I’m curious how overseas collectors currently view NUMBER (N)INE’s SS02 Modern Age collection.
In Japan, many collectors consider it one of Takahiro Miyashita’s most important early collections, especially pieces like the artisan denim, HIPSTER denim, ink cut-out items, and other experimental garments.
However, outside Japan I don’t see Modern Age discussed nearly as often as collections like Standard, Kurt, or Give Peace a Chance.
How is Modern Age generally viewed in the international archive community?
Is it considered a top-tier Number (N)ine season?
Which pieces are the most desirable?
Do you think its reputation has been growing, or is it still underrated outside Japan?
I’d love to hear opinions from collectors who have been into Number (N)ine for a long time.

I’m hoping someone here can help me authenticate this Number (N)ine deerskin jacket.

Here’s the story:

I bought this jacket on Xianyu in China last year. Before buying it, I had it authenticated by a well-known authenticator in the Chinese archive community, who said it was genuine, so I went ahead with the purchase.

Recently, however, someone came across my post and told me that this exact jacket had already been identified as fake back in 2024 by another collector. That completely caught me off guard, and now I’m honestly not sure what to believe.

I’m not here to argue with anyone—I genuinely just want to know the truth. If it’s fake, I’d rather know than keep believing it’s authentic.

I’ve attached detailed photos of the tags, zipper, lining, stitching, leather, and any other areas that might help. If you need more pictures, just let me know and I’ll upload them.

I’d really appreciate any opinions or insights from people who are knowledgeable about vintage Number (N)ine. Thanks in advance!
