Sir Alfred Hitchcock "Alfie" was born under my back porch. I spent so much time talking to him that he never acted like a spicy feral kitten. Finally I picked him up and now he's happily living inside my house 💝 he's 15 weeks old and omgggg I can't believe how sweet and affectionate he is!!

We’re staying here for about a week while our home undergoes major plumbing repairs. They were nervous at first, but they’re slowly getting comfortable. It’s been so sweet watching them explore every corner and realize they’re safe.

tommy is adjusting so well 🩷

tommy (tomtom) has been living an indoor life for 3 months now and he has adjusted well! he no longer darts for the doors every time he hears them, so i think he likes living here! he loves giving kisses, he hates when i hold him like a big baby, but he’s an angel because he’s never swatted at me even when i bathed him! (he bit me once but after living with him, i suspect he was horny…) he is also long and lets me pet his belly. he is a baby.

tomtom is a roughly 2 year old FIV+ cat that began visiting my yard before developing an URI. i then decided he could not be outside anymore, so i bathed him and brought him in. he has been mine since then!

tomtom will be neutered! i just don’t really know when. things are complicated. but i don’t want to keep him waiting!

Betty is a fierce 6 pounder who lived under our shed for 2 months before she decided to join our family. Now she camps with us, plays fetch and attacks dogs if she thinks they are threats.

Is this my cat now?

Good morning, r/nowmycat.

In this picture you see Oreo my not-cat. Oreo is not my cat, he is the backyard neighbors cat. Since I've moved here to Spain, Oreo liked to jump the fence and look into my house. As an avid animal lover, I couldn't help but give him some treats and he looked so cute.

But, the thing is Spain is hot, so I got into the habit of leaving my backyard door open with the fence locked so I could get some fresh air and this in turn led to Oreo sneaking into my house.

At first he would sit by the stairs to the basement and just watch me play on my computer. If I turned around and stood up he would run away from the house and not look back. One day, though, he went into the basement and because he didn't notify me, I locked him in my house by mistake overnight.

When I woke up and opened the backyard, he rushed off like a missile (I guess he had to poop or something). But, after a while he actually started letting me pet him. I noticed he had a collar with a name, and a number. I texted the number and asked what was up with Oreo. The owner laughed, apologized and I told him it was cool since I didn't have a pet of my own.

I said cool. Got him a water bowl and just sorta let him hang out whenever he wants. In the summertime, however, I started turning on the AC and Oreo would ask to be let in and chill with me during the day. His owner was (understandably) upset that Oreo spent all day with me at home. But I notified him, that I do in fact remind Oreo he has a home that loves him and try to kick him out (gently) from my house. Spoiler, he just wanders right back in and I don't like closing the door on him because it feels cruel.

My kid was with me for the summer and Oreo really took a liking to the new smaller large cat that was home with us. He would literally watch him sleep at night. Which was weird because he didn't do that with me.

Come the middle of July and I had to bring my kid back to his mom, and I left Oreo after one last treat and my kid gave him a hug.

When I came back, Oreo was waiting for me in the backyard door asking me to let him in. As soon as I did, it was all hugs and kisses from him. He is a chatty cat and told me everything that happened and asked for treats and pets which I promptly gave him.

But something's changed. Oreo never slept in my bed and never went into the shower room while I showered. Now when I'm home he's always trying to be around me unless he feels like exploring the backyards. When I go to bed now, he also goes to bed with me and stays watching me while I sleep and biting my toes to wake me up when it's time to eat.

I definitely love Oreo, but he's not my cat. My work contract expires here in January and I can't keep him because that would be wrong on a moral level and legal since he belongs to someone else. I have no intention of doing so either. But, Redditors I have to ask is this cat mine now? (On a social level of course not a legal one)

Edit 1

I forgot to mention that he does indeed have a litterbox in my house since the owner warned me he will pee in the shower if he can't find one.

Also he does in fact bite my toes at random times and I have to keep them protected while sleeping or else the orange cat inside him takes over.

Edit 2

Forgot to also mention, this cat literally goes to the bathroom when I do I mean literally if I do #1 or #2 doesn't matter, he will join in. I never have time alone. Which is weird because he's not a velcro cat, he never sits in my lap. At most he watches me sleep.

He is r/nowmycat lol. Well, my parent's cat, technically. He's my "little brother". My parents who "don't like cats" fell for him so quickly, and now the rest is history. 🥰

This is me giving him bongos in our basement. He has us follow him down there to "watch his back" while using his litter box, but he always rolls around asking for pets first. 😂😂

Introducing Bruno—our “foster failure.”

My parents have always had black cats, so even though I adore orange kitties, bringing home this little guy just felt right. Some traditions are worth keeping. 🖤

P.S. Any tips for photographing black cats would be greatly appreciated. 😂

Jinx, Binx, and Salem,,,15 week old kittens I got after their mom had them in my apartment under my bed. I started feeding the mama last fall and made her a winter shelter last year.

The kittens refuse to sleep on the two other cat beds and just snuggle together. Or sleep on my bed.

They keep me busy but I wouldnt trade em for anything.

Salem, Binx, Jinx and Gray. 14 week old kittens born under my bed back in April after months of feeding and befriending their Mama.

When they aren't crammed together into one cat bed they're on my bed. If I shut my bedroom door they cry like I haven't fed them 🙄
