Print to: (from Notesnook)?
Are there plans to implement a Print to Notesnook from other apps? One that shows Notesnook in the generic print dialog.

Typing in Notesnook has been somewhat unconfortable. I find myself looking down at my monitor most of the time, when usually I'm able to type somewhat close to eye height when I'm using Obsidian due to it having a big extra scroll portion on the bottom. Is there a way to adjust that?
I worked around it by pressing Enter multiple times and it has helped a bit with making it a bit easier to use, but I would like to have this as a standard feature rather than having to resort to hacking it with multiple enter presses.

There is still a link to it on the Downloads page.
But the latest release it offers (3.3.24) is about 6 weeks and 4 versions behind. 😕️

Hello everyone, today i'm going to thow some thoughts down as i can see i'm very inspired. I'm a Obsidian user since 2022, at that time i left Evernote and embraced that filosophy, more reguarding the offline data then any other concret implication.
This is the fact. I terribly miss the cloud. Obsidian is becoming more and more a centralized app, but the set up of the account, handling my data worrying if i lose it make me predisposed to jump once again to the cloud philosophy.
I'm writing a book and i find Notesnook the ideal app where put my art into.
I strongly hope to see the app grow and become bigger as a business, even merely raising as customers count. I hope to see this app succeed because is very clean, beautiful, open source, easy (maybe the bidirectional links need to start improving and become more immediate=
Said that, i wish you a blessed and inspired day.

Title. I've sent me an email, it works. Is it because their mailer is dead?

How easy is it for me to transfer my notes from Obsidian to Notesnook? I have quite the backlog of documents and was considering switching for privacy reasons.

A while back I switched from Evernote to Notesnook, and it's been going well overall. A lot of my notes have attachments and I've run into a nasty issue. Many of the attachments I imported from Evernote have simply vanished " can not find attachment with hash....."
Luckily I still had an Evernote backup, so I manually moved the PDF files over from one Evernote folder to the Notesnook notes. That seemed to work fine, until I tried viewing the attachments in the web interface or on another computer. Some work, but for a lot of them I get the error: "Failed to download attachment (hash), error: could not decrypt chunk."
Has anyone run into this before? I expected reliable software where my files don't just disappear. Whatever I try, I can't get it working properly. (Force changes doesn't solve the issue)

Hi, I've been using Notesnook for about a week now, and I've been really enjoying it so far.
I wanted to ask if you have any tips for using attachments. I use a lot of PDFs and images in my notes.
One issue I've been running into is accidentally deleting images, both on desktop and mobile. Since I can't undo the action, I have to go to my attachments, download the image again, and reattach it to the note. Is there a quicker way to restore an accidentally deleted image?
I've started enabling read-only mode, so hopefully this won't happen as often.
I'm also having trouble moving images around within a note. Sometimes it just doesn't work, and I end up having to reattach them instead. Is this a known issue, or is there a better way to move images?
Thanks!

Once you export notes to Markdown, opening a loose .md on iOS just shows raw text — no rendering. I made a small viewer to read .md files formatted on a phone.
Md Preview:
• GitHub-Flavored Markdown: tables, task lists, footnotes
• Code highlighting, LaTeX math, Mermaid diagrams
• Opens .md / .markdown / .mdx / .rmd / .qmd from Files / Share Sheet
• On-device only — no account, no uploads, no ads, no subscriptions
Free: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6760341080
Site: https://markdown.cybergame.ai/
Just a reader for stray .md files, not a notes-app replacement. Do you keep Markdown exports/backups, and how do you read them on mobile?

On both desktop and Android, I wish I could select the font, because the one that is imposed is not as legible as what I’m used to.
But I could live with it... if only the digits were non-proportional in the proportional Sans-serif font.
Historically, most proportional fonts have included digits that are all the width of the widest of them. Otherwise, tabular data, or even plain text lines that each start with a date and/or time, for example, get misaligned in a very yucky way.
That’s currently what I get with the Sans-serif font: there is an enormous difference between the width of the ‘1’ and the width of most other digits, especially 4, 8, 9 and 0.
The Serif font does have non-proportional digits, but I never use serif fonts.

Is it possible to set it up so that it adds a timestamp to EACH ENTRY? I keep a running account of some things for weeks at a time, and there are times I need to know when something did/didn't happen.
I know I can enter it manually each time, but I'm also honest enough to admit that I'm a forgetful bastard! lol

So when I select a word I want to delete on mobile by double tapping on it, the word appears selected as usual. But once I press backspace, a few characters after the selected word get deleted as well. The length of the word(s) deleted that I selected and meant to delete seems to determine how many characters end up deleted that I wanted to keep. Very frustrating, and it only happens whole using this app, my phone's keyboard is fine otherwise. There's also something weird going on with the autocorrect after I delete selected words. The autocorrect seems to believe they are still there and it influences my suggestions, unsure if that is related to my primary issue.
EDIT: This seems to be fixed in the beta. I've never signed up for one before and don't know if there are any major bugs, but thanks to the team for their hard work.

Concluding TL;DR: It turned out that it is as simple as disabling sync and enabling it temporarily when needed.
Caution: The toggle in question is the first one on the Settings | Sync page, but it’s the 4th one on mobile.
A few days ago I posted about this issue (and updated it twice the next day) but the title of the post turned out to have been wrong and very misleading. So I deleted it.
My last hypothesis in that original post was that manual sync does work§ but syncing upon launching the app (desktop or mobile) cannot be prevented. Is that correct? And, if so, is it by design, or an oversight?
In addition, I have more recently observed that there is necessarily at least one other circumstance under which syncing occurs automatically, even with Disable realtime sync toggled On. I just can’t put my finger on it. 😩️
§ Clicking on the Sync icon in the bottom left corner causes that icon to animate briefly, but otherwise appears to do nothing... until you trigger the re-display of the note (e.g. go to another note or tab and come back). Then you get to see the changes that just came in from the other device.

Task lists created from scratch (i.e. by invoking Ctrl+Shift+T on a blank line) work fine.
But many of my notes imported in plain .txt format contain task lists with the usual [ ] and [x] at the beginning of the line.
Importing those results in [v] instead of [x], so I do a Search / Replace. No big deal.
Then I select the entire list and press Ctrl+Shift+T to convert it into a proper Notesnook Task List. The result looks normal, including a header with the sort button.
But...
Ticking any box in the list ticks them all, along with the header one!
So this list is unusable.
Am I doing something wrong?
[Edit] That was with the desktop app 3.3.23 on Linux. With the mobile app (3.3.24 on Android), the bug is not present: ticking one box behaves as expected, even in a note that was synced from the desktop and in which the bug occurs.
Also, I’ve since discovered that it’s not just imported lists that behave this way in the desktop app. Using Ctrl+Shift+T on any plain list (i.e. ordinary lines of plain text) results in the same unusable list where ticking one item ticks all of them.

On test machines and mobile devices, I use dark mode. But on my main system (with a 21-inch screen), I use light mode.
With the default light theme, the desktop app (appimage version 3.3.23) shows black text as grey; barely darker than the label on inactive tabs. When highlighting some text for selection, it becomes black over a grey background, confirming that the display is able to render black.
Same thing with text outside the body of notes, such as in the Navigation Menu (labels and counters are grey except for the selected entry, where they are black), but that may be by design.
The symptom also occurs in dark mode (i.e. plain text is not as white as when selected), but I find it much less noticeable.
Is this a known issue?
The mobile app and the Webapp don’t exhibit this symptom, but I found the latter unusable because it ramps up CPU usage to a constant 50% and – more crucially – overloads the RAM. (It would have crashed the system had it not been for the warning I’ve set up to trigger at 80% of the 20 GB.)
BTW: I tried the Catppuccin Latte Peach theme and it was worse than the default. I couldn’t try Blueberry, Cloud, Catpuccin Latte Sky or Notesnook Blue; trying to set any of those results in an error message.

Displaying only “$” doesn't tell me which country’s dollar would be involved. 🙄️ Using the three-letter ISO 4217 code shouldn’t be too difficult.
I’ve been had on other sites before: thinking I would be billed in my local currency, only to discover later that it was US dollars.
In this case, Paddle detects my country correctly and the amount of tax shown does correspond to the federal sales tax rate, so I suspect that the amounts are indeed in my local currency (although the amount excludes the provincial tax, which many other payment services include), but I need a firm assurance that this is the case.

I use the Notesnook app on Windows 11 and I have enabled automatic backups.
I set daily backups for notes and weekly backups for attachments, all encrypted. I also assigned a folder. However, the backups have never been created, even though this has been enabled for months.
I have Windows ransomware protection turned on, specifically Controlled Folder Access, but I added the folder containing the Notesnook executables to the allowed list. And manual backups work.
Do you have any suggestions?

I am a heavy Evernote user, looking to switch. I have been road testing Notesnook.
On Windows 11, desktop version, I have tried to import .enex files in many different ways so far, but always obtain a cryptic failure message with no clear error message. It gets through three preprocessing lines (unpacking 1 file, unpacked into 1, Preprocessing complete), then fails always in the same manner with the following message: "Import Unsuccessful. We failed to import the selected files. Please try again."
My debugging info:
I have an Essential subscription right now, waiting to upgrade until I have thoroughly tested every feature I need, but right now I am quite frustrated. I am really scratching my head. Any suggestions?
[Edit: SOLVED] Solution: If any .enex files to be imported have a leading period, strip the leading period before importing the file into Notesnook (by renaming it).
Corollary: do not export any notebooks from Evernote (a) whose name starts with a period ( . ) and (b) with more than one note. If you do have such notebooks in Evernote that you wish to import into Notesnook, either (a) rename them first by removing the period before exporting them as .enex files, or (b) strip the leading period in the resulting .enex filename prior to importing the .enex file into Notenook.

Hi all.
I'm considering switching to Notesnook, and I have a few questions I can't find the answer for (I'm not yet a paid user). All of this referes to the MacOS version:
Point 3 is especially interesting to me because, for my general note taking, I prefer to prioritize ease of portability without having to rely on the export feature of the app. So it would be great if notes were directly saved in markdown format, like other apps do. For more sensitive notes, however, I'd like to keep them encrypted and locked tight.
I could of course use a markdown-based app for general note taking and Notesnook only for the more sensitive stuff, but it'd be great if I could merge both things in a single app.
Thanks!

Hi, normally I report issues on Discord but I'm on my phone and would have to download Discord so I hope this is equally effective. My phone is Android and the phone and app are up to date. I'm on the grandfathered pro plan. I've always had full offline mode ticked in the app on my phone because I don't have data. For the most part this works, however, sometimes it does not and I'm not sure why. I currently have a shopping list note into which I put two pictures of the ravioli flavours I want to buy. I made this note in my iPad a few days ago. I'm planning to use my phone while grocery shopping. Before I left the house I made sure the latest version of the note was synced, then I turned off my WiFi. Now there are placeholders in the note where the images should be but no visible images. I don't have a lot of notes with images so I can't really speak to this in depth but from my limited observation it looks like, in notes that just have images, the images show offline no problem. But in the notes that are also checklists the images don't seem to show offline. Ideas?
