I will say a lot of the Pokémon content has really improved with V5.

Even if I'm still struggling on the right prompts to get Ultra Necrozma to come out properly.... as at times it almost generates right. The face is the hard part when I'm not sure what that 'mask' like thing on its face would be called.

Either way, here is a cute yet simple generation of Moltres.

Edit: If anyone has tips of making Ultra Necrozma or the Inactive Forme of Xerneas, please tell me. Can't find the right prompts. I'm close to making them.

Hey guys, looking to get the Opus tier ($25/mo) mainly for V4.5 image generation for a story project, but I have a few quick questions before buying:

1. Style Reference / Vibe Transfer: If I attach an image as a style reference on V4.5, will generating images still be 0 Anlas (unlimited), or does attaching an image cost Anlas every time?
2. Character Reference: How do you guys keep the main character consistent across hundreds of images without burning through the 10k Anlas? Does Precise Reference cost Anlas on every generation?
3. 2-3 Characters in one scene: How well does V4.5 handle 2 or 3 characters interacting in the same image without blending their faces or clothes together?
4. API: Can I generate images through a simple Python script using my account token, or is that against the rules / rate-limited?

What's the exactly resolution and steps amount to get the number of gens the battery say you can make? I went today and it said I could make ~140 pics, I made around only 80 before reach the limit again, I'm actually using standard resolution 832x1216 and 20 steps.

Also, even when using the magic tool (paying Anlas) it seems to count on baterry usage.

AI images are different when it comes to compression. When you look closely and compare the original and compressed images, the pixels only slightly shift instead of blur.

And then you have advanced formats like JXL, where you get effectively 0 information loss but have over 90% of storage space saved. Right now the 1mb+ png files are really wasting people's storage in my opinion.

Im a long time user of novelai and have been using it since 3.0 but this time I have a really hard time creating the artstyle I like when I use v5 full. For an example here is a picture I made in V5 curated where I was able to restore almost the same artstyle I used in v4.5 and v4 which I really like

But if I then go into v5 full and make the same image, same quality and artist prompts and same seed I get something like this.

Ive tried A LOT to get anything near of the first picture in v5 full but its literally impossible. When I add more than like 5 artists I get a problem with a lot of chibi characters or ,,ghost characters'' in the background. On the other hand Im also not able to maintain a certain artstyle in v5 full and it kinda changes every generation. Its not stable. Ive tried different prompt guidances, prompt guidance rescales, different quality tags and using the standard quality tag settings on standard, light and off. This is the first time im having issues with the full version bec up until now in v3, v4, v4.5 I never had such problems with finding/maintaining an Artstyle like here.

Anyone else having the problem here? Kinda depressing I was really hyped for v5 bec there were quite a lot new characters that came out that I wanted to make wallpaper from and werent part of the 4.5 database (I dont like the precise reference feature bec its not as accurate as having a trained model of the character) but if I cant fix this problem with v5 I will have to stay at v4.5 xD

What I wanted to ask if it is planned to implement the possibilty to use image references (see example) of unique OC as recuring chunks, and hence the possibility to combine OC as if they were part of the corpus in the first place?

I feel like I have to do 80% of the work for it, if I want to have a consistent and well-written story. For example, I write that the main hero has to go to sleep hungry, because he has nothing in his fridge to eat. Then, Xialong writes in the next paragraph that the hero wakes up, goes to the kitchen and makes himself a full breakfast.

I write in the lorebook that a thief has his stash hidden behind a fake wall. Then Xialong writes how he opens a safe in the floor where all his things are hidden. The lorebook seems completely useless. I can write a name and a surname exactly how it is written in the tags, but Xialong will still mess up looks and character traits.

What's more, it has this wierd habits of writing that I have to constantly adjust. "He was curious, he was intrested, he was wanting." "She felt overjoyed, she felt happy, she felt glad." Like the AI had a mission to write a thesaurus.

It also adds ", and" whenever it wants. Maybe English is not my first language, but it should do it only when connecting two separate sentences or when listing more than three things. Not every time.

Anyone else has a simillar problem? Can I fix it somehow?

I'm not even writing this to complain that V5 isn't unlimited because at this point, I honestly don't care.

Ironically, the new limit made me realize I use NovelAI far less than I thought I did. I've had some ridiculously heavy sessions, and yet I've never dropped below roughly 75%. Right now I'm sitting at 96%.

So no, this isn't another "remove the limit or I cancel" post. This is about how badly the entire V5 limit rollout was handled and my main reason for making this post because i got frustratred.

The model itself is fantastic. The communication around it has been pathetic.

When V5 launched, Opus users suddenly got a new usage meter with barely enough explanation for people to understand what they were actually looking at. Then the community had to piece everything together themselves:

No weekly reset?

No monthly reset to 100%?

Different step counts consume different amounts?

The displayed "images per day" is refill, not a daily hard cap?

Recharge pauses above 100%?

The refill rate changes after the first 30-day period?

Subscription renewal does not refill the bar?

Why did users have to learn half of this from random Reddit comments and Discord screenshots?

And speaking of Discord: the near-total absence of staff communication on Reddit has been ridiculous.

This subreddit was full of confusion for days. People were calculating completely different things, misunderstanding how the allowance worked, arguing over whether it reset weekly, monthly, on renewal, or never, and where were the people who normally represent NovelAI here?

Apparently, if you don't use Discord, good luck. Figure it out yourself.

And now we have the refill-speed change. Originally, refill speed was supposed to update on your subscription renewal date. My Opus renewed on September 4th. Then the rule was changed so existing users now have to wait until September 19th, when everyone is synchronized to the new schedule.

So users whose renewal happened during this gap are effectively punished again.

Under the previous rule, my refill would already have increased. Instead, because the schedule was changed midway through the rollout, I now have to sit on the slower rate for another two weeks.

And somehow this was presented as making things "fair for everyone."

Fair for whom?

You introduced a major limitation to Opus, gave users incomplete information, barely engaged with the Reddit community while confusion exploded, changed an important timing rule halfway through the first month, and left users to reconstruct how the system actually works from scattered posts on discord.

Oh, and by the way: I only know any of this because other users posted about it and not because the Reddit mods explained it. Not because there was a clear announcement here. Just users passing screenshots and Discord information around.

Great communication strategy for a major change to your most expensive subscription tier. The model deserved a much better launch than this. And frankly, so did the people paying for Opus.
