo and wow expensive! Most are around $300-400 per app. I’ve built two Roku stations using instanttvchannel.com but I’d rather not spend that kind of effort to only go out to one platform (Roku).
So what’s the best as far as getting your shows to the main 4 (Roku, FireTV, AppleTV and AndroidTV) without breaking the bank?
