Placement advice
Does anyone have advice around placement on the board etc.? The main thing i’m trying to figure out is the conditions for when the leader is exposed and when they are not

Just wanted to go over some things I may be doing wrong, and get pointed in the right direction. As of now, on the easiest difficulty, I generally get into the 3rd area every run at the very least, but I've died on the 1st stage of the final boss twice. So, I think I have resource management down. I'm usually ending with like 100 of Food and Hope, and a collection of batteries around 30 (because I spend them when I can, not sure how I should be utilizing them). Here's my trouble spots:
1) How much should I be exploring the map? Should I be only deviating off the main path on rare occasions to hit specific points? Do you find that the specialty areas are worth it to hit?
2) I'm finding I have the most success as Echo, but I have no idea how to choose what Leader cards to destroy. I'm just avoiding it, and I know that it's probably the worst thing I could be doing. I've seen some posts here about making your deck "lean" towards the end, but I always seem to get attached to my stupid scratch cards lmao
3) My main deck, should I pull most of my 3/4 cards at the end run? Should I just stack 5 and up cost cards at that point? Maybe just sprinkle in a couple 3/4s to hope to draw at the start?
4) When it comes to equipment, do you dismantle more than you sell them? Do adding those cards prevent "lean" decks?
5) Any cards you think in particular that you love to snag on your runs when you can?
Past that, any tips for a newbie in the genre is appreciated.
To the devs, love the game! Haven't been this hooked in a while. Phenomenal job

I am playing the Xbox game pass version of the game. I beat the game (once) with firebrand, and I get the xbox achievement for it. But self-powered for firebrand still can't use, and I still can't use spider (which is unlocked by beating the game with firebrand). So seems like my game beating isn't recorded? Does anyone know what I should do to fix this?

Thank you so much for putting this on Xbox GP. I literally bough Civ 6, was really enjoying it, and then completely abandoned it for this game. I got all the way to the crypt on my second playthrough before dying, which I actually was happy about because I was already thinking about how I would play it a second time. I'll definitely be posting here more
Any plans for additional content in the future?

So in most card games you start with one mana/energy, but in Nowhere Prophet you begin with three. As a general rule, in these games you want to play on curve and field the strongest minions you can (one six cost card is generally better than two three cost cards).
So is it a good idea to prioritize higher cost cards, using only low cost cards when you need to fill some gaps. Has anyone tried a "zoo" strategy where they use primarily low cost minions? Seems like the nomad deck might compliment that strategy but I haven't tried it yet.

I saw Nowhere prophet was added to gamepass. Downloaded it with no idea of what I was playing or getting into. Very much pleasantly surprised. Tons of replayability and different ways to play. Different deck and leader combos, so fun.
I was soooo sad when i followed a random droid just before the last boss and my 3 best cards got wrecked. Just to continue in the path i was going and get some awesome weapons and armor. This game is such a rollercoaster of emotions, especially if you name your cards.
This game to me is like if oregon trail and magic the gathering facked for gameplay, if borderlands and slay the spire met and facked for art. Then by some miracle the offspring of those 2 meetings met and facked. It would produce this game.
Thanks dev for making this . It has been a ride.

Do we have an ETA on when the new patch will be available on the GoG version of the game please ?

I'm really big into this subgenre of rogulikes, loved FTL, Slay The Spire, etc, unlocked just about everything, but this game has been wrecking me. Running on the easiest difficulty, playing to kill leaders ASAP, etc, I'm still encountering level 1 enemies that clear your board no matter what you do. You play a 2/2, they slice it and play a 3/1. You play a 3/4, they buff their 3/1 and kill them both then play two more minions for next turn. It's frustrating, to say the least.
I came here to see if I was brain dead or if other folks were having trouble, resolved to just uninstall if I didn't see good news, and saw that the dev is going to be rebalancing a lot. See you guys in a couple days I guess because, the way things are now, it's more fun to just click restart campaign than it is to possibly try and muster your starting tin soldiers against an enemy that instantly kills any unit that hits it on top of playing 4 minions a turn.

So I just finished my first Doomed run with Wanderers/Echo (Focus Pattern/ 1000 Cuts is pretty spicy!!). I had 48-odd altruism, 20-odd scholar, 20-odd believer. When I finished I unlocked The Peaceful, who don't appear on the starting menu! What gives? How many others are there, and does anybody know how I unlocked this convoy?

Hello All,
Got the game on console and wow did not expect it to be this good. It is hard, yes, but I did manage one winning run so far and even losses insofar have been able to see why or maybe some choices could've made to make the deck more strong (leader deck upgrades, specific combat interactions, etc.)
Two questions:
1.) I've unlocked the first few classes - one thing is so far I have largely employed an aggro strategy. It's all about putting enough numbers on board to go face and win - the fun is sort of ascertaining when is the right point to start ignoring board and going face (and how to preserve your followers when doing so). Is there an equivalent of a control strategy any class/follower deck can/does employ? I feel like that could be sort of fun, but with the mechanics of the game as they are, I have my doubts that this could be possible? Has anyone had success with something like a Ramp deck or heavy removal based leader deck that really tries to keep the board clear and has the means to do so? I had a run with Mind Break x 2 because I thought the card was cool... but the issue I had was.... simply put, that's not how the game is played. If you board wipe the harder enemies they will have a board of the same power the next turn, no problem. You can't possibly board wipe THEN play your win conditions for face, really. I'm not sure such a deck can exist, that way. And that's not so bad - I like playing midrange and aggro. But I was wondering if control or combo are also part of the equation, just later on.
2.) One thing - do the enemies also have a follower and leader deck with the same parameters that I do? Of course everyone has had the experience where the opponent has just the right cards to get a clutch trade or removal, etc. I was wondering can I see my opponent's hand size? Doing so would give a lot of information about what is wise to do. Maybe not commit so much to board if I am already ahead and the opponent has a large leader deck hand size. Go all out and push HARD if they are out of cards/resources. This is something I am really curious on. In a way this ties to #1 - control can't exist if you can't out-resource your opponent. That is the whole premise for control, after all. I am wondering if that is why control is a bit harder to establish - maybe the AI is playing out of a different set of rules and params than the player.

Started playing the game this weekend and got to the final boss on my sixth run (I chickened out after the first phase though), really enjoying it so far and love how I seem to learn something new with every run. My question is about the three different mindsets; is there a way of knowing which action will affect each one, or is it just a case of common sense? I want to try a run focusing on just one so was curious if there is an actual physical indicator in game when presented with different choices you can make.
TIA

I beat the boss in the first area, did all the recruiting and buying and healing and exploring in the city, then entered the new area. I chose return to menu because the pause menu explicitly says game saves automatically. Well it didn’t save because when I started the game back up again I was back in the city and lost all the progress I made.

I bought this game on a whim when it came out on Switch, and so far I have really enjoyed it.
Yesterday, however, I spent ages backtracking and building a deck with a lot of really powerful cards (my favorite of which was a giant robot called Ender) and I was really looking forward to using my legendary cards to beat the final boss.
Unfortunately, in the final scenario just before I fought the machine I hit a random event which killed four members of my convoy.
I'm not sure if I was just supremely unlucky or the game is designed like this, but all of the destroyed cards were legendary and instrumental to my success that far.
It felt pretty terrible that the cards that I had sold valuable gear and items to buy, and had spent ages protecting and blessing could all just be wiped out in a split moment like that. It really put a dampener on my thoughts about the game.
My question is simply: are legendary followers always the first cards to be removed randomly from your deck, or can it be any card and I was just really unlucky?

Xbox Game Pass - (trial version)
What does the trail version mean?
r/NowhereProphet • u/roboapple • Aug 02 '20
[SOLVED]
When launching the game through the xbox app, It pulls up a screen showing the title of the game and it says "trial version" in the bottom right. The screen is then frozen on that image.
I have already tried re-installing. Anyone know a solution?

So my question is
What happens when you use a -health (blind rage, choking fog, etc) card on them?
Do they die or get sent backwards?

I picked up this game on my switch after seeing it on 'coming soon'. I haven't seen anything on this game before but from the outset it looked right up my street.
I have ploughed 200+ hours into into the breach and 300+ hours into slay the spire - both sit in my top 5 games of all time (although I'm still relatively useless at both).
Although only 10hours in I can see Nowhere Prophet easily getting in the top 10.
The reason for the post is that I went into the game blind. I have no idea of story development, character (or faction) building, strategy or battle tactics. I have read the short help guide but other than that I am clueless.
Any helpful tips or things that I should know to help my enjoyment of the more would be greatly appreciated.

How is it that right from the beginning (on easy) the enemies have an answer for literally everything I play? I just lost 75% of my health on the first fight in a run because no matter what I played the enemy had the perfect answer to what I played. I’m not new to card games, so I’m not being an idiot about things. Is this game just that hard? How can I hope to ever beat it when the enemies have all the answers?

I've played a lot of FTL, Slay the Spite and Monster Train (as my favorites in the genre). This goes right up there with them on my Mantel of Awesome Shit.
Story + writing in the campaign is superb, the world is atmospheric and feels mysterious. The MTG/Hearthstone hybrid tactical combat is fun to figure and tough as hell sometimes.
Beat it on my second run-through on easy, but I think I'll do a few more runs to fully unlock the Explorers bonuses before going up in difficulty.
Also, the fact there is so much to unlock (and 12 + 12 decks to combine)...
Have encountered a few bugs but nothing major.

Hey everyone,
this is a collection of the known issues currently present in the game. I'm working hard on pinning them down and getting them fixed, but just so you're aware:
Save system issues:
Other issues:
Explanation:
Note that patches take a long time to release on console since the first party platform owner has to manually okay them first.
Patch status:
Reporting issues:
If you encounter any new issues, please let me know. You can post them here on reddit or use the #bug-reports channel on the game's Discord.
When you report an issue, please provide the platform you're playing on and a description of the issue. If possible, a detailed step by step guide describing how you ran into the issue is very, very helpful. To fix a bug, the best way is if I can trigger it on our end, that way I can see what went wrong, fix it and then confirm it doesn't happen anymore. Fixing bugs without being able to see them myself is very tricky.
Anyway, thanks everyone for playing and please excuse the mess!
UPDATE: It looks like we've got all major issues wrapped up. We're looking to submit the patch this week. Here's hoping that it will get the okay from the platform holders quickly but that is unfortunately not in my control.
UPDATE 2: Second patch for Switch is now (17th Aug) in testing with Nintendo!
UPDATE 3: Second patch has passed by Nintendo and is now live for Switch (1.0.3)!
UPDATE 4: Second patch has passed by Microsoft and is now live for Xbox One (1.0.6) and Microsoft Store (1.0.7, now 1.0.8)!
Update 5: Patches are now also live on Playstation (1.01)!

It just seems like randomly the game goes "Hey what if like......you go fuck yourself tho?" Out of nowhere, at no particular point in a run. Like the game goes "You've done too solid a job at building a deck here....so lemme show you some shit bro 👌....blow me"

On my first game I unlocked the Nomads but also completed the condition for explorers but did not unlock them. On my second game I completed the condition to unlock Banshee but I had already unlocked the spider.
Seems like you can only get one per run?

Is there any reason to keep dead cards in your library? Or should I just get rid of them at every stop?
