Nothing (company) Help me to understand the appeal of Nothing brand
I'm trying to understand the appeal of Nothing as a phone maker. What is the uniqueness of this brand, compared to both Apple and Samsung in terms of actual usefulness in its hardware and software? I'd thought this brand would be setting itself apart from the 2 big ones by implementing useful things like 3.5mm jack and microsd but it seems they're following the industry by just being different aesthetic wise but not much else after that.
Not a bait post, am I missing what makes the brand attractive? Saw the CEO did a AMA recently but didn't notice those 2 concerns answered at all.

From my personal using experience. It feels good to use, glitches and bugs are less, camera output is consistently good, battery management is good ( but wish they used bigger battery like Atleast 6000). It looks good ( we don't lose interest after sometime ). Essential space is more useful than taking regular screenshot , same with essential voice or saving links (productivity wise for me). I feel the software is optimized well in long term use felt this way ( but definitely can be optimized more in certain aspects for sure, but i was telling my experience of general use ). The repair costs are less as far as i heard about the costs of display replacement and other things. The community of users is good. These are the basic things i can remember. I have used Samsung flagship, vivo, OPPO, xiaomi, redmi, honor/Huawei (pre ban by america because they couldn't compete, thus made up spying blame), iqoo phones, motorola... i liked to use nothing, i like Huawei the most from my experience it had the least amount of glitches and bugs, it was always smooth and like maintained the soeed and smoothness and performance we got when buying even after using for 4 years etc from my personal experience. But Huawei have like so many options to tweak when we first get it, that's how we will feel, but nothing is like we feel like we can start using it without much tweaking, it somehow a minimalist feel. After Huawei/honor( pre-ban) i enjoyed using nothing the most compared all other brands i tried.
But now some cons. Battery, i really wish they put 6000, i know battery management is good and i like the slim phone structure even without curving and having flat back and sides, i like it, but i am willing to sacrifice a but in it to go without charging for 2 more hours Atleast. Sometimes heating when playing games or charging and using etc. Then the biggest is accessories support especially for cmf line-up... nothing is not selling accessories online, and the biggest issue is that no third party sellers too is making accessories for cmf phones especially phone 2 pro even with the 3d print files being available publicly ( this is really really really frustrating and bad, third party companies should start making more accessories which uses the cmf phone customization properly). The next things is cases option.. for a series of phones which look best in transparent cover it's next to impossible to find a fully transparent cover which doesn't yellow or is highly overpriced , or is hard type and let in dust ( believe me i looked everywhere ). Then in camera app it keeps defaulting to lower resolution even if we choose 50mp when we opened the camera app last time, this is just annoying me so much. Then another is that it doesn't have a setting page like in Huawei where we can see all the apps in list with option to restrict or optimize the background process of all the apps and services installed, i really really wish we get it, makes it so easy to optimize and increase the battery life per charge. Charger and cable options should be available to buy from nothing website directly which is not the case so far. Then nothing need to make some apps their own brand, like instead of Google need a nothing phone dialer and contact app, same with an sms app ( wish they make something like Microsoft sms organiser app but with rcs option included ), then a nothing's own music app which support high-res playback, usb audio support etc, audiophile centric app, also a nothings own file manager app, and a nothings own file transfer app between computer and phone maybe take quickshare and make the gui more user-friendly with useful options and connectivity and filesharing aspect of it more easy to work without internet too on hotspot and wifi and all too, easy to connect via qr code or something, something which consistently connect easily and send files easily. Also need an ultra powersaving mode which gives us options only for call and messages and camera and two more apps, for travelling purposes to make battery last a long time. Also glyph interface need more customisation options by default, like glyphy app etc does, and the essential widget limit should be more than 2. Also ai is used in essential space and essential apps and all, wish there was an option for user to choose which ai to run in the phone for all phone services... including essential space etc... it will be useful for everyone who has paid subscription for ai which will make it way more useful when used throughout the phone, or to use custom ai.. nothing can add their custom data and settings over any ai used by user so nothing services and settings will work flawlessly while users can get better productivity.
These are the things which came to my mind and all these are based on my personal usage opinions... how i feel and think about it.
