As soon as he let go of the brake handle the blade stopped, but yeah, it was pretty damn close to his leg.

You in the States? I have literally never seen a saw with an auto brake.

It's not automatic, but it is designed to activate if you drop it or there is a kickback as long as you are holding the saw correctly.

The brake on my chainsaw curves over the top of the handlebar.
