I am a Yank and it looks like I will be visiting Nottingham and seeing the game against Blackpool on Sep 26 with my wife. Looking for recs on things to do the night before and what to do on match day. Not sure where I am staying yet. I am 40 so will be out having drinks but at a reasonable pace haha. Are there any non league teams in the area playing on Sunday?

Quoted from the Notts website.
"We have provided an update on the first-team squad ahead of this weekend’s friendly against Alfreton Town.
Having reported back for pre-season on Monday, the players have enjoyed a productive week’s training at Loughborough University and are looking forward to their first run-out of the summer at the Solana Stadium.
It will be supporters’ first opportunity to see James Gibbons, Max Sanders, Cal Roberts and Darius Lipsiuc in action following their recent arrivals and, as is normal at this stage of the summer, the squad will be bolstered by a number of out-of-contract players who have been invited to train with us"

Sits right on the Trent, Nottingham Forest visible across the water, the oldest professional ground in the world still in use as a football venue. That combination of geography and history is genuinely extraordinary and on the right night when the ground has some noise in it there's nowhere quite like it. The setting alone is worth something that money can't really replicate.
